Bravissimo on your restoration but I have to tell you it's the stuff of nightmares.
I restored an '69 MGC a few years ago replacing the electrical system, interior, rebuilding the engine, exhaust system and replacing many if not most of the components under the car. But I passed over the rust underneath because it didn't look that bad and I wasn't really capable of doing the body work. Fast forward to today and I have an appointment this week at the body shop to get an estimate on what it would take to repair the castle rail and the floor. Watching your series on Replacing the Sills had me breaking out in a cold sweat. I have this vision of having to start over again by disassembling everything and staring over. At least I can say I now know what I didn't know back then.

Man many thanks! All that work over a Canadian winter and much of the time -15C in the garage, you could say I was "driven" (terrible pun I know). The replacement of the sills was daunting to start with but concerns eased with comparing my work benchmarking it with others and it seemed to be up to quality. Thank goodness I started the work on the passenger side which as it end up had much less rust damage than drivers side. The work doesnt end...I worked on the door internals today and replaced seals, welded up an emerging crack of doom on the door and resprayed. Good luck with the estimate PLEASE advise me what you are quoted and hopefully they will be as thorough with paint sealing as I have been, I can sleep at night knowing how fussy I was to ensure I did as good a job as I could! I also had underneath under sealed and I dont regret that move at all. I can see in my future lifting the engine to replace the clutch and fix some oil leaks but for now its time to enjoy....peace and health man!
