I cant believe this show is actually good. Even after all the positive views I never thought it would live up to the mountain of expectations I have. Episode 1 has and I cant wait for the rest of it
I think a big part of it is that Scott was working alongside Danai and Andrew on the show which I think is how it should be. Cuz Gimple is a good writer and is capable of writing good episodes as shown with episodes like Clear but when he's the sole on in charge that seems to be when the quality dips a bit So I think having Danai and Andrew contributing towards it has massively helped
A's are the ones they kill and use for walker experiments because they don't want leaders in the ranks that might try to change things like Okafor is doing. That's why he tried to sneak A's through. Also why Jadis said Rick was a B, I think because she felt she at least owed him that, by not sending him there just to die.
So am I the only one who noticed that Okafor is basically this shows Morgan from twd 101. Both of then save Rick's life after he gets put of the hospital, and then mentor him and train him, and then they are never seen for the rest of season
When I tell you I was screaming loud af at 7 in the morninggggggggg!!! This episode was phenomenal!! I agree that it's in the top 10 episodes of TTWDU!
That episode was amazing! I’m glad the reunion happening in the first episode. They subverted expectations in the best way. We have been without these characters for 5-6yrs. They’ve been without each other for near a decade. There was no need to build more anticipation for their reunion. If all we are getting is 6 episodes then I want to see them together facing whatever challenges there are as a couple. Dragging out the couple being together is what MOST shows would’ve done. It’s what happens in almost every romance novel bc they don’t know how or aren’t interested in exploring the layers & conflict that come after. I wanna see Michonne & Rick in CRM. I wanna see Pearl’s reaction to him finding his wife, when she gave up on her love. The little bit of awkwardness bc they have both changed so much. And how they navigate those differences. You can’t do that with only two episodes. And considering Danai wrote episodes 4 & it’s the one reviewers are raving about I think the heavy emotionality will be on full display in that one.
Having Rick and Michonne's reunion happen later on would have probably been something they did during Seasons 6-8 of the main show where they did drag everything out. It benefits that they only have 6 episodes too so they have to keep the pace up alot more and yeah having Danai been a writer and also having Andrew involved in the creative process will have massively helped
I think there will be some big endgame at some point. With all the spin offs all over the place they need to tie it all together somehow. Otherwise, like without reunions? This show will never be what it could for the fans. Everyone wants some kind of reunion whether it’s Rick/daryl, Rick/morgan, Rick/Negan, Daryl/carol, Michonne/judith, etc…we all want some kind of reunions and without them? Useless…and I’ve been watching since Halloween 2010, premiere night
I agree and without confirmation of another season and, just saying, could be what I believe will happen is Rick will have to stay and we'll have to have a few seasons of Daryl and Negan and Maggie and possibly in a few years we'll get a reunion. It's disappointing if that's what's going to happen.
Describe this episode as epic and very emotionally mind-blowing. Absolutely andrew lincol and danai gurira. They are one of the best characters and couples of all in The Walking Dead.
This episode was nit what I was expecting. I thought that the first 3 episodes with rick would cover the past 7 years with him away, while michone was looking in the present, and they reunited at the end of episode 3. But doing the entire flash back in the first episode works shocking well. But I do kinda wish we got to see when he first got to the CRM and his past 3 escape attemps
I think we’ll get more flashbacks when he got there because i seen bts footage with rick talking to jadis so we’ll see. I hope they do it in like episode 3 or something where rick tells michone everything that’s happened and michone tells rick what’s all has happened back home and the way leading to here
Welcome back to the crunch TWD. Rick has got the juice. The thing that blew him up in the helicopter is what michonne is using to blow up the walkers in the clip where shes on a horse looking at a horde of walkers.
I think there might be some confusion with A and B. Okifar said that they got rid of A's just because they were strong and were able to lead because people follow A's. CRM didn't want strong people who can lead. A's were sent away and killed. B's were every day people, weak people that they are able to control and thus they kept them. But otherwise, check, check, and check. I agree with your review. This was an awesome episode. Note, Okifor was such a good character. I wish he didn't die so soon.
I so glade they finally explain what A and B are. The entire explanation that us the fans had come up with was pretty wrong at least with what A's are.
