So I'm now considered old, I'll explain the little paper books of old clothing styles and what McCalls and 2040 mean. When I would go to fabric stores to purchase fabric to make my own clothes, 1st you look through a big book of available patterns. The main pattern companies were Buttrick, Simplicity and McCalls. Once you decided on the pattern, you look at the pattern number in the book, such as that McCall 's 2040. Then you would go to the huge meral drawers where all the patterns were stored. The drawers are all labeled with the makers name, then sorted by numbers. So you find the McCall's drawer with the right number group that #2040 will be in. Thumb through all the patterns until you come to 2040, then find your sizing group, pull out the pattern envelope, and take it to the checkout counter.
For the medieval one I'd make it into a book stitching the middle then make a cover and decorate the blank pages on the back for a gift or a diary that would be fun 🎉
@27:10. That "2040" is the pattern number. All old paper patterns were identified with a pattern number. When shopping in a fabric store we would chose a pattern from the rack, give the number to the assistant who would give a pristine one from under the counter. That particular pattern 2040 is from 1957. It's probably hard for anyone under 50 to realise that we made so many of our own clothes back then. There were literally thousands of patterns to chose from and when each new season started, there were more in the latest styles. When my mother passed away she had over 300 patterns, including many from her own mother's youth early in the 20th century.
Thank you for watching! I had no idea. I agree...I'm one of those individuals...lol! My mom would tell me stories on the things she used to make back in the day.....i find that so intriguing... Thank you for sharing and explaining the pattern numbers! :)
Hi, I'm looking for one of the last items that you showed on your video with the castle it's like medieval type pages. You can fold them in half and use them like that for a book page. I couldn't find it on your list. Thank you bunches, Jackie

I've spent approx £200 on temu I can't wait to get it all my first batch hopefully comes tomorrow I'm so excited I got mostly craft stuff and some homewear bits 😅
Thanks for sharing your haul, where I can see the items clearly 😁 I love Temu stuffs .. but the only thing why I reluctant to shop with them is the way the calculate our totals. I was about to make a purchase a few times already, but when I totalled the dollar amount on each items in the basket - they came out less than the totalled shown on Temu's balance. Did you ever experience that? I shopped at Shein's previously & never esperience it .. but I admit Temu has much larger inventory and all kinds of things you've never even imagine exists. So, I am torn .. do I want to just pretend that I see their wrong calculations and buy them .. or just delete the appl and go somewhere else to find 'em. 🙄😒
You know I thought I was seeing things, but then they give you so many credits and discounts when you linger to check out...so I just ignored it. But now I'm hesitant to place a 3rd order....torn as well. You are not alone on that!
Hiya great video. Could you please give me the link for the paper pad at 31' 31 I ve looked and looked but I cannot find it and it would be perfect for my project.

Made a sewing junk journal and you could keep up with sewing ideas and they are sewing patterns from. The 1920 to the 1950’s they really cool

Still works the same way today in stores that still sell patterns!!
I had that exact experience in Woolworth 's - watching my Gram and Mom. Oh how I loved and miss Woolworth's
My Walmart still has patterns like this.
Seeing the McCall's paper brings me back to my childhood watching my mom sew. I'm going to go look for those.
I had a similar memory too.
Love everything you got from TEMU.
Have a wonderful day.
Thank you. Same to you :)
Thank you for sharing all of your items!! That was a great haul!!
