The main problem with this unit is that he's dressed in red white and blue, with armor decorated with stars, blonde hair and glorious chin, and is a self-proclaimed champion of JUSTICE, yet he doesn't have a gun. It's just not real justice without a gun.
"I love you more than Justice. But don't tell Justice that I said that." You sir just made my day by thinking that his confession part would contradict himself.
Another fantastic character. Not only is he a great unit when raised correctly, but he's such a damn amazing character in my opinion. Yeah, he looks the part of a flat-character, but numerous supports reveal much more beyond that. According to his supports with Azura, he believes in the ideal of justice and helping each other because his parents were such a major influence on him. Living a happy childhood but desiring to help others, he enlisted in the Nohrian military for the chance to protect others. This alone is extremely admirable, but the way he has his atrocious luck and yet accepts it as part of him and learns to help others regardless is something I take MASSIVE inspiration from, as somebody with a disability myself. Yes, Arthur doesn't have any meaningful character development on his end, but I feel like he doesn't really need one; he's a character whose arc was completed before the game, and he largely sorted out his issues with his luck problems in a similar fashion to, say, Yuri Lowell from Tales of Vesparia; both characters already had their issues mostly wrapped up, and the reason why they're so likable is because the growth on their end is palpable and noticeable. Overall, Arthur represents a person we should all take inspiration from; not only helping others with no demand for a reward, but also learning to overcome and accept your flaws and always strive to be a better person. That's what Arthur means to me, and that makes him my fourth favorite Fates character. FOR JUSTICE!
Here's a bit of trivia - Percy does have a high base luck growth that is higher than any other unit in the game (but since that growth is modded by his mother it isn't always the highest, depending on who marries Arthur), but because stat caps are directly inherited from both parents, he will always have at least a -1 modifier to his max luck. Also, if Arthur marries Elise and Percy is changed to a Lodestar, he will have a 97.5% luck growth. Grab Aptitude from a castle and he's one of the few units capable of >100% growth in a stat
+Kryptnyt She is technically an adult by biological standards, and as Leo states in the English localization. It is also likely to be acceptable to marry and have children at such an age due to the feel of the era in which Fates takes place, in which women often married fairly young compared to today.
Arthur is my favorite character in the game, hands down. I don't care if he's a gimmick, I don't care if he isn't the greatest unit, I don't care if he's a little stupid. His support dialogue is always funny to me, no matter who the partner is, his character trope is one of my favorites, and in combat, his rng swings always leave me lmaoing. For sheer entertainment value, Arthur gets a 7/7. He may be NEVER LUCKY, but there will ALWAYS be justice in Pokémon, I mean, Fire Emblem.
Assuming you're referring to Sumia's daughter Cynthia from awakening, I could honestly see him trying to take her under his wing, and she would most likely jump at the chance to learn from an actual hero of justice.
I'd love a spotlight on Rinkah, partially because she has my favorite character design of any Fire Emblem character and partially so you have to look her up to see what you missed by letting her die.
Since he has high HP, Strength, and Defense growths I made Arthur into a general via friendship seal and it worked out pretty well. Wary Fighter helps cover his lack of Speed and what makes him stand out from other generals is that he mostly focuses on using axes rather than spears.
"Marry Arthur to Nyx" I have a good tip Don't do this Nyx will give Percy bowbreaker, yes But you're crippling Arthur when you do this, when pairing Arthur with Effie can boost his survivability PLUS it gives Effie a good strength boost
it annoys me how you refer to characters unique personality traits as 'gimmicks', I'd much prefer quirk, idk about anyone else, but it just slightly annoys me when you refer to it like that
"They are gimmicks.Basically pretty much all of fates characters follow a anime trope or stereotype causing them to be one dimensional" * cough cough Birthright cough cough * No,but in all seriousness, that's an exageration on a lot of them.
I always field Arthur for one reason: Those sweet, sweet Berserker pair up stats. He's permanently behind Effie and turning her from a fantastic unit to an absolute goddess. Her strength lets her one shot everything enemy phase with Javelins, especially with her personal boosting her strength even more. She becomes an unkillable murder machine. Always use charlotte and Arthur, even if just for that.
