Siren Song is an all time favourite of mine. I love that they really leaned into the comedic side of the show and it helped balance out the darker scenes like Cole and Phoebe towards the end. The part where Piper says “Oh, bad baby.” after the flowers incident still cracks me up.
I also think Phoebe's fear of Cole comes from a few places. Her fear of her own love causing her pain, as it has many times in the past...and her fear of Cole basically being a superpowered stalker. The facts are she doesn't want to be with him...but he won't leave her alone. He won't stop following her and showing up in her life despite however many times she says she doesn't want him to. It isn't actually about him being a demon, despite what she says...he's an ex she doesn't want (whatever her reasons, she doesn't want him), but he refuses to listen and refuses to let her move on with her life. Even a human ex husband would start to be terrifying with that behavior. But Cole's repeatedly crossing and ignoring her boundaries AND he's got demon powers. It's not that he's actually evil, but he was for the majority of their relationship. She's traumatized from everything they went through already, doesn't want him back, yet he's refusing to respect that. To be clear, I get the ire at her blaming him for the whole Source thing...he was tricked into it. But he was also doing multiple things secretly behind her back to get to that point. And he was lying to her when they met, trying to kill her and her sisters. He was the face of evil for a long time for her. Her trauma response makes perfect sense, even if we disagree with the *most recent* reasonings why.
the happily ever after is one of my favorites of the season but fairy tales does hold a special place in my heart as a native language teacher(Danish) plus getting Grams back is always a plus :D
Happy "Charmed" Saturday evening with Sergio & Cody! 🔮✨️ Two of my favorite season 5 episodes for tonight. 😊 Episode 5x03: The Evil Queen(from Snow White) sets out to change the happy endings by going after the Charmed Ones. And Paige finally gets to meet Grams. Side note: For another show that deals with magic and fairytales, I still very highly recommend the show "Once Upon a Time". Episode 5x04: A siren targets Cole putting Phoebe in danger. And Leo and Piper's unborn baby plays a trick on them by switching their powers. Looking forward to the episode reactions for next week. 😊
It is always awesome to see Jennifer Rhodes as Grams aka Penelope/Penny Halliwell. Melinda Clarke who played the Siren went on to play Julie Cooper in 90 episodes of "The O.C.", Amanda in 70 episodes of Nikita", and Kelly Donavan in 5 episodes of "The Vampire Diaries".
I never agreed with that thought process on Cole because ANY one of them can be and has been turned evil at some point and always sided eyed Phoebe for thinking that way when out of all the sisters, she will always be the most susceptible to turning evil since she was born at the manor. So idk if it’s a writing thing or her feelings of uncertainty in becoming a mother? 🤔 Cody dragging the dress tho 😂 Loved Grams & Paige bonding 💚 Not Paige eating the poison apple. And the wolf eating Grams! 😳 These fairytales are out of control. Not Paige being dead! The descendants coming to help Paige. Them knowing Grams is a wolf tho! 😂 Cole being able to recognize that something evil is in Adam. The wolf eating Piper was a cool scene. And Phoebe getting turned into a pumpkin! Not looking so great for the sisters right now. Cole saving Phoebe. “Keep your hands off my pumpkin” 😂 Leo & the wolf! Piper blowing up the wolf from the inside 🙌🏼 Love Little Red Riding Hood. Piper going into the fairytale. Yes Piper being the most powerful witch in all the land 🙌🏼 New story keeper. Them wanting to send Paige a bill 💀 Aww them saying bye to Grams always makes me tear up 💚 Cole taking Phoebe to Adam was a really sweet scene. Chaotic episodes like this are always my favorites. Love the fairytale interpretations in media. Always a great time having Grams in the episode. I’m curious to see more Cole character development from here & where it goes for him. I’d like to see what they do with him not being in a relationship with Phoebe. Feeling a little burnout on the back & forth with them at the moment. A little break might be nice even tho I liked them together at certain points. And we start off with more Phoebe/Cole memories 🫠 Oop killing the husband in front of the wife? And leaving her for dead? Savage. Cole shimmering to save people from the fire. Paige in potion making mode. Piper burping Whitelighter bubble orbs? Cole saved a future Whitelighter. Cole being lured in by the siren. Poor Leo trying to craft a spell. Melissa getting arrested! Leo’s crying hormones 😂 Paige helping Melissa 💚 Shirtless Cole. Him blocking the potion so he could have the siren for himself? 😳 Love Leo/Piper having their heart to hearts! 💕 Cole attacking Phoebe still under the siren’s spell! Yes Leo vanquishing the siren! And Piper healing Phoebe! Poor Cole doing the one thing he never wanted to do, hurt Phoebe 😭 They’re powers are back. Really like getting to see powers get swapped & having to walk in each other’s shoes. I feel like that made Leo/Piper stronger & I love to see it. Excited to see Paige explore her Whitelighter side more. Such great reactions to these fun episodes guys! Can’t wait to see what’s next! 🖤

As a viewer, yes. But if you were in her shoes and were not seeing his side of things, just going through the pretty darn serious lows, then finally getting free of those lows only to have the source (pun definitely intended) of those lows show back up again? With super daemon powers?!? I can't blame her for being constantly suspicious of him.

