Even my speedometer was replaced as the previous one was faulty, it use to show speeds of 40 or 60 or 160km sometimes when the bike is stand still, but they replaced it and I am lucky that I got the old style speedometer with Miles and km both printed on it but looks like in your case they gave you the new one with just KM.
Generally the fog happens in rainy season or after a wash but goes away in a day or two when exposed to Sun. Not sure why it didn't happen in your case. However, good to know that RE replaced it.
I would like to see this in a few weeks time after it gets wet. In the US the Classic speedometers overheat in the sun, the face of the gauge bulges until the needle jams on the face, rendering the speedometer useless. They will happily replace it with the exact same thing. I went through four speedometers before I sold the bike. This only seems to be a problem with bikes that have a MPH speedometer, not kph.

Yes now they have only the kmph variant it seems.
But the International one looks more cool in my opinion.

That is right, For me it happened many times and then had consulted RE for solution. RE responded and did replace my speedo which is a good gesture.

You are eligible for replacement as it's only one year old. Talk to the service centre and ask them to claim in warrenty.
