I've come to the belief that if the King wanted to do something about Harry, he would have done so by now. I would suggest that they cannot let them deploy the Navy as they would be successful, this Government has proved that they have no intention of stopping the boats. As Lady C has pointed out, it is not as easy as everyone seems to think to remove the titles. Yes, the King can remove the title of Prince. The rest would have to be done through parliament. Even then, the King needs good reason to remove the Prince title to avoid any legal issues. The problem is that Andrew never created another source of income for himself but relied on money from the Sovereign Grant and the income his brother Charles pays him. If he had not paid allegedly £12 million in an out of court settlement he wouldn’t be in this predicament. Anne who outright owns Gloucestershire Estate, makes her farm earn money for her as does Prince Edward who apparently rents out stables on his property. Sophie was quoted as saying that she had advised her two children that they will have to work to support themselves in the long term. Wise woman. Andrew could move to Frogmore Cottage ( used to be a 10 bedroomed home prior to renovations) as it comes with security already in place. Hence no added security costs for Andrew. It appears to be a viable option.

There is a legally binding clause in the contract that was written in 1660 when crown and Parliament was restored , that states The Monarch can't interfere in the Governing of the Country , in other words His Majesty is a Figure head with limited power .

Only the security costs when on duty are taxpayers charged for. So we own the Royal castles Windsor, BP, etc yet the King pays for their up keep out of the Sovereign Grant. Not the taxpayers. Yet the Monarchy brings in more revenue than they cost. Yet still people whinge & moan.

Charles is offering Frogmore Cottage to Andrew as Andrew cannot afford to keep up required renovations and maintenance required on his current home, which is part of the lease agreement. The Royal family own property privately. Andrew cannot afford to continue living in the Royal Lodge. It needs repair and he cannot afford it. He has broken the rules of his lease. The King can only do so much about Harry. He has done what he can. Now it is up to Parliament, The House of Lords and other commonwealth countries. Abeyance isn’t a slam dunk affair either. Phillip publicly said (around the time Julianna in the Netherlands retired ) that he and Lizzie would like to retire but they didn’t think Charlie was up to the job . Heard it once from his own mouth never to be heard again . I never forgot that statement as I totally agreed with him . I’m older than Charlie and could see the writing on the wall as he was growing up . He was one big self entitled wimp , largely due to the maternal grandmother who undermined his parents attempts to toughen him up . When he couldn’t get his own way he’d run to grandma’s knee and she always made sure he got his own way . Phillip put mountbatten to the task of toughening him up but he died before he could implement any meaningful change .

I don't think King Charles is a dick. It seems to me that he is dealing with decades of fall out from the actions and decisions of QEII: 1) Prince Andrew (PA) was her favourite child and he was not brought into line. He was spoiled and grew up over indulged. He is entitled and will not see that it just is not reasonable this day and age for him and his ex-wife to have such a huge home whereby KC III has to cover his security as the place is outside the palace security boundaries. 2) QEIII knew that Princess Diana had mental issues stemming from her childhood as Lady C has written about in her book about Diana. The Spencer family has a reputation to be problematic. QEIII should not have fostered Charles and Diana's relationship and they were not compatible. They hardly spent anytime together before they married. They should not have married. Instead QEII should have made Charles seek out better possible mates through his twenties and made him get to know them. Or, she should have let him marry Camila in the first place. The public would have accepted it and maybe even loved it! She is the love of his life. 3) Thank goodness she helped to turn Prince William into a responsible future king. She would meet him regularly over tea for 'future king' prep sessions when he was young at Eaton College. He has turned out very, very well and he has done the right thing in falling in love with Catherine and taking his time to make sure she was the one. 4) IMO, QEII and her advisers are responsible for this entire Prick Sparry and MEMEME situation. KCIII is too emotional close to the situation being riddled with confusion and guilt over how things ended for Diana. They should have done more to prevent Sparry and memememe's union and given more help to Sparry's mental health. Yes, I believe that he has gone along with memememe and must take responsibility. Everything stems from the actions and behaviors of QEII. QEII was a wonderful monarch and like all humans, we wish we came with a do over button. She should have had MI5 or MI6 - which on does what??? - shown Sparry what she was and taken firm action to stop her threats etc. Now we have this huge sh!t show!! Mememe is nutters.