He was pure evil for 100 yrs and his human half was reignited when he fell for Phoebe and was able to suppress Belthazor for Phoebe. If it was me I would forgive him because he didn’t willingly turn back to evil he was tricked like I said.

This plus the endless number of her new men irritates me, you don't always have enough time to remember their names. And she smiles at everyone as he is the one.
Yea, I can't imagine going through all he put her through and then just letting it all go. He'd seem major sus to me too after all that. Loved Cole and Phoebe as a couple but dang if I wouldn't be seriously gun-shy after all that.
Won’t lie the Fairy Tale episode is one of my most rewatched. It’s super cute and heartwarming. A very good beginner episode for anyone who’s curious about the magical mayhem of Charmed. Then again…I’d say that about almost all of Season 5. Love this season and I’ll keep singing it from the rooftops.
I think Finola Hughes (their mom) was on a soap opera so they weren't always able to get her. There's an episode in S6 that I think was supposed to be for her but wws rewritten for Grams. Never confirmed but speculated.
I like that they did the fairytale centered episode; the fact you hadnt heard rhe version of red riding hood where the woodsman saves them shows that there are many versions of fairytales and folk tales. Same is true with the reference to Wizard of Oz; in the original book/source material the shoes are silver, but they were redone as 'the ruby slippers' to take advantage of technicolor when the film was made. And the film is more widely known than the book; hence Charmed used the ruby slippers rather rhan the silver shoes
I haven't watched your charmed reactions in a while because I'm waiting on one particular season of the show that's my favorite y'all got to see a little bit of him without even seeing him. And one that's on the way
The Siren episode is one of my faves in the season, every sister had such a great plotpline to explore and switching powers is always funny. That Cole shirtless scene had no really reason to be there but we are all glad it was, he looked so hot!
It’s still crazy to me that the new Snow White film didn’t cast little people and did weird cgi dwarves instead. Every time I’ve seen little people as the dwarves they are always wonderfully casted. I don’t know any live action versions I saw where I don’t like them.
Just adding how bad the advice from Elise is. Like, imagine you went through a traumatic breakup with someone who was, in fact, the love of your life...essentially, an abusive relationship...and everyone tells you that you HAVE to see him or work with him. When I last saw my abusive ex through a peephole, as he was picking up his stuff, I nearly had a panic attack...just seeing him through the peephole. Imagine telling someone she HAS to be in the presence of the man who broke her heart, broke her trust, manipulated and lied to her for almost the entirety of their relationship, led her into darkness, and has killed many good people...all because he claims not to be a bad guy anymore. If demonic powers were drugs, no one would be saying "aw he just wants to help." She's REPEATEDLY said she doesn't want to see him or have him in her life and no one is respecting those boundaries. Her reasons don't matter. She doesn't want him in her life and no one is listening. It's so gross and upsetting.
So without spoiling anything are you guys going to watch and combine episodes 19 to 21 since this season has 23 episodes and the last is a 2part finale (22 & 23)? Also season 6 has a 2 parter at being and end as well.
from now on, just bear with the character assassinasion of Cole, its so not the tea i hated it like he was trying and they couldn't be bothered to give him the time of day, it always pissed me offbecause Cole was OVERTAKEN AND SURPRESSED by the source, he wasnt the source.

As an adult watching the show again , I have very different feelings towards Cole/Phoebe. Cole comes across as a manipulative narcissist who resorts to hurting or killing anything in his way. I got out of a relationship like that 11 months ago, and understand Phoebe in these episodes. It can be easier to pretend like you don't still love them.