I am so happy to share a birthday with Arthur, and he also has my favorite voice actor of all time. Thanks for this one Mangs, Love Arthur to death and you too!
For anyone not adverse to using DLC, Arthur MASSIVELY benefits from the Vanguard skill Veteran's Intuition (which can also be obtained as a scroll in the Vanguard Dawn DLC), which grants +15 crit avoidance. Greatly mitigates his chances of randomly exploding.
If you plan on using Arthur please remember that Bezerkers have an innate -5 critical avoid, this will make Arthur even more succeptable to crits than he already is which can prove absolutely detrimental to his survivability. Hero will grant him access to Sol which gives him some form of regeneration as well as well as access to Ax Breaker and any bonus avoid he can gain means that Ax users probably will no longer crit him. Bezerkers are a little dangerous but it can be funny to exceed 100% crit chance but just remember, there is nothing you can do to eliminate Arthur's succeptibility to crits even with every Goddess Icon in the game. Hero while not as hilarious is much safer and retains Arthur's color palette.
first off, if you have been investing goddess icons onto Arthur, you should be able to max out his luck quickly as a Berserker since he has little luck have both from Arthur himself and from the class. Thing is enemy crits aren't going to be that bad if you know how to handle them. If you have max luck, most non crit happy classes will not have crit chance against him. One thing I did do was bring his son along to negate his weaknesses better and dual attacking allows the two to better handle elite ninjas on enemy phase. Arthur's best strengths are around mid to end game. With the prevalence of berserkers, generals, great knights and ninjas, Arthur can do extremely well against them.
For the first time yesterday I got Charlotte to have 100% crit, I was so happy. I also gave her hit 40+ and I'm thinking about buying vantage and vengeance for her.
Hey, that's 11,000 subs! For a spotlight, I think Peri would be cool. She's a bit harder to appreciate because of how she's presented, but she has a good story.
Haroldali might just be the perfect representation of Fire Emblem characters in the 3DS era: not particularly deep or interesting, but safely tucked away in his gimmick to have enough appeal to the audience. Hell, I like him anyway. Arthur and Percy went on many a Father/Son Berserker Smashing sessions together. When we get back to general characters, Bartre. While we're in Fates mode, our favorite Ninja Bro, Kaze.
If you're in Revelations you can pair Arthur off with Setsuna to have him gain access to the Archer line from a Partner Seal, then if you want to spent a few levels you can have him Snipe stuff until he gets Certain Blow, which REALLY helps his hit problems.
I believe you can also do this with Mozu, as Partner Seal gives Arthur the Archer class when paired with her as well. This means you could do this in Conquest as well as Revelations.
Another Tip is to make him have (Veteran's Intuition*) and or (Armoured Blow**) to increases Arthurs chance of survival. * - DLC Class (Vanguard) ** - Second Seal (Great Knight)
as someone who use Arthur as a berserker and giving him a killing axe or beruka's axe and end up eith 75% crit+ he became my secret weapon and those crit guote are hilarous
Arthur and Nyx also becomes an Even more valid Option if you want to make Percy a wyvern Knight, that relies on Axes AND tomes, Scince Nyx' magic Stat will help out there.
here's a tip for anyone who wants to use Arthur safely Vanguard Emblem. It has the same weapon ranks as Hero so he can still go to work with axes, plus it's first skill, Veteran Intuition completely nullifies the personal skill's drawbacks alternatively if you don't want him to be a Vanguard, Veteran Intuition is a skill scroll in the Vanguard Dawn DLC.
I tend to pour every goddess icon into Arthur. None of the other units are so desperate for luck, and no other unit becomes such a map clearing berserker when given enough goddess icons. I usually struggle to find any other use for the goddess icons, so why not. Also, a rampage of justice and destruction is always fun to watch. Edit: Also, putting one level into hero will give him sol. His high skill, and charming smile, will keep him alive in the face of dirty wrongdoers.
When i was playing Chapter 10 in Conquest, Arthur Got that Gamble skill in the middle of the assult from the ememy, which really screwd him over because he can't hit much anything then and there's still all the enimies just pouring in.
