Stage 1: Denial
In Make My Sonic, Sonic is putting it all into re-inventing himself yet again despite only being able to come up with mutations that don't even make a difference
Stage 2: Anger
The hedgehog lashes out against Eggman by making his video game effectively worthless out of spite
Stage 3: Bargaining
Sonic tries to reset it all in Movie Maker, to retell his story with a darker subplot to bring back the spotlight
Stage 4:Depression
He retreats inward and just sits in his apartment watching what I can only assume to be hedgehog porn with his room-mate, a demented groupie lingering from the Sonic the Hedgehog glory days
Stage 5: Acceptance
The point in the process that takes the most effort to reach. Sonic looks out into an empty horizon, witnessing an empire of dirt. He partakes in the meaningless fetch quest leftover from the failed MMO. Through a display of true humility. Sonic reaches a sort of enlightment and accepts the multiplatform state he's in.
...or it's just a weird game mocking the sonic fanbase.

Well because it's a game. When people get a game they haven't played before, they usually expect standard video game rules to apply. This had none of them so it basically caught any one who played it completely off guard.

Sonic was my childhood. Deviantart, Furraffinity, etc. turned it into something horrifying. You cannot take away my childhood.