Everyone loves talking about how selfish Phoebe is, which she isn't for wanting exactly what Piper and Prue wanted those first 3 seasons. But Paige is neglecting an innocent, got her hit by a car, ignored Piper who was in distress but no one says anything. Thank you to Sergio and Cody for continuing with the show and having their own opinions outside of the one sided hatred folks seem to have to Phoebe/Alyssa.
Paige is also the youngest and newest witch. She deserves grace. She’s had to learn witchcraft way quicker then any of the other sisters. On top of that, she basically saved the day in the season opener, while Phoebe and Piper were very concerned with themselves. While I do agree the Phoebe hate is blown out of proportion sometimes, Paige isn’t the one who’s the asshole in Season 5.
It genuinely ticks me off when people say that about fairytales...to the point that I paused at 2:39 just to rant about it. I dare "Paige" (or the writers or anyone) to name a fairytale that was actually just about a big strong man rescuing a helpless princess. You say that and I know undoubtedly you're just regurgitating someone else's talking points and you haven't actually done any critical thinking about fairytales. Cinderella? Nope. She wanted to be free of her abusive family and go to a ball...who helped her? Depending on the version, her fairy godmother or the GHOST of her dead mother...the prince was just a prize for her escaping the trash life. Snow White? Nope. She met and fell for the prince before being cursed...all he did was kiss her goodbye and TRUE LOVE (the usual cure) woke her. It could have easily been another princess and the outcome would be the same...so him being a man wasn't even a factor. It was the love. Which is actually a good message. Sleeping Beauty? Nope. Her 3 fairy godmothers saved her as a child, were the true heroes of the story, and were the only reason the prince knew to go give her True Love's Kiss. Ariel the Mermaid?? Again, no. She just wanted to hang out with humans and just so happened to fall for the one she herself saved. She rescued him! In the end of the original story, she doesn't even get the guy, but makes a great sacrifice to save him once again. She's the hero. In the movie, he helps save her at the very end...and if you're gonna marry someone, you *should* be saving/helping each other. Rapunzel?? Once again, no. The prince stumbles upon her tower, they fall in love...then he gets blinded by thorns and wanders in the desert until...you guessed it...she rescues him. And let's not get me started on Belle and the Stockholm accusations entirely erasing her choice in the matter. She wasn't kidnapped by the Beast in any version. In every version, she chooses to stay with him. She could have ran away when he told her to and got villagers or someone else to come. She was clever...she could have stolen a treasure and said, "Hey, my dad and I found this castle full of gold and treasure, but he's stuck there." And greedy Gaston would have gone just to loot the place, fighting the Beast so Belle could rescue her dad. She could have done something darker, like burn the place down or let the Beast kill her dad and just mourned. Not the most pleasant choices, but choices nonetheless. She chose, instead, to simply swap places with her dad (ultimately putting him in even more danger...but that's another thing). THEN the Beast let her go, in every version I've seen or read...and she returns. Again, a choice. At no point was she kidnapped or taken against her will...it was literally her choice to stay every time. BEFORE falling for the Beast...which means it wasn't Stockholm-Syndrome. Princesses in fairy tales were NEVER these helpless damsels who could only be saved by a prince and were unable to make their own choices. And I'm dang sick of the slander and lies.
I love Happily Ever After. Although Phoebe's obsession with the idea that it's Cole who did everything annoys me, I enjoy the other characters. I like Piper, Paige and Grams together, fairy tales feeling and I like these little guys who came to help snow white, they are funny And I would like Cole to move on too since Phoebe just can't stand him now. But I understand that there is no story for him this way, his only option is to be stuck with Phoebe

@@PunkToledoGirl97 we have the POV of Cole but Phoebe didn't, she was traumatized after the Source Arc, she already said that to Paige saying "She almost died carrying baby lucifer", she may love her before but the trauma doesn't just come and go just like that.
This plus the endless number of her new men irritates me, you don't always have enough time to remember their names. And she smiles at everyone as he is the one.

Won’t lie the Fairy Tale episode is one of my most rewatched. It’s super cute and heartwarming. A very good beginner episode for anyone who’s curious about the magical mayhem of Charmed. Then again…I’d say that about almost all of Season 5. Love this season and I’ll keep singing it from the rooftops.

I think Finola Hughes (their mom) was on a soap opera so they weren't always able to get her. There's an episode in S6 that I think was supposed to be for her but wws rewritten for Grams. Never confirmed but speculated.
Happily ever after was one of the first charmed episodes I saw because of the fairy tale theme.
I like that they did the fairytale centered episode; the fact you hadnt heard rhe version of red riding hood where the woodsman saves them shows that there are many versions of fairytales and folk tales. Same is true with the reference to Wizard of Oz; in the original book/source material the shoes are silver, but they were redone as 'the ruby slippers' to take advantage of technicolor when the film was made. And the film is more widely known than the book; hence Charmed used the ruby slippers rather rhan the silver shoes

The Siren episode is one of my faves in the season, every sister had such a great plotpline to explore and switching powers is always funny. That Cole shirtless scene had no really reason to be there but we are all glad it was, he looked so hot!
It’s still crazy to me that the new Snow White film didn’t cast little people and did weird cgi dwarves instead. Every time I’ve seen little people as the dwarves they are always wonderfully casted. I don’t know any live action versions I saw where I don’t like them.