Not to mention you can easily get Percy by chapter 10/11, which means actually being able to use them for most of the game. You get Camilla by then, and she can make the map pretty easy by drawing enemies onto the DVs
One thing that is great about Arthur is his HP, especially in Fates where the HP growths are very low. High HP units are great to have around in this game!
If you ever go back to doing pre-Fates Character Spotlights, can you do one on Lewyn/Levin from FE4? I think he's a very interesting character, on top of being a powerful unit.
I have never encountered or interacted with Arthur, but seeinghim in lets play videos, I laughed so hard, Arthur is just so damn funny May have the Superman-eqse traits, but his poor luck and goofy outcomes does not make him boring
meh I find rinkah stubborn the only reason i'm still using her is i gave one of my only dread scrolls mozu is superior in just about every way except defence iirc.
actually in my run of Conquest Arthurt was on my main team at the end and he didn't give me that much issue. I only used one goddess icon on him as well.
My berserker Arthur reaches 89% crit rate, thanks to the skills I bought him too, it's very scary and I even use a replicate of him and watch both of them murder anything that dares to come too close xD
thanks for the spotlight, I do have one thing to point out. you said marry Nyx for bow knight. what I think is much more effective is Selena. then you can send Art down mercinary allowing him to wield swords easily on helping his accuracy slightly. from there he can do bow knight and learn bow breaker to pass to Percy or promote to hero and pass mercinary and bow knight to percy. this gets him bow breaker without damaging his strength.
My favorite unit in Fates, I just found his entire premise absurd, and augmented the shitshow that was Fates writing. I used DLC chapters to give him the skill that practically makes him immune to crits and aftewards he was pretty safe from crits for the rest of the game.
I like General Arthur (A+ support with Benny), since Arthur's speed is pretty mediocre and his low luck doesn't bother him much if he doesn't take any damage, since his defence as a General is amazing (Crits still do zero damage). Just keep him away from mages, as always.
Rinka/Rinkah is like the TANK of birthright. I highly recommend waiting until her promotion before reclassing her, as this will ruin her high defense growth. 19 def as level 17 oni fighter. Blacksmith was worth it.
I feel like Arthur is not a very complicated character, because he's pretty much meant to be exactly the type of character you expect... the sort of superhero that shows up in children's cartoons all the time. Pretty much a walking superego. Adapted a bit to fit into Nohr's medieval theme, sure, but other than that pretty much like every other hero you might have seen on Justice League or some similar cartoon.
The main problem with this unit is that he's dressed in red white and blue, with armor decorated with stars, blonde hair and glorious chin, and is a self-proclaimed champion of JUSTICE, yet he doesn't have a gun. It's just not real justice without a gun.
And oil, dont forget the oil
His birthday isn’t 4th of July smh
MERICA
If only there were crossbows in Fates...
Grant Samson shame he only has an axe...
WAIT
HES A FUCKING LUMBERJACK
I will say that Intelligent System missed the perfect opportunity to have Arthur's Birthday be on July 4th XD
Xero Metal true
Or friday the 13th.
Aha that's my birthday.. Am I the true American hero?
That or April fools
Arthur does have a secret skill however. Making Beruka laugh.
Whenever I think of communism,
I think of 'Boris, the Soviet Lovehammer'.
Thanks cards against humanity.
Thanks for the appreciation fellow justice enthusiast!
Your not Arthur. Your Imposter Arthur.
Solution: Kill them both.
AAAAAHHHH!!!
That is the (real*) Arthur guys stop hating
Arthur! Justice! America! I am your biggest fan!
I named my avatar "Justice" and S supported Arthur
Ackchyually
Lol you, good person, have made my day
Because he Loves Justice
Kill me now
i forged a handaxe, named it "justice" and gave it to arthur. now he can dispense justice to his enemies
But when he confesses, he says "don't tell Justice..." O__o;
"I love you more than Justice. But don't tell Justice that I said that."
You sir just made my day by thinking that his confession part would contradict himself.

How about Karel?
Ephraim Lance Karel's not in Fates....
+ShermTank7272 Close enough!
