Had no idea you were filming us, sweet! You gotta show me some more of that footage some time. Talk the other Joseph into coming to run Pikes with us, the more the merrier. See ya next week amigo, the trail should be in better condition than last time we raced with some trail work taking place this week btw!
QOD: No trail races. As a matter of fact. I am 53 and just signed up for my very first 5K road race yesterday! So exciting! Thank you so much Seth. Your vlogs have been very inspirational.
As someone who loves racing trails and ultras, it's always SUPER rewarding and inspiring to go and watch and support runner also like you did. I went to an event here in Finland yesterday called the masochists dream, haha, got a bit of footage to share, and helped inspire me in my training. Thanks for sharing this it was awesome Seth.
Great videos Seth...I watch your videos every day!!! I ran a half marathon in Crested Butte two weeks ago... I'm in Alabama...10ft above sea level...the half marathon I ran started at about 9500 ft in elevation and climbed to 11500ft in the first 2 0r 3 miles.... CRAZY!!! Took me 4 hours and 44 minutes to finish...felt twice and had blood running down my leg but that didn't stop me... the last 3 miles I remember what you say to your self... "I've run a 5k before, It's just a 5k...I can do this" thank you for inspiring people from all over the world!!
You are such an awesome brother. Congrats to Joseph!! Last trial race was a little local thing - 17km, 750m+ but had lots of fun. I loved what you said at the end that not everybody gets to run mountains. You're right and I don't want to ever take it for granted! Just made me so grateful for living with mountains at my doorstep.
Trail races are so much fun. They go by so fast compared to roads I feel and to navigate the terrain as efficiently as you can is so much fun. My last one was Black Canyon 100K, but I like the shorter 15 milers better. Now that I’m a little injured I keep day dreaming about them.
Congrats Joseph - excellent performance. I ran the Dark Peak Trail Run in the Peak District in June, as my first trail race. 25km with about 700m of ascent & descent. I was happy with my performance, coming 33rd in 2 hours 26. Next up is the Beacons Trail Marathon in November in the Brecon Beacons. Around 1,300m of ascent & descent I think.
Nice Vlog. thank you for approaching the viewer ( I live in Ohio) to watch the mountain race. Nice scenery and a challenging race. As you said keep working hard and love each other.
Seth!... THAT was an INCREDIBLY BEAUTIFUL & INSPIRING Video!!!... Your filming & background music selection are "top-of-the-line"!... THANKS for sharing your talents with us & inspiring us to seek the beauty of the open road & trail!... Kudos to Brother Joseph on his awesome effort; the smile on his face after finishing the race was "priceless"!... "Garden Isle Love" 😎🌴
I ran Lavaredo Ultra Trail 120km in June. I bought a pair of Salomon S-Lab Sense 7, which I'll use on some trail races up to 15km, probably. The next possible trail race is a half marathon that descends for the first half before returning back up for the second half ~3000 foot descent/ascent. I'll have to have some solid training runs before attempting this because it sounds brutal!
Wow congratulations Joseph!! My last trail race was on Cougar Mountain ( part of the Cougar Mountain trail race series) 10 mile distance! Lots of fun! In the Seattle area.
My last trail race was yesterday. It was the Ridgeline Ruckus, a 25k with 2600 feet of climb (and 2600 feet of descent). It was in the 80s when I finished so I do feel a little dehydrated now even though I drank more than 60oz of fluid during the race. The race was organized really well, great course, nice people, everyone was super encouraging and positive. I finished in 3:45, with a good bit of walking, and I don't feel like I left too much in the tank. Hard effort with high heart rate for the majority of the race.
I paced a friend for the final 38 of the Kettle 100. On September 21 I'll participate in my first solo race. The Georgia Jewel 50 miler. Can't wait. Your videos have been very helpful. Keep it up!
I ran a trail marathon last weekend in Anglesey Wales UK round the coastal path on holy island amazing event nothing like the elevation of your events just under 2000ft all round including a 200m climb up the island mountain in the last 6 miles. Then 3 weeks before that I ran a coastal path ultra 50k placing first with 6000ft of elevation 🤩 love the channel and watch it everyday keep up the great work 😍
I couldn't believe how close Joseph was to Joe Gray, one of you guys got to take him down someday. Joel Grey wins way too many races lol what a great race! Joseph is a beast. Joseph way to beat those young kids.
It was good to meet you yesterday unfortunately I couldn’t talk since it was 2 minutes before the start and I was looking for my wife. It was her first race since having ankle surgery in February. What a way to get back into it.
CIRQUE - last trail race was the Tito's Trails and Taco's 20 miler... great name right in March of this year - hoping to get back racing by the end of the year after all my medical issues
I've never done a real road race, a single trail race and some on gravel roads. My trail race was my first race after starting running last year and it was 18K, I was a little terrified of it back then as I had never had a training run that far even on the roads, and there was an ugly peak in the elevation chart near the end. I held back from fear of "blowing up", but in hindsight I could probably have pushed a lot harder as I opened up with about 5K left and had way too much juice left. I was dead last through all of the race until I passed three people on the last 4K, I was the last man though. It was a nice experience and I would like to go back some day and do a proper race effort.
I've done five trail runs ranging from 7 miles to 16 miles. I'll run my first ultra August 31st. It will be a 30 mile run. Joseph did fantastic in his race. I know you are proud of him!
Congrats Joseph! That's an awesome time. I'm a mostly road runner, but raced two mixed trail races this year. Most recent was the Belleau Wood 8K with about 3/4 of it on gravel.
The only time I’ve run a race like this was in my home state of Vermont. The Race to the Top of Vermont. A little over four miles of hell. I’m in my sixties and have only been running four years. I know what these people are feeling.
Great racing! Way to go Joseph!! My last race was the Loon Mountain Race. Not one for those of us above 180 lbs. About 6.3 miles, 3000 ft of vert. The last half mile up the Upper Walking Boss trail is at an average 30% grade, maxing out at 48%. Yeah ... I almost died. It was awesome!!
My last trail race was actually yesterday when I came third on the Bear Creek Race near San Francisco. This was my first race in USA and one of my first trail race. That 10km with 1500 feet elevation gain was wonderful and exciting🔥
QOD: growing up in Dallas suburbs, I've never had the pleasure of racing through trails. All my races have been in the flattish open plain with nice hot Texas weather. After 17 years I got back into running. Found some trails to run through and fell in love. Now I'm trying to plan a trip to all the major parks in Texas to get some trail runs in. My ankle however doesn't approve of the trails yet... Taking a month off now to rehabilitate and strengthen the ankle for trail running.
Congrats to your brother ! QOD: I don't know if that's count but I did a Half Marathon last year on a flat to downhill gravel trail. The trail is just outside of Seattle ,Iron Horse Trial which used to be a railroad has stunning views!I did not have to wear a trail shoes.
First, I like the feature that asks for input from viewers. I haven’t officially raced any surface since 1977 (freshman track). I *have* pirated the Pittsburgh Marathon (1982) course a week after it was run (sub 4:00:00 unsupported). Having said that - I prefer trails for their lack of motor vehicles.
Nice race, question now is... How's the battle Joe vs Seth going to end😀? Last trail race was a half marathon distance with only 1200ft elevation gain. 3 kids and travelling for work, wife doesn't really appreciate I race when I'm home for thé weekend. But hey, I'm running!
QOD: I've always run on roads and this year, my friend challenged me to my first trail race, ECO 30km in Penang, Malaysia. I was very close cutting to the cut off at the finish line. My knees and feet were hurting for the last 9km 😔 but I had lots of fun.
Love trail races but am focused on the roads this year to qualify for Nagano or Boston marathons. Next year, I'll go back to Ultras-Way Too Cool or the American River 50 or maybe even Lake Sonoma 50 which is really tough. I recommend trail races to all runners.
QoD: My first trail race (first running race too for that matter) will be the 21Km option of the Crater Rim Ultra here in Christchurch, NZ. Hopefully in the next few years I’ll do the full ultra, which is 52km around the crater rim of the volcano that created our Littleton Harbour. It’s beautiful!
Im always watching your video and amaze always..hopefully u can advice because my pacing now like 5km 6km im start slow like 5 40 5 30 per km then after 3km go down to 5:10 or 4 55 per km, so how can i go faster because i want to maintain like 4 30 4 20 per km?thank you
QOD: Only trail race I have competed in was the Merrill down and dirty race, and it was in North Ga. Basically an obstacle race that took place in the hills of N. GA
Your brother looks like someone just told him they were doing a race up the mountain and he decided to see what its all about. Then he shows up and dominates!
And...question of the day Seth, what are the benefits of trail running in road running as your main crap? How would you advise to combine them to ace in your 10k or half marathon goals? Thanks
Had no idea you were filming us, sweet! You gotta show me some more of that footage some time. Talk the other Joseph into coming to run Pikes with us, the more the merrier. See ya next week amigo, the trail should be in better condition than last time we raced with some trail work taking place this week btw!