Trevor I undersatnd your sympathy for Andrew, but the bottom line is .. i and many don't. Whether he was 'guilty' of the charges that he bought himself out of, he clearly is guilty of unsavoury behaviour, blind Freddy could see him lying in his interview. its one of the biggest cringe moments i've watched. Initially i thought he was innocent but he lied so terribly it was like 'if he'll lie about the small stuff - guarantee he'll lie about the big stuff'. The E connection has not been fully investigated and its not out he realm of possibility that Fergie was involved. (there are photos of her and she historically was caught out selling meetings to the RF). She's been grifting off the RF for decades (albeit she does know to not defame them - she knows what side her bread is buttered). As for Harry, the bottom line is this is the Kings son and he does have a very obvious mental illness. Very few parents can just 'cut their kids off' despite the behaviour. What i would like to see KC do is actually make a public statement saying that he and the RF are dissociated from the Harkles and in no way affiliated with any actions they take.

It's the Government and Parliament that decide which policies to send to His Majesty for approval as he can't interfere with the running of the Country as stated in official documents when the throne was returned to the Royal Family after Oliver Cromwell died in the year 1658 as there was a legal clause written into the agreement to return the throne to Charles the Second in 1660 . Media reports made a big deal out of the fact that Charles interrupted his holiday to go to Southport. In reality, the King has been on holiday for 70+ years. It’s not like he’s ever had to get stressed about a job interview, worry whether he’ll get a promotion, have to iron his own clothes, clean his own house, cook his own meals, make his own travel arrangements or worry that he can’t afford to pay for his heating and feed his family. His only genuine concern is whether the public who pay for his unimaginable privilege, will continue to do so. I’ve been a monarchist all my life and don’t think that will change. I am, however, at a loss to understand how a King who has had so much training for the role has turned out to be such a wet lettuce/fart/rag and puts his own emotions ahead of the stability of the monarchy as far as his spoiled son is concerned. As Lady C has pointed out, it is not as easy as everyone seems to think to remove the titles. Yes, the King can remove the title of Prince. The rest would have to be done through parliament. Even then, the King needs good reason to remove the Prince title to avoid any legal issues. He is sitting back having absolutely nothing to do with the toxic duo and giving them the rope they need to go far enough to remove the titles. I was never a fan of Charles, but I have changed my mind about him since he became King, and before everyone forgets, he is STILL fighting cancer, so maybe he has other things than his son to worry about

The problem is that Andrew never created another source of income for himself but relied on money from the Sovereign Grant and the income his brother Charles pays him. There is a legally binding clause in the contract that was written in 1660 when crown and Parliament was restored , that states The Monarch can't interfere in the Governing of the Country , in other words His Majesty is a Figure head with limited power .

Plus it’s not taxpayers who support those properties it’s the sovereign grant which is derived from the profits off the Crown Estates. 87% of which goes to the treasury NOT the crown. Only the security costs when on duty are taxpayers charged for. So we own the Royal castles Windsor, BP, etc yet the King pays for their up keep out of the Sovereign Grant. Not the taxpayers. Yet the Monarchy brings in more revenue than they cost. Yet still people whinge & moan.

Charles is offering Frogmore Cottage to Andrew as Andrew cannot afford to keep up required renovations and maintenance required on his current home, which is part of the lease agreement. The Royal family own property privately. Andrew cannot afford to continue living in the Royal Lodge. It needs repair and he cannot afford it. He has broken the rules of his lease. The King can only do so much about Harry. He has done what he can. Now it is up to Parliament, The House of Lords and other commonwealth countries. Abeyance isn’t a slam dunk affair either. Right now there are more important issues to deal with.

I’m older than Charlie and could see the writing on the wall as he was growing up . He was one big self entitled wimp , largely due to the maternal grandmother who undermined his parents attempts to toughen him up . When he couldn’t get his own way he’d run to grandma’s knee and she always made sure he got his own way . Phillip put mountbatten to the task of toughening him up but he died before he could implement any meaningful change .

