One of my favorite sketches ever, just with Meyers' "There's Scotland, There's Ireland, There's the Bloody Sea !!"
For once, we’re on the same page.
It's absolutely my favorite line of all time.
@@scottmacdonald3438 i remember repeating that line for years after this aired....
I'm crying from laughing.
😂😂
“It’s like all Scottish cuisine is all based on a dare!”
A line so great, it was used in So I Married an Axe Murderer
Great Movie. Peak Myers.
Do your children smell like chicken soup ?
This character is who stuart mackenzie from so i married and axe murderer was based on, they even have the same first name
Scotland has a Martial Arts … it’s
called “Fuck You!!l” actually it’s not much more than Head Butting kicking people when they’re on the ground
We have a Piper down
My dad was from Glasgow and he loooooooved this sketch. Laughed his head off. We'd recite it all the time.
Mike: "Scotland and Ireland are two completely different places"
Kyle: Starts talking in an Irish accent
Aye
Both actors nailed the accent brilliant. Was all Scottish.
Couldn’t tell the difference, it’s all the same 😂
@@benitomaldonado7080 . You lack acute ear. It was strong Scottish I heard. Good job.
I see what you are saying lol maybe thats the inside joke
"all of the Scottish cuisine is based on a dare" this had me rolling.
Mike Myers brought some of the Python absurdity to SNL, bless him.
Myers has to be one of the most refreshingly original cast members to ever be on this show
That goddamn bagpipe that plays when the door opens kills me.
Sounds like a dying animal
Death by bagpipe. Interesting. Suggesting it is a weapon? 😂
Godgiven tools are divine for the inhabitants of the House of Good. (HOUSE of GOD)
To solve an Einstein riddle. God and the dices.. Alea Acta Est. God created all, including our own intelligence and as humans invented the dices, God created them through a human mind attentive to intelligent inspiration. Thus they were co-created with God, as the person creating them was listening to his/her soul intelligently sending a ray of golden light. It is called inspiration. Creation is maintained by divine inspiration from God through our divine souls that were created to mirror the divine great master soul that is the soul of Holy Mother Mary. She's intelligence and the Holy Father is good intentions. Need to unite those 2 to generate Golden hearted inspiration. All great souls listen to the golden ideas. Plato through Saint Augustine through (I am Platonic. Souls are divine receivers of golden rays.) the Platonic legacy (The CORE of Christianity).
James Clerk Maxwell (as well as William Alistair McDonald) lived around 100 years ago. Maxwell's greatness is his web based mind. The first colour picture was of a Tartan pattern.
Kyle MacLachlan understands comedic timing. It's a shame he's usually used in more dramatic roles because he's absolutely hilarious and his chemistry with Meyers is perfect! Such a great, underrated actor!
Well said. Kyle MacLachlan is a fantastic actor.
He's going to be in the upcoming fallout TV show. I'm sure he's going to have a funny role in it.
its Myers
Agree. He did better than Walken did with this same sketch.
Remember, he was the mayor of Portland in Portlandia so he’s got some comedy in his credits.
RIP Jan Hooks
"Oh its the same thing is it? Look There's Scotland, There's Ireland, There's the Bloody Sea. They're different. Now GET OUT! " LOL
You forgot ...' HAVE A LOOK AT THE MAP !!! THERE SCOTLAND THERE IRELAND AND THERE A BLOODY SEA !!!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Dam right
"If it's not Scottish it's CCCCRRRAAAAAAAAPP! "
“Here’s Scotland! Here’s Ireland! Here’s the bloody sea!”
I still quote that line.
I just love to imagine Shrek saying everything that Mike Myers says here.
As a Scot, let me just say this is 110% accurate.
Kyle’s weird accent aside, I love how Mike rolls his arms when he steps up for a fist fight. “Ladle oot the laldy!”
I thought that was pretty funny too
I was raised by a Scottish mother who was born 1/2 hour from Glasgow Scotland. Nobody could understand her, but to me she was fluent English. I did learn all the slang such as fags are cigarettes, lori's are trucks, lifts are elevators. Since moving to Canada in the 1950's her accent stayed with her till the day she passed. I still remember her freaking out screaming "There's a moose in my hoose!" I told her it was impossible as a moose could not get through the door because of its big antlers! She slapped me in the head and said "A BLOODY MOOSE YOU IGIT!" I learned quickly......a moose in the hoose, means mouse in the house! Good times!
My wife is from Greenock, but been in usa for 30 years, accent not as heavy. She has a hard time understanding her mom in Scotland.
You might enjoy Gavin MacInnes telling stories aboot his dad, Jimmy. He does the accent rather well.
Great wee antidotes of your mother. Especially the moose story lol and yup we do call them lorries and lifts.
