this performance makes my heart melt. it's kind of sad to watch because it was their last time on stage together a couple of months before Chris Kelly passed. Rest Easy Chris Kelly
I know, they could have done those smaller theater shows for 2,500 to 4000 people that places like foxwoods and other casinos, and it wasn't like they were too old to perform they were in their mid-30s they could have performed for 20 more years at a high level. It's not like guys that wrapped in their 30s and now they are in their '50s trying to still perform these dudes were still young men.
Kelly had mad stage presence & energy here. You could see the joy all over him. I was hoping this would spark a comeback. Kris Kross helped contribute to the soundtrack of some of the happiest times in my life. R.I.P. Mac Daddy.
It was probably the worst thing to have happened, because they were such a huge deal back when they were small kids, being on stage with Michael Jackson, and hanging out with Michael Jordan, then time came for them to grow up, and of course kelly wanted more from fame, it was just too much pressure for him, to deal with the after effects of childhood fame, which is why drugs became his escape route, so giving him a taste of that old limelight was enough for him to go home, get super high, after realizing that he was never gonna be as big as he was during his childhood stardom, the light skin chris adapt to his new life easier, because he probably had better mentors around him.
@@mcgyverb1664but if they were able to tour performing their own songs he would have probably adapted better? RIP sweet boy! He will always be that sweet boy with the sweet cheeks to me. That’s how I will forever remember him. 😢
You can tell they each sincerely truly missed and loved each other as brothas & partnas, they were looking at each other more than looking at the crowd, at 7:10 is where you really notice it, I get choked up & teary eyed. I basically grew up with KK, we're the same ages, I'm a Decatur OG, my childhood was their childhood.
The dopest thing about this group is they never beefed. Never dissed each other or none of that fake shit. Still was able to come together and rock it 20 years later. This is what we call TIMELESS. I grew up with these cats and my sincerest condolences go out to Chris Kelly and his family. Rest In Power brother. Hip Hop forever
Chris Kelly went hard in this performance! So much energy and passion for his music. Still rocked the jeans backwards too. Sad loss, but definitely forever remembered. Double K's are legends now. Respect to Chris Smith for doing big things with his Art. Shout out to Urbane Muse
I will never forget... my first concert ever was seeing Kris Kross while visiting my family in the south. Love them FOREVER! May you rest peacefully Mac Daddy.
I was the biggest Kris Kross fan back in the day when I was a little girl. I still have all the Kris Kross posters, fan letters, casette tapes, etc. Saw them in concert. I went through a depression about two years ago, and listened to a lot of things that reminded me of my childhood to cheer me up. Kris Kross was at the top of that list. Any true 90s kid and Kris Kross fan lost a piece of their childhood when Chris Kelly passed away.
This makes me teary eyed. Even after all those years they still had that old school swag. Such a shame Mac daddy passed these two were such an incredible duo!
I find it very odd that Chris "Mac Daddy" Kelly shout outs the musicians who died (Biggie and Left Eye for example) before they perform the song they did with Da Brat and Jermaine Dupri. And then we hear on May 1, 2013, he passes away. That just goes to show you we all don't know how long we have to live on this earth. All we can do is live each and every day as if it was our last. I'm glad we were able to see Kris Kross reunite though. So much love to Chris "Mac Daddy" Kelly for being the excellent superstar that he was and that he'll always be remembered for that. Rest in Peace.
My homie Kelly's birthday is this Sunday, August 11th. He would have been 35. So as we his friends along his family as well as the Smith Family celebrate his life this weekend, I ask everyone to continue to pray for his mother and the rest of the Kelly, Pratte and Williams Family. Pray for my brother, Chris Smith as well. God bless all the KK fans and supporters!!!! LOVE LIVE THE MAC DADDY!!!!
so nice to see this. they did an awesome job and the songs sound good even in their fully developed non-prepubescent voices. I hate that Chris Kelly had to leave so soon afterwards. I was so ready for a reunion tour and new music.
I attended elementary and middle school with both Chrises and known them for 25 plus years. I went to Daddy Mac's house yesterday afternoon. This is a hurtful loss to all of us. Chris Smith is just trying to build the strength to be able to attend the homegoing services this Thursday. It is hard for all of us right now. But on behalf of Kris Kross, I am here to answer the questions you may have as KK fans. Nothing too personal tho. I want to be respectful to them as well as their families. RIP
I'm a bit late to respond, but I wonder why they retired after "Young, Rich & Dangerous"? That was their best album. Did they not feel like making music anymore? Or did Jermaine Dupri not support them anymore?
I get goosebumps watching this, adore Kris Kross and man, don't half miss Chris Kelly!! Sending lots of love to all who are reading this right now!! ❤️🙏🏼
R.I.P, cutie-pie. This is a great last performance, his flow is off the chain. Daddy Mac needed a better mic or better projection with his voice. Overall, they still had it:)