I don't think King Charles is a dick. It seems to me that he is dealing with decades of fall out from the actions and decisions of QEII:
1) Prince Andrew (PA) was her favourite child and he was not brought into line. He was spoiled and grew up over indulged. He is entitled and will not see that it just is not reasonable this day and age for him and his ex-wife to have such a huge home whereby KC III has to cover his security as the place is outside the palace security boundaries.
2) QEIII knew that Princess Diana had mental issues stemming from her childhood as Lady C has written about in her book about Diana. The Spencer family has a reputation to be problematic. QEIII should not have fostered Charles and Diana's relationship and they were not compatible. They hardly spent anytime together before they married. They should not have married. Instead QEII should have made Charles seek out better possible mates through his twenties and made him get to know them. Or, she should have let him marry Camila in the first place. The public would have accepted it and maybe even loved it! She is the love of his life.
3) Thank goodness she helped to turn Prince William into a responsible future king. She would meet him regularly over tea for 'future king' prep sessions when he was young at Eaton College. He has turned out very, very well and he has done the right thing in falling in love with Catherine and taking his time to make sure she was the one.
4) IMO, QEII and her advisers are responsible for this entire Prick Sparry and MEMEME situation. KCIII is too emotional close to the situation being riddled with confusion and guilt over how things ended for Diana. They should have done more to prevent Sparry and memememe's union and given more help to Sparry's mental health. Yes, I believe that he has gone along with memememe and must take responsibility.
Everything stems from the actions and behaviors of QEII. QEII was a wonderful monarch and like all humans, we wish we came with a do over button. She should have had MI5 or MI6 - which on does what??? - shown Sparry what she was and taken firm action to stop her threats etc. Now we have this huge sh!t show!! Mememe is nutters.
At the very least Harry and the wife should be removed from the Royal website.

Trevor I undersatnd your sympathy for Andrew, but the bottom line is .. i and many don't. Whether he was 'guilty' of the charges that he bought himself out of, he clearly is guilty of unsavoury behaviour, blind Freddy could see him lying in his interview. its one of the biggest cringe moments i've watched. Initially i thought he was innocent but he lied so terribly it was like 'if he'll lie about the small stuff - guarantee he'll lie about the big stuff'. The E connection has not been fully investigated and its not out he realm of possibility that Fergie was involved. (there are photos of her and she historically was caught out selling meetings to the RF). She's been grifting off the RF for decades (albeit she does know to not defame them - she knows what side her bread is buttered). As for Harry, the bottom line is this is the Kings son and he does have a very obvious mental illness. Very few parents can just 'cut their kids off' despite the behaviour. What i would like to see KC do is actually make a public statement saying that he and the RF are dissociated from the Harkles and in no way affiliated with any actions they take.
We see them as "children" at age 15, yet they can change gender/sex as they want without having to tell the parents. Double standards!

Media reports made a big deal out of the fact that Charles interrupted his holiday to go to Southport. In reality, the King has been on holiday for 70+ years. It’s not like he’s ever had to get stressed about a job interview, worry whether he’ll get a promotion, have to iron his own clothes, clean his own house, cook his own meals, make his own travel arrangements or worry that he can’t afford to pay for his heating and feed his family. His only genuine concern is whether the public who pay for his unimaginable privilege, will continue to do so. I’ve been a monarchist all my life and don’t think that will change. I am, however, at a loss to understand how a King who has had so much training for the role has turned out to be such a wet lettuce/fart/rag and puts his own emotions ahead of the stability of the monarchy as far as his spoiled son is concerned. He has always been that way, unfortunately, "weakwilled". The late Duke of Edinburgh tried to knock him into shape, but Charles, is self centred & narrow minded. Prince Philip had a hard up bringing, very poor by royal standards. He was an exile, homeless, abandoned by his father, his mother unable to care for him, after she was all but kidnapped by her family & locked up in an asylum for yrs. Philip was passed from pillar to post, hardly had any decent clothes, or guidence. It was Philip's uncle (George) the Marquis of Milford Haven, who took him under his wing & help support & nurture him. Lord Louis Mountbattan aka "Dickie" later high-jacked the notion that he raised Philip. Dickie only became interested in Philip, when he was well into his teens, as Dickie wanted to steer him towards Pcss Elizabeth. Dickie wanted to bring second hand glory to himself & "name" by association to the heir/daughter of the then reigning King of England/UK & Commonwealth. Before that Dickie was bff of David, aka Prince of Wales, later King Edward VIII. After the abdication, Dickie "jumped ship" & tried to worm his way into the good graces of George VI & Q.Elizabeth, (later, Q. Elizabeth the Q Mother). Dickie was a party boy, hob-nobbing with the rich & famous & idle, no "life of service", more into showing off. He married (pursued) an heiress to a fortune, = Edwina Ashley. They were quite a notorious couple, though I admit Edwina did take up a life of service later on. Charles has always been odd !
Right on, Trevor. You described how I feel about King Charles perfectly. I fear he may be the lend of the British monarchy. Elizabeth made very few mistakes in judgment during her reign, but she wasn't strong enough to skip Charles for the good of the monarchy. In the end it will be the weakness of the monarchs to recognize the destructive potential of their children who are not fit to rule.
