this was in the times when everybody was using transistors and needed power to drive low sensitivity speakers. for back then it was a great amplifier without a doubt but today there are better amplifiers available with larger and more power driver tubes and interstage transformers. 211 is too much power and a brute sounding tube. Kondo used silver to compensate for the bruteness of the 211. instead of using brute sounding tubes with silver there is a better way getting better results by using more refined tubes such as 2A3 or 45 and use horn or higher sensitivity speakers

Kondo Ongako 211 one of the best ever ?
