First of all, I think ACAAN is boring because the trick is mostly watching the magician deal a blank card -- deal cards down to a thought of card...AND THAT CAN BE BORING. I would divide the blank deck into three packets and have someone pick one of them: then pick a number between one and, say, 17. The printed, thought-of card is found in THEIR CHOSEN PACKET. The other two packets were seen to be made of blank cards. This reduces the boredom of endless dealing.
The video instructions does talk about the extra cards. He says in the video to remove them and keep them as back up cards. The video explains how many cards you need to use. Another point I’d like to make is you say it’s only 40% of the time you will need no moves but Craig explains that the majority participants will choose a card in range so using the move will be rare but he explains it’s important to know so your prepared for it. I just felt I needed to clarify these points to be fair to the trick and the creator.
Latest update from Craig. The new range will be from 6 to 43, which is just about any number. So that negative is pretty much gone. This is a huge range.
Immediately subbed. I like Craig a lot but kinda confused why they went with this trailer if it's not accurate. Thanks for reviewing. I'll probably pass on this release but I'm interested about key Master now😀👍
Your point of view about the misleading trailer might not be popular with the majority but you speak the truth. I wish there were more people like you who review with such honesty. Merci Alexis!
Excellent review. I 100% agree with ALL your points! And you did it respectfully giving a true unbiased review. By the way your english is fine. Keep up the good work.
Think your English and your accent is as clear as a bell ! Pretty good review and I agree with some of your conclusions. Think if the range is between 10-35 straight out of box, that is 48%, meaning close to 50%. In addition, magicians use all kinds of forces to do card tricks, hence somehow forcing a number within that range is not extraordinary. So if you can achieve that magic range around 90% of the time in your performances you are getting your bucks worth. How often do you hand out a special deck to examine ? One issue that I have with the deck - if you use it a bit too often, then a new purchase will be unthinkable!
First, your english is great. Secondly, I agree with your review. After I preordered the Quantum Deck I read more reviews and was ready to return it upon arrival. Then I got it. It actually is a good routine but the ad copy is misleading. It is NOT examinable! The only way to do it would be with a switch, and at that point any trick is examinable. I like Craig and subscribe to his channel BUT this was not how it was represented. If I had the chance to go back in time, I'd pass on this one. Sorry to say.
I pre-ordered quantum deck. It should arrive by tomorrow. The advertisement was clear to me about the possible range of cards. But I will have a better opinion soon, with the deck in my hands.
I'll be working on this packet approach, roughing my own blank cards, knowing that, like all cards, they'll get dirty or wear down. Petty says your only alternative is buy a new Quantum, which is just spending $$$$ endlessly.
I have it , big petty Craig petty fan, for years, ( love chopped as of late) and fully in loop of all the drama, round this release, it works 100, if you put some work in, yes, you will need to audience manage, the ad copy is "as best as it could to not expose method" if you not equipped to pull off even basic "equivoque ", then no , skip it for now, but it's soo clever and an awesome project, but wow man, magic UA-cam magic review is such a confined and saturated space now, not sure why your bothering here, as it's a lot of work, ?? But if you want to do this, I do dig your channel
Idk if you've seen Craig's video on luke dancys livestream but I believe you bring up similar points which craig has answered already in his semi rant video. In the ad copy he did say that there was a range of numbers you had to choose from and it can't be any number so technically i agree with you saying it can't be called caan but he did say he had some trade offs and sacrifices with the quantum deck and that was one of them. In terms of examinability while it can be examined by laymen, magicians will probably know what's up when you show it to them however the product wasn't meant to be a magician fooler it's catered towards fooling laymen. I think the 100% in 100% examinable is a misnomer and I think saying it's just examinable should've been enough. I've seen alot of bickering on the café about the ad copy being deciving but I think different people perceive it differently. I personally don't really see much wrong with the trailer outside of changing the wording around to avoid confusion. Sorry for the long post I just wanted my take on the quantum deck.
If you don't see anything wrong with the trailer, you didn't pay attention. He told magicians that they could examine the deck. That's deceptive HYPE. When you get your deck, try having it examined by magicians. Good luck! ;)
@@Thefess I see you try to defend Craig Petty on almost every Quantum Deck video. Dude, you need to get a life! (Is Craig a bad parent?...Hell yeah if he screams like an ass around his kid and shows him how to break things...)
@@charmanderdefender9247 You are calling someone who you don't know personally a bad parent based on things you percieve in UA-cam videos? Those blips in time are enough to make that call for you huh? If that is the case, I think that life getting thing you speak about may need your attention as well.
Good one Alexis, nice honest review. We can do with more honesty and your English, (English is my second language as well) is great. Keep up the good work and change nothing! Dimitrs
The trailer was deceptive as it implied that magicians could examine the deck without noticing an old "principle". If you try to "prep" the deck for magician by removing some of the "principle", (I tried it) the deck will not perform smoothly. Furthermore, in the tutorial, when a magician briefly looks at the cards and tosses them back on the table, are we supposed to believe that the cards are examinable by all magicians? The misleading trailer was meant to boost sales as we all know.
I must say that your English is actually not bad, A lot of times when you second guess yourself the first word was actually correct “Misleading” was the correct word, I speak English as my first language and Korean (한국어) as my 2nd language so I understand how difficult speaking in a secondary language is.
I am not a fan of this effect. It is more of a magician's favorite to be honest and not really magical to layman. And the fact that all of these famous magicians are fooled by it so badly is really weird to me. I haven't purchased the effects but I would bet 1000 bucks I know how it's done. The effect is so obvious, I cannot imagine aby seasoned magician not getting this. It is rough and smooth spray 100%. Such a boring effect.
I think magicians all got the R&S thing. It's How Petty has used it in a non-traditional manner that gets the nod here for creativity and magician fooling.
A wise man once said: It's easier to fool magicians than laymen because if there is one out of ten things they see that they don't understand, they'll be fooled. On the other hand, laymen are harder to fool because if they figure one out of ten things they see, they start to believe they know the whole trick.
Great review. Very honest. You pointed out the most common complaints about the ad copy. I agree with most of them especially because Craig presents himself as Mr. Super Honest. The ad copy is a bit ambiguous. Stop apologizing for your English. Your command of English is certainly than most of your followers French. You are a true gentleman. Au revoir.
Yeap. Duped and used magicians in the trailer to make us believe the deck could be freely examined by magicians. Buyers who expected something "NEW" were scammed. It certainly was a magician fouler (THE TRAILER)!!!

Quantum Deck destroys the Invisible Deck! 10 stars!