Kris kross was my fav group and I remember how pumped I was to hear they were going to reunite for a show in atl. I live half way across the country from atl and something told me to go and I'm so glad I did. Makes it a special moment I will never forget.
I'm looking at Daddy Mac's pants and instantly remembered his line "...on the playground I say now you won't see me swingin, skin tight clothes and you don't be singin..."
This was sad to watch because it was their first performance in years and their last time on stage together before Kris Kelly died the next month. Rip Kris Kelly 💔
Mac Daddy definitely rocked this. His voice sounded awesome. I'm very saddened by this loss. Just why..Rest in Peace Chris, we'll always love you and cherish that time we all miss.
Omg didn’t know how much I needed this. I used to wear a few of my jerseys backwards back in the day. Not all the time. As a girl I was told not to but I didn’t care, I did it anyway lol. Tried to do it with my Jesus but it just didn’t work lol. I would have loved to have seen Kriss Kross on tour , especially before the tragic passing , but glad to see them together like this. Takes me back. 80s and 90s were the best time in music . No I’m not saying that there aren’t good songs out now, but 80s and 90s music just had that extra something. Haven’t even to a hip hop show in a long time, but do see Freestyle Concerts with 80s artiste]s. Would love to see an ups/90s hip hop tribute concert. I was about 12 and a neighbor had 2nd row seats for LL COOL J and asked if I wanted to go. The venue was only 10 minutes from my house. But my grandmom said no, because my neighbor wasn’t old enough to watch out for me (in her opinion ). She was older than me and we would have been fine. Oh I was sooooo mad to have missed that! Lo.l. Sorry to ramble on, or stray off topic, this music just takes me back,
I just watched a short documentary on Kriss Kross, then the video Chris Kelly made before he died, then the phone call to the radio show he was going to be on that morning but then they found him dead a few hours later. Then watched his funeral where other Chris gave a great speech and said right before they came out on stage for this he ran across the other side of the stage to tell him something like "let's kill it". Said he acted so happy to be performing again. Finally, I watched this. What? I got something in my eyes man! Shutup

RIP Chris Kelly aka Mac Daddy. Met you a few times here in ATL back in the day and you were always cool. It was just a little over two months ago you were performing the So So Def Anniversary. I have nothing but good memories. I miss the bus was the song one morning my step father was station in Japan. I got up bumping their CD i got for Christmas and I miss the bus was on repeat over and over again. My mom got up thinking I had school I am in the living room having a live concert like I was on stage lol She came out the room why you not at school you miss the bus. She thought I was celebrating I miss the bus for real. I was like no momma there is no school silly lady. This is the name of the song lol. My mom was hip she was still young I guess waking up out her sleep was alarming lol She still remembers that and laughs. I know you making the Angels Jump Jump in the heavens. R.I.H. Kris Kelly aka Mac Daddy. Much love and respect to his family members and close friends and JD for introducing the world to these young men we grew up with.
This was so energetic and beautiful. A young life gone too soon but I am glad they had this performance together before Kelly passed away. Nostalgic and so deep. Love it
I literally just watched this about a month ago & was SO hyped to see them back @ it. When I got my 1st Walkman, the Kris Kross cassette tape was my 1st 1 ever. I was about 7 yrs. old & I listened to that album front to back, with my headphones in rapping almost every word. Clothes to the back, music videos & all. I was a HUGE fan of this trendsetting duo! Sad to hear about this young life lost..May his spirit be at peace! "Warm it up in the afterlife Chris!" R.I.P. hun.

😢 so sad he was so talented. You could tell they were polished performers ❤ I was locked in watching it shaking my head 😢 wish he was still here.
Bro this performance brought tears to my eyes. It was their turn to start touring again! They definitely made impact on my life. 🔥🔥
AWESOME!! Thank you so much and R.I.P…
viejos recuerdos escuchava mucho a kris kross buenisima musica
"Warm it up in the afterlife Chris!" R.I.P. hun.
