Ford Focus 3 (Door replacement)

A door replacement on a Ford Focus 3 was needed due to damage after an accident. The rear and front doors of Ford Focus 3 and Ford Focus Electric cars are interchangeable in paint color markings. Often the price of a used car door is cheaper than straightening and painting a damaged door.
Procedure for replacing the rear door of a Ford Focus 3:
- Remove the door trim and sound insulation.
- Disconnect the block with wires from the speaker.
- Disconnect the block with wires from the door lock.
- Remove the window lift mechanism from the installation location and disconnect the wiring harness block from it.
- Disconnect the wire harness holders from the inner door panel and disconnect the wire harness from the door.
- Pry up the protective cover of the rear door wiring harness and remove the protective cover from the door opening. Pull the door wiring harness together with the connectors from the door opening outwards towards the passenger compartment.
- Unscrew the door limiter fastening screw to the rear pillar.
- If you are removing a door not to replace it, mark the position of its hinges on the door (for example, outline the hinges with a marker).
- If the lock does not lock or unlock clearly, or if closing is accompanied by a blow, adjust the latch.
- Holding the door, unscrew the door mounting bolts of the upper and lower hinges and remove the door.
- Install the rear door in the reverse order of removal.