Oh why did you have to bring up mum, I love you
@@MrClearview1 yup that's where she was from Greenock ;o)
A few years back, I met a very nice elderly Scottish couple here in Vegas. I couldn't understand one single word the husband said but luckily his wife was able to translate it for me.
today of all days to see this episode ... RIP Sean Connery !!
"There's Ireland, There's Scotland. There's the Bloody sea" 😅🤣😅😅🤣😅🤣
love how they go from Scottish, to Irish, to Welsh accents all in one sentence!
Recently I found out that, on my father's side, the first ancestor to come to America arrived from Scotland by way of Belfast in 1750 (He was born in Inverness in 1732). The first thing I thought of was, "If it's not Scottish, it's crraap!"
Interesting artistic choice, the way those accents gave us a complete tour of the British Isles. And some choice parts of Iceland too.
Mike Myers does an awesome Scottish accent! This is how he developed fat bastard for Austin powers and later on Shrek! 🏴
As a Scot this really offends me. Were not as easy going as portrayed here, completly inacurate.
From the south.... Edinburgh
A good friend of mine is from Glasgow. He is very easy going.
@@bfettrulez6734 must have English blood 😆
@@j.g.m7919 Aye this really pisses me off mate
The scots, easily offended.
"You've just committed patricide, son." "Dad don't be dramatic." "STICK ME IN A LONG BOAT, SET IT A BLAZE, PISS ME OUT TO SEA."
"Irish, Scottish, its the same thing."
Lady..... run.
Ah the same thing let’s look at the map
Here’s Scotland, Here’s Ireland there’s the Bloody sea they’re different if you want to know two countries that are the same it’s United States and Canada
I can't believe the cast are actually looking at each other in this one.
how could you not stare at Kyle's lovely face
Kyle Maclachlan has awesome delivery!
I met a fella from Scotland.Asked if he would call my brother and say,IF ITS NOT SCOTTISH ITS CRAAAP!....he said sure....called.....im still laughing this minute.....
Jan Hooks was really beautiful back then.
Fun fact: Scottish Pizza is just regular pizza but DEEP FRIED!
It was a little different in Italy,
Savages
Deep fried Pizza is the best example of Scottish food being based on a dare.
Mike Myers got a lot of sketches that episode with Kyle MacLaughlin. The two also did that more famous Sprockets sketch about "Germany's Most Disturbing Home Videos" that episode.
"Now is the time on Sprockets when we dance!"
They only did 2 or 3 of these they should have made it a regular bit. There was so much potential in this
Didn't it used to be just a scotch tape store?
@@jmartin1774 You are right. Probably just used the same set.
"Say goodbye to life" lol
"All thing Scottish and Pizza" - how gold is this?!
Wouldn't you think Victoria Jackson would have learned the lesson this time and not come back the next time looking for a tartan for a Polish family?
Woah, The black lodge certainly messed up Agent Cooper
SatanBeMyRadar is it him ? From the twin peaks ? :o
Lol. I’m betting there’s some black coffee sitting behind the counter.
Mike Myers is a comedic genius...and Paul Ma'ud Dib got lost on his way to Arrakis! 😉
'Ow boot a wee bit o'Melange there, lass!
Nice pull!
I’m Scottish, from Glasgow, and think this is great,he’s got a few of the Scottish traits spot on!👍
Mike Myers dad is a hundred percent scottish
Why are father and son wearing different tartans? 🤔
No wonder he called him a bastard. Must be adopted or a stepson.
3 different plaids! It hurt my brain. LOL
Meyer had three different patterns on between the kilt, vest and cap. They just raided the plaid section of wardrobe
Yeah, I’m an American, and even I noticed that and even if he was adopted, he would still wear his father’s tartan
You wouldn't say that if his mum were there!...
Jackie Stewart's head, lol.
2:43 He would make a good geography teacher.
Funny that Kyle, of Scottish descent, cannot do a Scottish accent.
ThefakeMrChristophel are his parents Scottish? He is born in USA
his accent sounded sort of irish lol
Dude I'm Scottish and I can't do it, it's a bizarre accent.
He sort of did pull off a Scottish accent, I mean we don't only have just one accent you know. He sounded fairly Hebridean, which is softer yet still undeniably Scottish. If you don't get what I mean then google Outlander and listen to James Frasier and you'll get it.
@@robyortichella7412 He has a Scottish surname you ignoramus, thus there is almost certainly some Scottish Ancestry. If somebody said they claimed to have Irish or Italian ancestry I bet you would not have questioned it.The guy above wasn't saying he was Scottish, he was just saying he had some ancestry.
I'm glad only one commenter pointed out that Kyle's accent is more Irish than Scottish.
John Smith
😁😁😁😁😁
More west Highland than Irish.
I’m Irish and I agree
Oh, Irish, Scottish, it's the same thing...
No! The Scottish came through brilliantly.Difficulty factor, Mike & other actor both nailed it.
