I loved when Stephanie said, "The more you learn about something the more beautiful it become!" So so true! It was a dream take a tour of Christie's!!!
Yes, its the same with other cultures and countries too. The more you learn and understand the more you like it - at least that is the way it is with me.
I completely agree!!!! I was not a fan of dishes or some fabrics, but when Stephanie or Philip would talk more about them, I see their beauty and appreciate them so much more!!
Agree with the comment on learning and more beautiful. Christie's Online Magazine is amazing, weekly and free - a recent article was on Collecting Chandeliers so very appropriate for Lalande, but the topics and collections featured are wide and so interesting.
For me this vlog epitomised why Chateau Diaries is so much more interesting than the many other chateau vlog channels. This is not just about renovating a chateau, it has art, culture, history all delivered with intelligence, interest and enthusiasm, so we are all swept along with Stephanie to places and ideas we might never otherwise come across. At the same time we see the beautiful camaraderie back at LaLande. Dan knows that for us Brits, the more we like you, the more we tease you and he gives as good as he gets. If you watch Dan's channel you will have seen that the digger has already been put to good use.
I agree...this is why CNN has called Stephanie "the queen of UA-cam." Chateau Diaries is in a league of it's own...there other those who are attempting to capture Stephanie's technique, but she has raised the bar way too high for others to come close.
I love the fog back at Lalande. I must comment on the observation that the people working at Christie’s seem to be very regular people. I would have expected them to be a bit stuffy and very academic. It’s refreshing to see.
Yeah . .. and Man Dan didn't think she could squeeze in revenge all the way from Nouveau York, but she got eem. He's stunned - looking for his digger, no bigger than his shoes.
I was thinking the same thing; Stephanie’s joy at the behind the scenes of Christie’s is also shared with us! The beautiful artifacts, the hidden rooms, … it’s all delightful.
This video is absolutely iconic! Loved Chris’s energy explaining everything and Gill / Jill tooo! You were all in your element… and what a fantastic chance to see behind the scenes. I need to rewatch this already :) Also Dan’s digger is hilarious and Nati’s echo of holes everywhere.
What an interesting vlog, and soo much lovely things at Christies. The man who had worked cleaning all the lovely pieces must have seen some beautiful things in 30yrs. What a satisfying job. I laughed at Dans mini digger, well thats what he asked for soo funny, Loved watching x
Best vlog ever and that’s difficult with the usual high standard. It had everything beautiful objects interesting people, plenty of education and insights of Christie’s behind the scenes and fun and revenge on Dan at the chateau. ( I’m glad he got his digger at the end)
An auction house is the only place where history becomes tangible and the lots on display reveal their secrets to the trained eye telling stories never recorded before. The thrill of bidding and the chance of eventually coming to own such a treasure surpasses excitement in its highest degree. An informative and entertaining peek behind the scenes of one of the greatest auction houses in the world. 👏🏻🥇
Stephanie, your natural talent for presenting, interviewing and editing is outstanding. 👏 There are not many things that can hold my attention but I'm always engrossed in your vlogs. Fun, informative and a great variety of new things and places to learn about. I've been subscribed to your channel for almost 3 years and have thoroughly enjoyed every vlog. Keep up the great work, have a fantastic time in New York and safe travels 💛 Well done Nati on adding another string to your bow, camera woman! 📷 You're a phenomenal lady!

I adored the silver tea tray/stand - it was so beautiful and, of course, the candelabra - oh to have a money pit! Looking forward to more vlogs from Christie’s!
The backstage look at auction prep was fascinating! Tx you. You can tell how respected Dan is by other LaLanders by how they like to tease him. Good to see
Stephanie's Chateau Diaries is the best. This show is like a mini program that we see on the PBS (Public Broadcasting Station) here in NY. Thanks for exposing your viewers to the world of Art History.
Stephanie, you have such a gift at seeing beauty, that after your visit, i am probably sure these two will feel elevated about their work and probably will love their work environment even more. 🥰🥰🥰 That’s why i love watching your vlog so much and seeing a part of this world that i knew nothing about, feel like a privileged. 💗 thank you and Bravo! 🙌
What passion theyve got and how much they have in knowledge of it all. Its a very interesting job, so facinating, and dreamy, to be surrounded by so many beautiful pieces. The silver cleaner must have a very patient soul. Such a big and imortant job.
Brilliant vlog! What a treat for us to have the chance to see behind Christie’s scenes…wow! Then…Nat filming ‘home’ and seeing the hilarious relationships between everyone…priceless. Can’t wait to see Jack and Thomas with the Tonka digger…my boys had all the Tonka toys …they loved them.
Really enjoyed this vlog Stephanie, thank you. You are always so genuinely interested in the work people do and their creativity...in another life, you would have totally been working for Christie's 🙂
Such a cool vlog... thanks for taking us along for the ride! It's funny to think I got hooked on your vlogs just as we were going into lockdown 18months ago, and now you're working with Christie's in NYC!
Wow! Thank you for taking all of us to Christine's with you. A special peek into a treasure trove! And the privelege to learn... All in a half hour vlog! This is what makes us come back to the Château Lalande and all it has to offer.
The Japanese sculpture made me weep, awestruck over the workmanship and beauty. I believe the employees were reacting to Stephanie's authentic person. Her zeal and authentic joy is such a pleasure.
But what about the lady in the blue dress at the beginning of the video? At first I thought she was pregnant, but now I'm not so sure. Odd choice, if not.
Amazing! This tour was beyond my expectations of Christie’s! From the actually holding of the books to the silver, amazing! Oh and love Dans little digger! Lol hugs and love from Texas!
This is an excellent and entertaining episode that's full of spectacular art and an inside glimpse into all of the expertise and hard work that goes into cataloging and showing these historic items. I'm looking forward to more!
The Duke's candelabra and the silver tray table are musts! I'd go for the Chesty Gryphon dish also! What a thrilling experience! And DAN! MINI-DIGGER !