Good luck man you will kill it
ciaran kavanagh thanks for the support. Seth is a great inspiration as well.
As someone who loves racing trails and ultras, it's always SUPER rewarding and inspiring to go and watch and support runner also like you did. Joseph Demoor...🤟🏼 you really rock&roll! 👍🏼
You are such an awesome brother. Congrats to Joseph!! Last trial race was a little local thing - 17km, 750m+ but had lots of fun. Wow, are you and your brother related to mountain goats? Looked effortless going up hill!! Any hill just kill me!
Trail races are so much fun. They go by so fast compared to roads I feel and to navigate the terrain as efficiently as you can is so much fun. My last one was Black Canyon 100K, but I like the shorter 15 milers better. Now that I’m a little injured I keep day dreaming about them.

Within a minute of Joe Gray!?!? That's incredible! You guys are legit!
So many feels seeing you support your brother!!! Awesome.
Awesome running congrats to your brother Joseph! I ran a 30 km trail race yesterday and am really sore

Great race brother Joe.
I love trail running and the community. My wife and I just finished our first 100 miler at the Badger 100 last weekend.
Wow congratulations Joseph!! My last trail race was on Cougar Mountain ( part of the Cougar Mountain trail race series) 10 mile distance! Lots of fun! In the Seattle area.

This vid! So good. Seeing SJD support his brother = amazing. Love the race coverage … really captured the vibe & energy of the race.
I paced a friend for the final 38 of the Kettle 100. On September 21 I'll participate in my first solo race. The Georgia Jewel 50 miler. Can't wait. Your videos have been very helpful. Keep it up!

Congrats Joseph. Awesome race!
I've never done a trail race but would love to
I've done five trail runs ranging from 7 miles to 16 miles. I'll run my first ultra August 31st. It will be a 30 mile run. Joseph did fantastic in his race. I know you are proud of him!

I have not yet raced on trails but I want to soon.

Great race Joseph! Huge gains he’s made since Go Pro games!

Last trail race was a 60km ultra marathon here in Ireland.
Hey! I have plantar fasciitis and I am wanting to try out the peasus 35, is this a good move?
Is it OK to ask what prizes your brother won? The bag looked pretty cool, did they fill it with goodies?
Kelvin C the bag is sweet! A few small goodies inside, mostly race nutrition samples 🤘🏼 cheers!
Joseph B. DeMoor congrats on a really great race Joseph!