My mom had a Scottish friend, loved hearing her accent
Note to self... Don't piss off a temper scottish
mike Myers is Canadian and both his parents were English but he got his love of scots from his friends parents in Toronto
Well anyway his family is of English, Scottish and Irish ancestry. Myers was raised Protestant.
Mike Myers' father was Scottish.
@@kaveman1021 No he wasn't. His parents are Scousers from Liverpool.
BAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!! The best part of this skit is when he throws Victoria Jackson out of the store, when he slams the door shut, the dying bagpipes are STILL going off.....even after the door is shut!!!!!! BAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!! I keep rewinding that part & my side hurts from laughter!!!!!!!!!!
1:26 That's an Irish accent! I should know, I'm Scottish
Agreed!
wait, I thought they just said they are the same place
Just got word that Sean Connery passed. A very entertaining Scot.
I'm hearing Fat Bastard and Shrek..with a dash of Dr. Evil.
No Charlie and Stuart Mackenzie?
Meyers loves doing that Scottish accent lol and i love him doing the accent
49% Irish, 49% Swedish, 2% Scottish accent 😂
'Welcome to All Things Scottish, if its not Scottish, it's CRAAPP!!!'
Yeh he was doing closer to Irish by a mile, with a bit of Welsh.
+Ted D no he wasn't
+Big RED AYE he was
No hint of Welsh in this at aw. Irish maybe yes but nae Welsh...
“MAHGIC” 😂
I've been looking for this. So glad it's finally up. I always quote it when people say Scotland and Ireland are the same thing.
That’s it, pick. Window, pick a window to go through😂
Mike Meyers doing a Scottish character? Good to see him going outside his comfort zone
Well, this is before his more famous Scottish characters...
How many accents can you do?
....As if Mike Myers isn't the one who pioneered the idea of Scottish characters being funny to North Americans
love the bag pipes door chime
Kyle, trying to go for the 99% Irish and 0% Scottish accent there?
Kruegerfan97 whats the other 1%?
10% Irish, 90 % fuck knows where.
I definitely hear some Welsh in there, and maybe a touch of Liverpool.
He says they've lived in America for 10 years, his accent's morphing.
rest in peace Sean.
Mike Myers always been an animal in the game.
Say goodbye to life haha
Producer: "Mike we'd like you be in our production- - any ideas?" Myers: "How about I play with with a Scottish accent?" - Everytime
His parents are hundred percent scottish
His son is Irish? Mum probably ran into a leprechaun on the way home
Tacky, but voted up.
MAGIC!!🎉🎉😂😂
I clicked on this just because the title was funny, but when I realized it was *fucking Kyle* I just about died.
I was in my college's bagpipe band and we semi-seriously tried to get Mike to MC a concert we put on in character as Stewart MacKenzie. We failed.
Kyle can be everything and everyone he wants. hilarious this pieces. 😅😅😋
I’m dying 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Nostalgia's a strange thing. I remember this as being funny. :-)
it hurts, it HURRTS
This is for the wonderful Sir Sean Connery 💚🍀🧙🏻♂️ Scotland. RIP❤️🔥🙏
RIP Sean ♥
Mike is a super actor, very funny impersonations
There is a Scottish shop similar to this, in George St in Dunedin, NZ. Just before the octagon.
Ms Jan was a star...versatile .... pretty lady..very sad passing RIP ✝️
This is like watching my everyday life
This is my family actually.
One question, why is there a London beefeater bear in the window?
This reminds me of all the times my pipe major and his son go at it when we get together to play.
I love their chemistry.
I love their trigonometry.
2:43 My reaction when someone says were the same 'hing.
+Unrustle your jimmies So you always have a map in your pocket just in case? xD
I suppose you can say that, lol.
the "doorbell" is hilarious.
Aww, don’t give Kyle a hard time.. Three days ago, he didn’t even know he’d be doing this bit.. Anyway, you can always say he spent part of his early childhood in Dublin, and came to work with his dad while he was going to Uni in the US.. So it’s logical that he would point out quickly that Ireland and Scotland are two different places.. ;-)
I am Scottish and this is class we love to see it 👍🏴🏴🏴
The way Kyle does an Irish accent is everything.
Funny line , “all of Scottish cuisine is based on a dare.”
Just saw here on UA-cam that they tried this sketch out first with Christopher Walken, and it was cut from the show. Then here it is again with almost the exact same script with Kyle MacLachlan, and this time it flew.
“If it’s not Scottish, it’s CRAP!”
*_IT HURTS_*
Thé two could not be more distinct lol
if its not scottish, its crap.
Bonnie Lockwood
All this talking about accents and missing the fun. Thank you, Bonnie, for pointing out the important bit!
It Is not its
R.I.P. Sean Connery 10/31/20
2:47 that would be me if I was a Geography teacher in the US if they said what's the difference
This cracks me up)
this is the true ending of Dune, where Paul is alive in a kilt selling Scottish things with Shrek...
Kyle maclachlan. Love it
