Just think about this a little more...Radwanska is basically a modern-day Hingis. She beat Hingis easily in her mid-2000's comeback (when she herself was only 15 or 16), and now sheonly has one GS final to show for it. I do admit that Hingis was, and would still be, a different look that most tennis fans would appreciate today, but would she really have had a chance being around post-2000 as much as she had in the late 90's?
Can't compare eras, if she played after 2000's she would have been brought up with different racquets, training etc. Her game was developed for her time. Mc Enroe started to lose when metal racquets came out and people were hitting so much harder. He was a finess player, noone could stay on the court with him and his style. His strokes were for his time. You couldn't swing a wood racquet the way every modern player does today. The racquet didn't allow it. Should have not allowed non wood racguets, would it be fun to still watch tennis. Why do you think they still use wood and not aluminum bats in the pros. The stadiums would have to be 550 ft.
But she couldn't force Hantuchova to miss a volley until the very end...she was right not to return. Imagine what.....say....Serena, Venus, or Azarenka would do to her? I honestly thought she would do much better in her doubles comeback, but seeing her get killed by players like Errani & Vinci ( who go about their business similarly to her), is a little surprising and unsettling. Maybe Hingis just was never really THAT good?
It's a drill, real tennis players rarely miss a volley when you don't have to move or when someone's hitting right to you. Even if it's roger federer, you won't be missing when you are hovering over the net as a drill.
Amazing watching Hingis from behind the court. Her control is phenomenal!
Hingis' backhand is a true beauty!
That's the shot that separates her from the average top 50 player, her backhand is the most consistent and versatile outside of Evert's.
@@luigiguilli9346 But Davenport has the best backhand of all time on the women's side.

Radwanska = speed running & touch
Hingis = tennis IQ & complete shot arsenal w/power FH and BH
I think Hingis is way better than Aga in nearly every department save running
Radwanska got so boring to watch sometimes though. Hingis did not. And Rad did not have the same net skills.
