- The Omoda 5 is a family-size crossover SUV from Chery that will soon arrive here in Msanzi later in 2022. The Omoda 5 will probably feature a turbocharged 1.6-liter petrol engine with 145 kW and 290 Nm of torque in conjunction with a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission, while the exact powertrain options will be available in South Africa are yet unknown.

If they make this car compete with VW T Toc RLine. But sell above Tiggo 4 but below Tiggo 7 will be the best pricing strategy to capture SA market. I will never buy a Chinese car for over R500 000. That would be ridiculous
Just wait until Toyota copies this and calls it Toyota Modest and sells it for over R600k and ppl rush to it. They did the same with the Suzuki Baleno and re-badged it as Toyota Starlet and priced it even highest. Did the Same with Suzuki Brezza and rebadged it as Toyota Urban Cruiser. Brand loyalty here is RSA is slowly coming to an end. Hence the Suzuki rocked sales charts for 2022 at position number 3!!! And this is a japanese brand!!

@@christianmankz these big brands have been taking us for granted. Chinese are doing a massive favor for us. We are slowly seeing the bull in these big brands.

@christianmankz front PDC did not work properly, wipers go off when ever, back PDC did not work properly as well, screen kept going off replaced still didn't work properly FCW goes off when ever super dangerous with no other traffic around humming noise in the gear box bought the car on the 23rd of January started having trouble with the Omoda on the 25th of January dealership in CT and head office not interested in my problem cost me fortune to get out of the deal biggest piece of crap on the road