I think its kinda weird to make Elise pregnant from anyone, its like, technically everyone who can is a pedophile
+Kryptnyt She is technically an adult by biological standards, and as Leo states in the English localization. It is also likely to be acceptable to marry and have children at such an age due to the feel of the era in which Fates takes place, in which women often married fairly young compared to today.
Arthur was one of my favorite characters, because he never strayed from who he was, even if he may have seemed naïve.
''Self proclaimed hero of justice''
Implying Arthur isn't the more heroic and just of all men !!!!!
Arthur is my favorite character in the game, hands down. I don't care if he's a gimmick, I don't care if he isn't the greatest unit, I don't care if he's a little stupid. Assuming you're referring to Sumia's daughter Cynthia from awakening, I could honestly see him trying to take her under his wing, and she would most likely jump at the chance to learn from an actual hero of justice.
In my revelations playthrough, I made Arthur a vanguard. I fight for my friends...IN THE NAME OF JUSTICE!!!
we need more takumemes.
Tha machine hype
Tankumemes
Mrguy_123 YOU WILL PAY FOR YOUR BETRAYAL!
+Mrguy_123 I AM THE MACHINE
Betrayal on your whole family!
Betrayal on you!
Betrayal on your cow!
I'd love a spotlight on Rinkah, partially because she has my favorite character design of any Fire Emblem character and partially so you have to look her up to see what you missed by letting her die.
Me too! Rinkah!!
True. Better than hand-carved mahogany. She looks REALLY Good, I want to keep her. Also, her support with Avatar A.
Arthur just flat-out looks like Captain America and Bucky's child.
Pocky Games true true
Or All Might from My Hero Academia....
@@gecototodile thats what im thinking as well
Since he has high HP, Strength, and Defense growths I made Arthur into a general via friendship seal and it worked out pretty well. Wary Fighter helps cover his lack of Speed and what makes him stand out from other generals is that he mostly focuses on using axes rather than spears.
Despite his horrible luck, he still stands strongly for justice. If that ain't a real man, I don't know what is.
Next Birthright episode will be out tomorrow. Spotlight today.
Murica!! Also, Can You do Peri?
Thank you Mangs! Now Effie! ;D
Can you do Caeldori at some point in the future?
Peter Jumper Did you mean: "Cordelia with a letter swap"?
Not a party without marty
Came for the Thumbnail not gonna lie.
'''Ashura''' is Shura's Japanese name, but he isn't relevant right now.
"Marry Arthur to Nyx"
I have a good tip
Don't do this
Nyx will give Percy bowbreaker, yes
But you're crippling Arthur when you do this, when pairing Arthur with Effie can boost his survivability PLUS it gives Effie a good strength boost
It depends on your play style though.
Plus Percy is pretty good with Effie as a mom
Oooh _YES!_ Flying speed-tank destroys everyone!
He kinda looks like all might
it annoys me how you refer to characters unique personality traits as 'gimmicks', I'd much prefer quirk, idk about anyone else, but it just slightly annoys me when you refer to it like that
They are gimmicks.Basically pretty much all of fates characters follow a anime trope or stereotype causing them to be one dimensional
Yeah it's a little annoying but whatever
"They are gimmicks.Basically pretty much all of fates characters follow a anime trope or stereotype causing them to be one dimensional"
* cough cough Birthright cough cough *
No,but in all seriousness, that's an exageration on a lot of them.
12Metatron But in Fates they really do feel like a gimmick as opposed to a real trait
If it was quirk he would be all might
Bobby Fulbright 2.0.
Yes but Arthur does it better
Nicolò Enrico Rimoldi Exactly! They even have similar face and hair styles!
I always field Arthur for one reason: Those sweet, sweet Berserker pair up stats. He's permanently behind Effie and turning her from a fantastic unit to an absolute goddess. I'm probably the only that says this, but I have a love towards this character, so (Suzu)Kaze?
Do Tankumi because #BlameTakumi

+Number13teen hitting on women huh?
Oh wow, nice.
he has 0 crit evade anyway, crit evade doesn't go to negative, so there isn't really a difference, unless you're giving him all the goddess icons.
Arthur: "Hail Hoshido".FE if made by Marvel.