Donald got shot by Michone gun or idk what was that looked like a shotgun but like it vas a grenade launcher IDK but in extra scenes you can see her testing it out on a herd of walkers(sorry i wanted to say episode 2 promi)
The hell with the comics I didn’t like seing rick lose his hand and that’s the comics that should have stayed in the comics after that version of rick losing his hand was way early at the start of his journey in the apocalypse within that story arc of his in the main show . Tired of seing multiple people needing to be losing a limb like if it needs to make them seem more of a badass or whatever wich is always copy paste wich makes it seem like lazy writting . They had that idea of rick losing his hand in the main show at the start as they decided to do that with Merle with him being a new character that wasn’t from the comics . And you can’t beat the iconic mail walking dead music intro you just can’t . Don’t get too crazy now with this new show in comparisons . And seasons 1-5 was the walking dead stop insane peak prime in popularity before it went t downhill way before the whole Glenn and Carl death stuff happened to drive even more fans away from watching the show. lol
I wish they'd get writers who know the show dont tell rule, everything about this episode was brilliant except the terrible exposition dialogue. It just felt so amateur and sticks out like a sore thumb when everything else is so good
The missile that killed Donald reminds me of mad Maggie’s drill from a game called apex legends where you shoot the drill and it goes three walls and spits out fire I don’t know if it’s just me or what but let me know

B’s were the people they took in because they were weak minded people willing to survive so they were easier followers. Donald or whatever dude name was, said he lied that Rick and Thorne were B’s instead of A’s to keep them alive. Jadis also said the same thing in world beyond.

And when he lost his hand I thought it would be by major general Beal, or at least a walker bite, definitely didn't expect him to do it himself
From what oakafor said. An A is someone who is a leader and will die for their beliefs. Meaning they won’t conform to the CRM ideals. If a person is a B they are a follower and will be able to be used as a worker/commonfolk to keep the CRM functioning
I loved that Scott maybe paid tribute to Lost in someways in honor of Terry joining the cast. The flashside of Rick and Michonne made me think of Lost immediately. This episode was amazing and I loved Andy’s monologue throughout the episode. He really… tried. I felt it! You are right the intro is amazing. Im so glad they are using the same song. Walking dead is back!!!!!
Like everyone else, I was very surprised they had their reunion in the first episode. I do think Rick is going to have to go back because they know exactly where he is and it's too risky. I was even more surprised that Okafor died already. I didn't see that coming at all. I wonder if there will be more flashbacks that we will see him in because in all of the marketing they made him seem like a main character. Love your videos, I'm subscribing now.
I get that they want the two of them together fighting to escape the CRM and whatever follows, and there’s only so many episodes but yeah I kind of wish the Michonne meetup felt more meaningful. Although one thing I’ve said all along was that the reunification of Rick and Daryl has got to be epic. Breakdown, stumbling, can’t catch a breath bro hug for Daryl. Maybe they didn’t want to do that type of moment so soon but they felt they still had to get Rick and Mich back together asap. A final battle between CRM and Commonwealth would be a badass way to end but I kind of doubt it. Or it’ll be 2030 before we see it.
Pisses me off seing rick cutting his own hand off . I thought either rick would get bit to cut it off or general Beal would do it for punishment for rick trying to escape or rick being tied down somewhere as zombies are about to come eat him alive for him to cut his hand off . I hate how they had rick just straight up cut it off in no dangerous situation. And yes I understand he’s been through hell for 10 years in that place being kept prisoner to mis him go through doing such a thing but man it just bothers me out of all things to make a big character like rick grimes to lose a hand especially the face of twd …. Omg man . Him losing his hand is definitely the highlight of this episode. He’ll probably the entire walking dead main show . That’s fucking huge for him to lose a limb especially if not being dead . The man cut his hand off for nothing as we know rick will have his happy ending finding michonne somehow to escape a different way as he will now just have 1 hand . Just goes to show they’re was another way of escaping after us about to see how rick will eventually escape with michonne in the end of this series . Fucking wich he had both hands and waited longer another way to get free .
