I literally JUST setup, or should I say struggled to set up, notifiarr by myself earlier this week, wishing and praying for a video guide like this but to none existed…until the Ibracorp gods answered my pleas! What incredible timing!
Curious which part of the setup did you struggle with? And for future reference you can find help on the Notifiarr discord... No need to struggle alone!
Setting up a discord server and integrating the notifiarr notifications would be sweet Awesome video by the way. It's such a big topic to cover, I'm glad you guys did it
There are guides for both in the guides, as currently they do indeed work a little bit differently. Sonarr and Radarr are both covered, if you end up with questions, give the discords a visit with them, there are a lot of kind people around :)
Buddy thank you for making all these videos. Absolutely legendary. These are coming in clutch. I am running on windows but for setup of things in web ui or ui clients same deal so thanks alot. Super new to all this media server stuff and your videos are like gospel 🙌
Thanks a lot, this video is exactly what I was after! I often need to choose media based on the device it's intended to be played on. I don't need 4K if I'm watching on my phone, but I do for watching on my TV. I also don't need one movie taking up 60+ GB on my HHD. I also appreciate the clarity on x265 vs x265, which was a question I've had for a while. Cheers!
Thanks again for a great tutorial. However, I just wanted to point out that since the creation date of this video, Cloudflare has been changed in that it no longer has the "Allow" option for the WAF firewall rule. The most likely closest option I see in the drop down now is "Skip" but now there are a bunch of other options with checkboxes that I don't really understand. Do you have any guidance on this?
Hey IBRACORP great video, had a question at the point where you were editing the notifarr.conf file. I followed your guide for vscode and loving it so far but I can't open the notifarr.conf file without getting the error that it's either binary or unsupported text encoding. Would you happen to know what extension I need to open that type of file? Midnight commander works fine.
When using notifierr as a connect in both radarr and sonarr can you use multiple connects like adding plex as one or is that not a good idea because it will confuse notifierr?
Your videos has been guide for my monkey brain! Thank you so much for your effort. It would help a lot if you could create videos on Unpackerr as well..
I can use code-server to access most of the files on my server. But when I try to edit the config for Notifiarr I get access/permission issues. Any idea why that would happen?
Custom Formats are very powerful. And it can help you if you have certain preferences for what ever reasons. Example: you have a setup that supports Dolby Vision but also users using your plex that don't have a setup that support Dolby Vision. With Custom Formats you're able to prefer videos that have also fallback to HDR10. So it also works on other devices. The options are endless. Radarr Custom Formats and Sonarr Release profiles are to fine tune your preferred releases. If you don't care and fine with what ever you can get your hands on, then it it's not for you. Thnx for watching and your feedback.
@@ot7302 If you got the time for it, it's a option to do everything manual. But it beats the purpose of automation, and it might look much work but in the long run and setup correctly it's less work then searching for it manually being this is a one time setup. But as said before: Custom Formats is for fine tuning your preferred quality. If you don't care then you don't need to use it and use the normal automation way of Radarr/Sonarr based on the Quality Source + Resolution.
Just a heads up, you exposed all your API keys around the 17 min mark. That's pretty bad practice even if the apps are just running locally on your home server.
I really don't see the point for this Notifiarr. I mean, it sends notifications from arr's, via Discord :D Why don't you just put your Discord info directly in radarr/sonarr/lidarr?! I get notifications that way. Not to talk about that there is absolutely no install information anywhere on the website.
Few things can be mentioned such as a matter of having everything available in one place & not having to jump into 15 different apps to make changes. You'll get notification overload using default methods as they dont support updating notifications. There are many things it does outside of "just notifications" but that is here nor there. As for setting it up, every integration has an instructions tab and the wiki covers things as well :) It isn't intended for everyone, if you're happy with your setup then that is the best thing to do for sure!
@@austinbest9184 Can you post the link with instructions here? Because there is nothing on the website. And what do you mean by "they dont support updating notifications"? Can you elaborate?
Good information, but I'm not optimistic about it. I can't even get *arrs to abide the setting about minimum peers on torrents. And Radarr keeps telling Qbittorrent to grab a torrent that I have unmonitored, deleted, nuked from orbit multiple times. So far, I'm basically convinced the settings are there to give us the illusion of control but the apps will do what they want.
Hi need help I got up to where you gotta put in your external IP address (googled what is my IP) which I did and it's still not connecting to the client. I don't have a cloud flare DNS and I am using portainer on a qnap. Any help would be appreciated.
was gonna use this to sync the custom formats.. but i run on windows and as soon it got to docker client thing.... yeh it would be faster to just copy and paste everything manually i think
Plex doesn't really have much to do with this since the automation apps focus on your Library. In the connect tab you can add as many Plex instances as you want to allow it to push updates
If you don't already use Notifiarr and just want to keep things in sync, there is a script called recyclarr that can assist. It is not going to send notifications, no UI, etc but it is free and works if you don't mind setting up config files. Edit: for the record im not trying to advertise someone else's stuff that isn't notifiarr on a notifiarr video. Just giving more information for those who only want the sync logic in their setup. I don't think the dev will mind 🙃

Thank you to the whole IBRACORP Team I don't know where I would be with out you're guides.
Thank you!
Didn't know about custom formats, I was looking for preferred words like sonarr has. Glad you brought this up.

awesome stuff! kudos to all the amazing developers and maintainers
What's that editor you use? Pretty neat? I would need that for both Linux and Windows.
My notifiarr client layout doesn't look anything like this. The left hand side doesn't have "media requests."

Amazing, thanks very much!!
I notice the docker recyclarr is avaliable, what do you think of that? seems a little bit easier to get running then this...
It is a good option for those who dont mind doing everything via config files and dont use any of the other things Notifiarr does.
Good video. I used custom format to get atmos and remux, I will rewatch tomorrow as I just got off a 13h shift and I felt asleep mid video 😳
It's okay mate I do have a soothing voice to help you sleep 💤
@@IBRACORP not the video fault, just long day, im actually rewatching it right now after my short nap 🙂

So x265, there is nothing wrong with the encoding? The problem is people creating x265 files from non-source files?

I've donated, but don't see TRaSH Sync under dlient setup like at timestamp 21:14. What am I missing there?
I cant get over having to use Discord for notifiarr. Is there an alternative besides manually managing profiles in the other arrs?
another great guide :)

Is there any privacy concerns with Notifiarr talking to/from your self-hosted servers?
Yes.
The client is open source and runs locally, you can see everything it is doing.

@Rob de Jonge i did, but i had help off notifiarr on Discord they are great people on there to help
Hi and thanks for the video. Can I run this on Synology Docker?
Yes you should be able too! You just need to add the container information
notifiarr doesn't seem to need port forwarding anymore

The client runs native on windows.
Is it possible to add two plex servers? If so, how do we configure that?
Plex doesn't really have much to do with this since the automation apps focus on your Library. In the connect tab you can add as many Plex instances as you want to allow it to push updates
This is too complex for a user like me :), is there anyone who can set it up for me and foe sure they will be compensated for it ?
Your API key is in the video?
Don't stress, they have all been reset after the video was finished recording 🙂
Sucks that this is a premium feature!
Yes, but at the same times it's good to support the devs who spend a lot of time working on these services for us

Yeah, no. This is way too much work. Talk to TRaSH and ask him about a Special Quality Profile for your use case and everything is done automatically.
You still need to make sure your Custom Formats are added and in Sync, Especially if you're going to make use of the Special Quality Profile.
@@AlexanderWerginz Notifiarr does that.