Just adding how bad the advice from Elise is. Like, imagine you went through a traumatic breakup with someone who was, in fact, the love of your life...essentially, an abusive relationship...and everyone tells you that you HAVE to see him or work with him. When I last saw my abusive ex through a peephole, as he was picking up his stuff, I nearly had a panic attack...just seeing him through the peephole. Imagine telling someone she HAS to be in the presence of the man who broke her heart, broke her trust, manipulated and lied to her for almost the entirety of their relationship, led her into darkness, and has killed many good people...all because he claims not to be a bad guy anymore. If demonic powers were drugs, no one would be saying "aw he just wants to help." She's REPEATEDLY said she doesn't want to see him or have him in her life and no one is respecting those boundaries. Her reasons don't matter. She doesn't want him in her life and no one is listening. It's so gross and upsetting.
So without spoiling anything are you guys going to watch and combine episodes 19 to 21 since this season has 23 episodes and the last is a 2part finale (22 & 23)? Also season 6 has a 2 parter at being and end as well.

Ah... season 5, the fan-fic season.
As an adult watching the show again , I have very different feelings towards Cole/Phoebe. Cole comes across as a manipulative narcissist who resorts to hurting or killing anything in his way. I got out of a relationship like that 11 months ago, and understand Phoebe in these episodes. It can be easier to pretend like you don't still love them.

Everyone loves talking about how selfish Phoebe is, which she isn't for wanting exactly what Piper and Prue wanted those first 3 seasons. But Paige is neglecting an innocent, got her hit by a car, ignored Piper who was in distress but no one says anything.
Thank you to Sergio and Cody for continuing with the show and having their own opinions outside of the one sided hatred folks seem to have to Phoebe/Alyssa.
Paige is also the youngest and newest witch. She deserves grace. She’s had to learn witchcraft way quicker then any of the other sisters. On top of that, she basically saved the day in the season opener, while Phoebe and Piper were very concerned with themselves. While I do agree the Phoebe hate is blown out of proportion sometimes, Paige isn’t the one who’s the asshole in Season 5.

I love Happily Ever After, with the exception of the worst outfit Phoebe has ever worn on the show. That Cinderella dress was awful.

It genuinely ticks me off when people say that about fairytales...to the point that I paused at 2:39 just to rant about it. I dare "Paige" (or the writers or anyone) to name a fairytale that was actually just about a big strong man rescuing a helpless princess. You say that and I know undoubtedly you're just regurgitating someone else's talking points and you haven't actually done any critical thinking about fairytales.
Cinderella? Nope. She wanted to be free of her abusive family and go to a ball...who helped her? Depending on the version, her fairy godmother or the GHOST of her dead mother...the prince was just a prize for her escaping the trash life.
Snow White? Nope. She met and fell for the prince before being cursed...all he did was kiss her goodbye and TRUE LOVE (the usual cure) woke her. It could have easily been another princess and the outcome would be the same...so him being a man wasn't even a factor. It was the love. Which is actually a good message.
Sleeping Beauty? Nope. Her 3 fairy godmothers saved her as a child, were the true heroes of the story, and were the only reason the prince knew to go give her True Love's Kiss.
Ariel the Mermaid?? Again, no. She just wanted to hang out with humans and just so happened to fall for the one she herself saved. She rescued him! In the end of the original story, she doesn't even get the guy, but makes a great sacrifice to save him once again. She's the hero. In the movie, he helps save her at the very end...and if you're gonna marry someone, you *should* be saving/helping each other.
Rapunzel?? Once again, no. The prince stumbles upon her tower, they fall in love...then he gets blinded by thorns and wanders in the desert until...you guessed it...she rescues him.
And let's not get me started on Belle and the Stockholm accusations entirely erasing her choice in the matter. She wasn't kidnapped by the Beast in any version. In every version, she chooses to stay with him. She could have ran away when he told her to and got villagers or someone else to come. She was clever...she could have stolen a treasure and said, "Hey, my dad and I found this castle full of gold and treasure, but he's stuck there." And greedy Gaston would have gone just to loot the place, fighting the Beast so Belle could rescue her dad. She could have done something darker, like burn the place down or let the Beast kill her dad and just mourned. Not the most pleasant choices, but choices nonetheless. She chose, instead, to simply swap places with her dad (ultimately putting him in even more danger...but that's another thing). THEN the Beast let her go, in every version I've seen or read...and she returns. Again, a choice. At no point was she kidnapped or taken against her will...it was literally her choice to stay every time. BEFORE falling for the Beast...which means it wasn't Stockholm-Syndrome.
Princesses in fairy tales were NEVER these helpless damsels who could only be saved by a prince and were unable to make their own choices. And I'm dang sick of the slander and lies.

I love Happily Ever After. Although Phoebe's obsession with the idea that it's Cole who did everything annoys me, I enjoy the other characters. I like Piper, Paige and Grams together, fairy tales feeling and I like these little guys who came to help snow white, they are funny
And I would like Cole to move on too since Phoebe just can't stand him now. But I understand that there is no story for him this way, his only option is to be stuck with Phoebe
