Hi Cindy, made these today (actually started the project a week ago for drying time etc.). I wondered if you wanted to finish the top of the cookie in any way.Should we seal with Mod Podge, satin, matte or gloss? Should we make a fake confectioner's sugar (how would we if we were so inclined?)? How about a white frosting of some kind? These sure are beautiful, thanks again!
Hi! I do not seal my fake bakes. I heard ppl use baby powder on cookies or you can use spackle to ice them but I leave mine plain. 🤣

Sharon, do you find that salt dough lasts, or does it tend to break or crumble after a while (or maybe a seal/varnish on top helps)? I'm interested in making tiny-miniature ornaments like lollipops, for my sewn snowman ornaments, and I know Sculpy or other clay could be used. But I'm also trying to keep expenses down. I 'd appreciate you or Cindy's suggestions. Thanks.

Hi Cindy! You’re a mind reader- I cut out some fake Linzer cookies yesterday but had no idea how to add the “jelly”! Thanks for the ideas. Also I know you like options because supplies are so scarce and I was out of the paint I use to color the cookies- what could I use? I took my dollar tree make up blenders with the handles and the Distress Oxide ink pads and brushed the edges of the cookies with vintage photo and the body of the cookies with tea dye - it looks amazingly real! Not saying to add another thing to buy,but people might have that in their stash. Happy Crafting! You made me laugh today.

Any special tips for keeping your clay from drying out?
It’s best to keep it in its original packaging. You can spray Model Magic with a bit of water then knead it well. 😉
