The Santa Fe was also worth mentioning as they painted five of their SD45-2 locomotives in a bicentennial scheme they were more commonly found on the point of their fastest freight train the Super C Trains 98 and 99 at the time it was the world’s fastest freight train and on some of the railroads stretches it could reach speeds of 90 mph currently one example is being moved to preservation engine 5704 is is either at or still going to the Southern California railroad museum I currently don’t know the status of this locomotive
Great video, thank you very much for putting this together! I loved the SP Officer Special as I had read that SP had to paint some cars in Amtrak livery to allow them to be attached to Amtrak trains in Amtrak's early years but I had never seen pictures before,
Just wondering where that last WP train picked up the BN GP30? All the way up until Virgilia, it was missing… Looks like the same train, maybe they picked it up in Oroville? Any feedback would be cool… Thanks
