I see people saying that Dani asked for this by being a workaholic and having a crush on Bette - personally, that makes no sense to me. Even if Dani had a crush and worked often she always held respect for Sophie in the way where she wouldn’t betray her or force Sophie to test her loyalty. That is an incredibly strong trait in someone, hence why Dani said to Sophie if she herself (Dani) ever cheated they would be done. It was a two way street. Dani wasn’t perfect but that doesn’t warrant her fiancé literally sleeping with their friend and then said friend destroying the wedding. And clearly, Dani and Sophie had already discussed before that cheating (physically) was a dealbreaker for both of them - regardless of how you would handle your own relationship, this was discussed between Dani and Sophie and she chose to break it, AND with their close friend. They’re just not the same by any means and cannot justify what Finley and Sophie did.

But she still obviously loved Sophie and stood by her values of integrity and loyalty. A crush doesn't really mean anything if you don't act on it, I've had crushes on people that faded naturally. I think Dani was only really attracted to Bette's strength and determination, not necessarily sexually. Sophie should have talked to her about it and shouldn't have tried to force her to talk immediately after the difficult situation with her dad that caused Dani to snap at her. I also am deeply introspective and think a lot before I can express what I'm feeling. Dani needed more time. Yes, Dani should have been there more for Sophie, especially when her grandma fell, but people aren't mind readers, she didn't realize Sophie was feeling so left out. COMMUNICATION is so important, Sophie should have told Dani how she was feeling. Especially that little scene at the hospital, "she should know me better by now," that was so passive-aggressive I actually cringed. I'm still low-key hoping things work out, but watching 2x01 as I write this, I don't really see it happening. We'll see. Sophie massively fucked up, but I do believe she genuinely regrets it.
