Over 20 year ago when I started really collecting perfumes most people thought it was an obscure hobby so I kept it to myself. People like us were concentrated on members only chat sites on communities such as MakeUp Alley. How things have changed😱. I have always been crazy about perfumes since I was a child but I really started my collection with vintage perfumes. Back then I spent a lot of time on flea markets and perfume collecting sites in the hopes on finding an original antique bottle with the juice still being usable. It is a great hobby to have. Wendy, I wish I would have waited to place my order just last night. I happened to watch Alicia Budget Beauty review of Al Absar fragrances and they have one called Hiyam that is inspired by Donna Born in Roma and I ordered it just yesterday. I have been looking for the ME version for a year and now I see 2 within 24hrs. I have only 2 from Al Absar but many From Alhambra and they do inspirations very well. I would have rather had this one but Alicia had good things to say about Hiyam so maybe later I will try this one. Vielen Dank für die tollen Bewertungen!
I own Hiyam from Al Absar. I think this is based on the Donna Born in Roma Intense version, yes? It's lovely! I don't know it is close to the OG, though
Oh.. I hate when this happens especially when I hit the button and forget a scent lol. As Ami said below the Al Absar is also quite good. I was not a fan of Born in Roma the original but like this one as it is closer to the Intense in my opinion. I think all will end well. Have a lovely Sunday. I have the originals ( DBR, DBR-Intense and DBR Exrtadose). I prefer to wear DBR and DBR Intense together because both are lacking something separately. To me, I think Mia Dolcezza is a combination of all three. I get the benzine and amber of Intense, distinctive pink pepper and jasmine of the original and then a slight dose of vanilla that is prominent in the Extradose. To me, this version is perfection. I like to call her “Big Donna”. 😂🥰 Thank you for being the only one reviewing this on YT. 🫶🏾 Now, all I have to do is find someone who’s reviewed Al Absar Hiyam. I’d love a comparison to Hiyam, Mia Dolcezza and the OG flankers.

Hi Wendy! Okay, convinced! 😂 Mashrabiya has been ordered. I got it for 38 € from Brasty. This sounds right up my alley, and you and I have similar tastes, I think, when it comes to deep, spicy fragrances. I purchased Smoked Oud and Vanilla....so very good. Can't say whether it compares to Tom Ford, but I think this is lovely all on its own. I, too, am not a fan of Donna Born in Roma. It's not bad, I just don't sense anything unique about it, but I have heard that the intense version is quite good. So I picked up Hiyam from AlAbsar, which is supposedly inspired by Donna Born in Roma Intense. Now, I don't know if it is close to the OG, but it is really quite lovely ( and I am not really much of a floral fan). This seems quite vanilla forward, which you won't hear me complaining about. 😊
Ami - Happy Sunday friend🥰. I have not been able to stop spraying Mashrabya since I bought it. I saw first reviews from men so though maybe not for me.. but I got sweaty palms... hahahha. I am not familiar for Alabsar and now I am intrigues. The spicy one I do want to pick up is Hypnotic Oud from Al Abiyat but still looking at prices. The new spicy fumes coming out are really good. 👍🏽. I saw so many from Dubai Beauty World videos and waiting especially from French Avenue🥰
Mashrabya was such an odd and unpleasant fragrance to me. Even looking at the bottle now makes me a bit nauseous. I'm holding on to it hoping it changes, but I can't even bring myself to smell it to see if it has. I purchased it almost 2 months ago. I really enjoy Maison Alhambra 😊 they've been releasing some very well regarded perfumes. I am going to look for this one! ❤
Hi there - oh no... scent is relative. It is spicy and a bit of a busy oriental. Mine did not need maceration so maybe it just does not agree with you or one of the notes. I get this feeling with powdery iris or helitrop perfumes. Have a lovely Sunday🥰

Hi SN - There are so many perfumes which are alike on the market. To my nose it was not exactly Bron in Roma Donna and I need to compare to other stuff. I am not familiar with Gritis Duchessa. Don't give me ideas lol😛. But the dupes of BIR Donna seem to be hitting the market now. Hope your Sunday is going well 🥰
I have Mia Dolcezza and I don’t quite like her at the moment but I have just sprayed her on a test strip and it’s changing, I am able to pick out the fruits a little. Two weeks ago, all my bottle gave was just loud sweetness, nauseating type of sweetness. The Kingdom for her has grown on me, i am hoping this will do the same
I am liking Mia and I have not found any issues with it as is. I do think it could get more intense with maceration. The Kingdom I mostly wear to work as it is the perfect scent for the office. Non offensive and crowd pleasing. 🥰
I love Kilian Smoking Hot, though I'd say it's unisex leaning masculine. My decant is empty, but I'm on the fence about this one. I did see a review saying Mashrabya is more unisex, less masculine than SH.