Very insightful, thank you!! I love Arthur, but I don't know yet if I can handle him. Maybe your advices will help him (and Justice!) prevail!
Hey, that's 11,000 subs! For a spotlight, I think Peri would be cool. She's a bit harder to appreciate because of how she's presented, but she has a good story.
She does. I married her in my first nohr playthrough, and holy maker - SHE CAN BAKE COOKIES
So glad character spotlights are back!
How about Izana?
I personally would like to see a video on Wolf or Ryoma. I would especially would like to see a video on Ryoma though since HE IS SO BROKEN!
Arthur is a Berserker on the outside and a Hero in the inside.
You gotta do Takumi or Charlotte (aka my waifu)
Mine too :D
charlotte is my favorite unit. she just crits way to much
I used charlotte as a dread fighter, she destroyed the entire game.
i know using her in revelations my powerhouse
Charlotte + great club + certain blow + killing blow
Haroldali might just be the perfect representation of Fire Emblem characters in the 3DS era: not particularly deep or interesting, but safely tucked away in his gimmick to have enough appeal to the audience. I thought he would get Villager but he actually does get Archer, fancy that.

* - DLC Class (Vanguard)
** - Second Seal (Great Knight)
Would love to see Beruka done, heard a lot of mixed things about her as a unit, and an actual analyses would be great.
as someone who use Arthur as a berserker and giving him a killing axe or beruka's axe and end up eith 75% crit+ he became my secret weapon and those crit guote are hilarous
Arthur and Nyx also becomes an Even more valid Option if you want to make Percy a wyvern Knight, that relies on Axes AND tomes, Scince Nyx' magic Stat will help out there.
here's a tip for anyone who wants to use Arthur safely
Vanguard Emblem. It has the same weapon ranks as Hero so he can still go to work with axes, plus it's first skill, Veteran Intuition completely nullifies the personal skill's drawbacks
alternatively if you don't want him to be a Vanguard, Veteran Intuition is a skill scroll in the Vanguard Dawn DLC.
He's Buzz Lightyear from Toy Story fused with Eugene from Hey Arnold. I think he's great. His alternate faces make me laugh.
I was blessed with the luxury of obtaining Arthur as one of my very first units in Fire Emblem Heroes.
Arthur can have a 35% Luck growth if he becomes a Paladin, just saying. In turn it means he can overcome his danger of being critical'd a bit.
When i was playing Chapter 10 in Conquest, Arthur Got that Gamble skill in the middle of the assult from the ememy, which really screwd him over because he can't hit much anything then and there's still all the enimies just pouring in.
Effie's definitely the best parent for Percy as his defense stat will become so astronomically high that he basically becomes a flying general.
Not to mention you can easily get Percy by chapter 10/11, which means actually being able to use them for most of the game. You get Camilla by then, and she can make the map pretty easy by drawing enemies onto the DVs
Her name is Azura, not Ashura. Just saying.
British people don't know the letter z exists. Cut him some slack.
Now I really wanna support Arthur and Azura. Oh, and could you do Midori next? Thanks.
One thing that is great about Arthur is his HP, especially in Fates where the HP growths are very low. High HP units are great to have around in this game!
Arthur is actually how I imagined Harry Potter's Gilderoy Lockhart to be, right down to the superhero-like voice.
It’s crazy to think I’m just one day ahead of Arthur like... holy hell
Anyone else thinks he looks like a younger All Might?
arthur is basicly a medieval all might
If you ever go back to doing pre-Fates Character Spotlights, can you do one on Lewyn/Levin from FE4? I think he's a very interesting character, on top of being a powerful unit.
How about Nyx, she made an appearance, but she needs a spotlight to lift her curse.
We need takumi. You know it, just look at those fire emblem fates memes, he is in almost all of them.
I have never encountered or interacted with Arthur, but seeinghim in lets play videos, I laughed so hard, Arthur is just so damn funny
May have the Superman-eqse traits, but his poor luck and goofy outcomes does not make him boring
I'd love to see Rinkah in the next one, shes my favorite Fates girl but sadly doesnt get enough love
meh I find rinkah stubborn the only reason i'm still using her is i gave one of my only dread scrolls mozu is superior in just about every way except defence iirc.