Or dude you should have an idea where the CRM follows rick back as we now have a possible season 12 of the walking dead main show to continue in from there
Ohhhhhhhhh, so episode one ties into episode 2? I haven’t watched episode 1 because what I saw was episode 2 thinking it was 1. The short guy shoots the arrow at the helicopter in ep 2, so I guess that ties in that way
Okay I’m confused..lol… I just watched another reviewer and he said that they don’t want A’s as soldiers because they’re too strong and opinionated and leaders but you’re saying that the CRM DOES want the A’s as soldiers. I think I need to watch the episode again 😂😂

No I’m glad they did the reunion right away, I was dreading them dragging that out until the end. Since it’s only one season. I think they reunite but have to separate again so she doesn’t get killed by crm. Then fight back
I love how this show ties in the events of the CRM from every show. And I did not expect the world beyond taking place so close to this show. It makes sense but I didn't think about it for some reason
i don't think the reunion should of happened in the first episode at all, his fake hand and the way he got it is very similar to Merle which relates to Daryl so i liked that, pearl is hard to understand with that accent, i don't know how the fire walkers happened and Rick could of just put the pin back into the grenade
I was also surprised at the ending since next episode will be Michonne's journey. Rick did lose his hand in the comic (#28). The Governor chopped it off..so I thought that was a nice touch. I had to turn subtitles on to understand Pearl!
Sometimes I watch with subtitles, but they tend to spoil what’s about to happen a couple seconds before it happens. I turned off subs for this episode and then when I couldn’t hear what the guy next to Rick in the helicopter was saying, I turned it back on for maybe 10 seconds, and of course I see “PROJECTILE WHOOSHING” right before he gets hit. Immediately turned them back off and was annoyed; def gonna have to rewatch with subtitles bc I missed so much there were times I couldn’t make out what they were saying
my main problem right now is Michonne’s mischaracterization. around the time we last saw her in twd she didn’t gaf about new people and taking them in. and now all of a sudden she’s crying over people she recently met and wanted to stay with them longer than she needed too? idk she just felt off to me. and then Rick cutting his hand off meant absolutely nothing and there seems to be no sense of urgency in the beginning.
I don't get the positive reviews. The plot barely made sense, the dialogue was awful, and the acting was melodramatic. It reminded me of.... The Walking Dead! 😂
#episode1 #season1 of #TWDtheoneswholive talked about Rick's emotional journey after he left the main show... until their #CRM chopper got shut down and then something unexpected happened in the end and now next week they will tell #michonne's journey in looking for Rick including facing a #hordeofwalkers ua-cam.com/video/p-V60OmxkTc/v-deo.html so folks better watch this show because it's only 6 episodes

Oh it’s out today!!! Let’s GO! I’m going to watch the first episode and coming right back to this video!!! 🎉
You won't be disappointed 💯 Just finished it, and it was fn incredible!!
@@MeetMrMayhem88 yes it was!!! I do wish that had waited until next episode for the big reveal at the end but it was still amazing!!
I liked the monolog about Rick's father, but I do prefer the one he gave to Carl in season 2
Really hate that they cut off his hand. At least it was his left instead of his right.
I stayed up till midnight just to watch couldn’t wait till morning. Got right into no bs great premier.
I haven’t watched it yet so I will be coming back to this video later
Would love to see Rick take over the CRM and change the world.
It has movie pacing...and I love it.
I really liked Okafor, shame about his death
10/10 episode. amazing
Great video
i don't think the reunion should of happened in the first episode at all, his fake hand and the way he got it is very similar to Merle which relates to Daryl so i liked that, pearl is hard to understand with that accent, i don't know how the fire walkers happened and Rick could of just put the pin back into the grenade
I was also surprised at the ending since next episode will be Michonne's journey. Rick did lose his hand in the comic (#28). The Governor chopped it off..so I thought that was a nice touch. I had to turn subtitles on to understand Pearl!
@@martian-sunset i never read the comic myself but i watched lots of youtube videos about tv show and comic differences so i knew about it anyway
second ones out also its very interesting
Where did you watch the second episode?
Just watched it what a waste of an hour that was...
I don't get the positive reviews. The plot barely made sense, the dialogue was awful, and the acting was melodramatic. It reminded me of.... The Walking Dead! 😂
All of that is true but I found it better. The pacing is good and helps from noticing the flaws in the moment
