    Question
    So I’m facing a problem with my workflow, I created this character that I textured in painter and then exported the mesh and uvs to use the mixamo rigging, here come the problem when i export the alembic animation from C4D to keyshot for rendering, I start applying the textures via subs. But it ends up screwing the animation making the texture applied mesh static which ruins my animation

    hi. I want to export from keyshot to substance painter only as a material or as a coating on an object. Can you suggest an explanatory source on this subject? because I can't export it.

    Thanks for the nice tutorial, but for some reason that doesn't seem to work here, each time I import a cube the textures are too small in SP and when I try with other models and export to keyshot the results are even worse, way too smal texture blocks using the UV exported from SP, strange would have been great to get this working.

    Thanks Mike, exactly the workflow i want. Only problem is you need the material graph...meaning Keyshot PRO at $2000 AUD. I just have the educational version = Keyshot HD $125 AUD (no material graph)

    Can you do a tutorial for the UDIMM workflow from Substance to Keyshot since it uses a different node system? I can't seem to get the roughness correct.

    I have an issue when importing into Keyshot. Every .obj file I import gets blacked out and I get a bunch of error messages saying "Cannot load texture used by material" default mat"

    What if I want to use UDIM ? how to do that

    i would love a more advanced tutorial. I'm trying to render a metal sword with a leather grip. Substance painter exported them all in one map so they're all coming out as metal when I apply the textures.

      SP should export them as individual maps

    Hello I got a question. So you see I imported an obj file with simple animation into keyshot and added a texture map for it. The texture also came from outside keyshot. The animation works fine in keyshot the problem is when the object moves it is leaving behind the texture. Kinda like the texture is being pulled off as the object moves. Is there a way in Keyshot to lock the textures onto the objects so that when they move the textures will move along with it... Thanks.

      Karl, I have never ever seen that happen. It sounds like a software or hardware bug. Have you asked Keyshot ?

    • @karleclaire

      Yeah I'll try asking them too. I'll try reinstalling both softwares as well thanks for the quick reply!

    Awesome video. 1 question though. How do you make the rough/rusted spots not reflective? Because in this video everything looks the same material wise. All shiny. In substance painter you can paint with 2 different materials on 1 object. How would you transfer that to keyshot?

    • @MHTutorials3D
      @MHTutorials3D  7 років тому +1

      You would do that with a custom specular map ( for example made in Photoshop ) and then imported