Only Cowards bench Arthur, Hes my main in my game! 8^3 JUSTICE!
Berserker has one problem in Fates for Arthur. Berserker both has a passive 20% crit chance, but also receive a passive -5% critical evade.
actually in my run of Conquest Arthurt was on my main team at the end and he didn't give me that much issue. I only used one goddess icon on him as well.
I knew you'd do Justice McCritALot next :D
I vote Takumi!
Let's see, we've got a Cavalier, Outlaw, and a Fighter. So now we need the Dark Mage, Odin!
I would love to see Odin. Talk about a ridiculous but hilarious unit.
Please make a spotlight on either Odin, Selena or Laslow.
Nyx or Effie! :D
(I'd recommend Charlotte but I wanna see the MVPs of your playthrough first. :P)
I think you should do a spotlight on Frederick from FE13, he's so cool
Next spotlight needs a Hoshidan, so Kaze should fit the bill quite well. But a Nyx spotlight wouldn't be bad at all.
Do Takumi!!! =D
good to see All Might get a character spotlight
i have recently discovered this THANK you so much my thirst for JUSTICE has been quienched
My berserker Arthur reaches 89% crit rate, thanks to the skills I bought him too, it's very scary and I even use a replicate of him and watch both of them murder anything that dares to come too close xD
In my playthrough of conquest Forrest was surprisingly good, so do him next
thanks for the spotlight, I do have one thing to point out. you said marry Nyx for bow knight. what I think is much more effective is Selena. then you can send Art down mercinary allowing him to wield swords easily on helping his accuracy slightly. from there he can do bow knight and learn bow breaker to pass to Percy or promote to hero and pass mercinary and bow knight to percy. this gets him bow breaker without damaging his strength.
Bow Knights get Shurikenbreaker in Fates.
Sorcerers got Bowbreaker and Maids got Tomebreaker.
Thomas Zordonmlw7 oh sorry
+mysteryshadow5 Can he support Ophello then? if he s supports her then he can reclass into her mage and finally socerer
My favorite unit in Fates, I just found his entire premise absurd, and augmented the shitshow that was Fates writing.
I used DLC chapters to give him the skill that practically makes him immune to crits and aftewards he was pretty safe from crits for the rest of the game.
Discount Cap. America.
You know what would have been funny? If his birthday was July 4th
when I first saw arthur in conquest I actually liked him
I like General Arthur (A+ support with Benny), since Arthur's speed is pretty mediocre and his low luck doesn't bother him much if he doesn't take any damage, since his defence as a General is amazing (Crits still do zero damage). Just keep him away from mages, as always.
Hey Mangs are you ever gonna do birthright character? If yes please do rinkah.
no party without marty
Rinka/Rinkah is like the TANK of birthright. I highly recommend waiting until her promotion before reclassing her, as this will ruin her high defense growth. 19 def as level 17 oni fighter. Blacksmith was worth it.
What? Rinkah isn't in conquest
American Burger Gamer Birthright. MY FUCKING BAD
It's fine
I’m proud to have the same birthday as Arthur.
Thanks for doing Arthur! Now please do Arthur.
Y'know, normally I don't comment on stuff like ads and such, but an ad for "Injustice 2" on an Arthur Spotlight was just too good not to share.
Fucking Captain Norh, Arthur! Amazing!
Oh wow, Arthur shares my birthday.
Charlotte or Takumi please!
Gotta love that Keaton tho
next episode you should talk about charlotte or perri my dangerous girls are so fun to use and have some of the funniest supports
I'd really like to see a spotlight on Felicia, Gunter, Selena, or Beruka.
Arthur's voice sounds a lot like "Minuteman" from the Freedom Force series if anyones played that.
Can you do Shura, Effie, Takumi, Oboro, or Hana?
HANA!
I'd rather he do one about Rinkah.
Fire Emblem's All Might
*Captain America
Could you do one about Takumi?
And maybe ... Dozla?
Or Rennac!
I mean ... you were playing Sacred Stones.
Also, I suggest a spotlight on Azama!
