Sir IR is not only the one subject in CSS where aspirants need to apply mind. Many questions in pak affairs, current affairs and even islamiat , where students need to apply mind. And lets not forget essay where we need to apply mind. I think this argument is a bit unfair. Plus IR can help in Interview . IR may not be complete key to css. But still it is 25% of css written plus interview. Though sir let me appreciate your opinion was much balanced to both subjects in comparision to many mentors.

Ma'am it is really helpful but the basic thing for which i am seeking is that how one can choose between these both subjects without studying the both subjects. For example i am new student from science related background i have no idea about these both subjects which type of these are, just by seeing the questions of past papers of these subjects will give me idea of what kind! I mean without knowing the nature of these subjects one can never select between the both.
If you take interest in international news and how international bodies are governed, IR would do you good. If you like theories and philosophies, Political Science is for you.

I have completed my graduation...opted Pol Sci and Sociology in graduation.... Now I wanna like to do my masters.... please recommend me either I will go for MA Pol Sci or MA IR.... future plan to appear in CSS.... I have equal tendency about these subjects.... so I can go personally for both subjects... so please recommend
Dear my suggestion would be to go for IR. For CSS its going to be win-win situation. With academic background, IR can pay well in CSS. Even as a degree I think it can take precedence on Pol Sc.

Difficulty is a relative term. Papers were difficult as many did not know how to handle questions.

Mam , This is said that CSS is unpredictable exam BUT I think It is predictable because FPSC has given the syllabus of all papers .

Ws, not necessary, but you must wait for CSS reforms before selecting anything. Work on Compulsory Subjects till then.

Mam! 200 marks optional paper consist of 2 parts Fpsc gives a student to 2 different days to attempt 200 optional paper or only one day?
Because part1 consist of timing 3 hours so it's mean 2parts of paper will be different day???

Education itna bekar haa or Job ke lia itna highly educated banda chahiya. Basically css ka system pora he floop haa. 12 Subjects m excel karna is hard nut to crack when we are talking about our weak education System. 90% Candidates to bechare English m fail hote haan or uske lia unko additional time dena parta haa unko .
