No that WAS the right play! @ 8:55 - 3 to a straight flush with one gap has a higher EV than the lone High Card, and much higher than 4 to a gutshot straight. ^_^

What it is dawg? what's best video poker machines in AC in your opinion? I have played casually at Ceasers and enjoyed it, both times a "fair" game just in my observation...mostly even though I play real small not like this, it if mmaters to anyone analyzing my opinion , i just play 25Cent max bet
3RF gives approximately 4000/1100 chance to hit Royal Flush which is worth less than the made pair of Kings. Holding the pair of Kings is right.
Playing high-bet VP ($25 and up), It's very hard to stop, even if you're up hundreds. At one point you were up $600, which is respectable, and could've cashed-out. But, then it's like, "ok, now what? Just go home?" LOL! Hell no! You want to keep playing to hit the Royal or High-dollar Quads! Smiles! Glad to see VP play instead of just watching the passive monotony of reel slots. Keep the VP vids coming...

Play VP how uou want play each deal. There are no mistakes especially when you know what to hold but occasionally go for something else. 100% optimal play isnt't always that. How many times do you see that inside straight draw come in when not holding it? I see it regularly.

You missed a straight draw the one time. 4,5,6,7 came up, and you held a pair. An eight came up when you pushed draw. You did good other than that.
I read your comment to my comment earlier, and I just want to say that I didn't know that was the strategy for the type of poker game you are playing in the video.

It depends on what the 2 pair is. 2 pair with aces you obviously only hold the aces. I didn’t design the strategy, I just try to stick too it! 🤣 Thanks for watching!
I think if you have two pair, try for the full house.. UNLESS .. one of thosepairsis Jacks or better. Then it seems to make sense to try for quads since two pair pays the same as jacks or better. That's the way I play if I play double double bonus... Which is fairly rarely.

Damn Mike, I'm not sure who said the higher denom's are looser, but this certainly wasn't an example! I thought you would have nailed at least one quad! We play pretty much the same, only thing I do different is hold the high cards when I get two pair hoping for four of a kind rather than a full house since the payout on double double for two pair is the same as a pair for Jack's or better. I think the high denom though, most people want that full house since it's only one card away and would be a $400 or $450 pay day out. I encourage you to speak your strategy out loud because I would like to learn more about how to play video poker intelligently.
Years ago I downloaded a video poker app that tracks your play. I highly recommend it. Mike was playing pretty decent strategy for jacks or better, but double double bonus poker is different, the app corrects you as you play.. a week playing on the app and you’ll be perfect or near perfect in play.

It was a decent machine for awhile.I think you played the cards good.there is maximum strategy and then there's go with your gut.I play both ways based on whatever the machine is giving me.I've sat down a few months ago on a 1$ denom machine,1st hand held 2 aces,then got AA 4 on the draw.other times spent a grand and didn't win shit
I used to play double down poker. Till a friend showed me penny slots, basically all I playnow ..Still go back to it time 2 time....just like how guys still love the old school slots..At borgata their getting rid of alto of them..heard nugget is too

you did few mistakes but the biggest one is when you up 50% take your money out. do not try for a royal take the small profit goes to dinner shopping on the casino.
Betting the max (5) gives you a bonus on the RF.
You'll get that $40K royal eventually!

I play Gold bonus video poker with $25-$40 I hit $40 bonus twice I lose sometimes got $15 bonus like 10 minutes ago $15 is between the $500 bonus and the $1000 bonus on the bonus spin wheel you have to get a Winning hand with the gold cards for the bonus spin...I messed it up once and discarded 2 Aces one of the bonus spins

I am addicted to playing video poker. You played basic strategy for jacks or better/bonus poker pretty good, but double double bonus is different... I’d say you was about 80%.

The only Two Pair hand that you split is Aces up due to the expected value of drawing to quad Aces exceeding the expected value of the full house draw. All other high Two Pair hands have a higher expected value for the full house draw than by splitting the pairs and playing for trips/quads.

When I’m playing seriously, meaning not a $10 machine, because I don’t have the bankroll to play with low enough ROR. My profits are set ahead of the session. Usually I play $2-$5 games max. When I’m up on Slots I’ll throw a few grand in a $10 or $25 games just to see what happens!!! Thanks guys for watching

Unfort in AC your have to put in a ratio of 3:1 to have a chance at a High Limit jackpot..not always but usually. It used to be easier 10 years ago. Things are tighter.

Basic strategy says always hold the money, never discard a winning hand to go for a Royal

Aces up is the only Two Pair hand you split the pairs on in DDB (and TDB, Super DDB, etc.). The expected value of quad Aces outweighs the expected value of a full house in that one situation; with all other Two Pair hands, the expected value of the full house is higher.

@@gatesyslots So you get extremely favorable draws. Mathematically, there's always the chance that one could draw a whole royal flush after discarding quad 3's, but that doesn't make it the proper strategic play, does it?
Check out the work of established, trusted VP experts such as Bob Dancer or Skip Bayles. I'll bet you'd get an eye-opening education... maybe.
@@michaelcoloradogambler1171 to tell you the truth, I've never really cared about proper play according to someone else, I think that is more geared for actual card games, not playing against computer with a random number generator. I'm only speaking from my own experiences. Pretty much all my play is video poker, weather it is DDBP, TDBP, BP, JP, or DW, I've hit over 20 jackpots with W2Gs last year, and welll over 20 that were under $1,199, I'm not a high roller by any means, but do play $1 denoms now and then. I have noticed people going for full houses on higher denom games, and I understand why. However on DD bonus poker I always hold the high pair and hope for quads especially when there is a kicker card in the game. I have hit quads many times holding just a pair, and I never hold the kicker on a three card draw, I'd rather use that extra spot for thec4th card, regardless of what any expert says. I never knew there were VP experts? Unless they are the guys who program them like IGT. This is only my opinion, and it works well for me on 25 cent, 50 cent, and $1 denoms, and I'm not critizing anyone else on how they like to play.

Here's a quick lesson on VP -- yes, the cards are generated by a RNG; each card is equally represented by one number in the RNG, so the game behaves exactly like a deal from a freshly shuffled deck on every hand. The casino does not manipulate wins or payouts that way; rather, it alters the payback by changing the amount each hand pays. That is why careful examination of a VP machine's paytable is paramount in determining whether it's worth playing or not. And due to the mathematical nature of draw poker (and video poker is an electronic version of draw poker), every hand dealt has one best, optimal play that will return the most money over the long run.
Anyone can win money at a casino game in the short-term. You say you've hit many jackpots and higher-paying non-jackpot wins. Even taking that claim at face value, that only tells part of the story. Are you in plus territory lifetime, or are you at break-even or minus territory for your gambling lifetime?
Let me close with this: I'm a math guy. When it comes to gambling, I trust the numbers. I hope I win on any given session, but if I'm playing a negative-expectation game, such as slots, I expect I'll lose. Even on positive-expectation games like some VP games, I expect I'll have some losing sessions. But if I play those positive-expectation games according to proper, mathematically proven strategy, I can expect to be a winner in the long run. I suspect you'll probably end up a net loser in the long run as long as you continue to play in the manner that you do. But don't let me stand in the way of your happiness!
It’s your money, but you’re denying yourself equity keeping 2 pair with 1 already being a paying pair. The odds of getting a boat vs denying yourself the chance at quads plus trips being an improvement doesn’t work out in your favor. Thanks for the video though.
