The novel is so much better/dirtier 😉. I'm really sad that China censored SO MUCH. Spoiler alert: in the novel, it's not lollipops he has, it's cigarettes. Also, it is a lot steamier. You'll get makeout sessions and they almost sleep together, but I haven't gotten very far because I'm reading it on Wattpad, and author who's translated quite a bit so far. They've gotten a little past where it's found out that Shen Wei is the cloaked figure, oh!...well, just read the novel, I HEAVILY recommend it.
Well even that the translation still didn't translate the whole novel- I mean, on a sentence to sentence level. there's a lot of details missing in the translated version :$ but maybe the localization work can be sped up in this way so maaaaaybe it's a good thing

You should read Heaven Official's Blessing (Tian Guan Ci Fu), it's another novel from MDZS's author and IT IS AMAZING, I CAN'T EVEN FIND THE WORDS TO EXPLAIN IT BUT IT IS GREAT. The plot is amazingly well thought and developed, the characters are freacking loveable and adorable... I really recommend it. It also has an adaptation in manhua, tho it is fairly new and not completed yet, and it can get confusing sometimes bc they shorten the plot sometimes, but the art is so well made. And it is going to get a donghua adaptation in 2020 and it looks SICK

I am actually so happy for the censorship in shows like this, Untamed and Word of Honor. Hear me out, in most romance shows they just default to "I love you" and kiss/smex and physically show love but it feels so empty. Here, they can't physically show it or say it but it comes out in everything they do for each other, the looks, the deeds, the everyday moments that prove their feelings. I love the soulmates bond so much more than the outwardly romantic ones. Only in the not telling do we really come to bond with them all the more. No better hetero love story than those three shows pulled off with censorship riding them all the way. They are my heart and obsession.

You should read Heaven Official's Blessing (Tian Guan Ci Fu), it's another novel from MDZS's author and IT IS AMAZING, I CAN'T EVEN FIND THE WORDS TO EXPLAIN IT BUT IT IS GREAT. The plot is amazingly well thought and developed, the characters are freacking loveable and adorable... I really recommend it. It also has an adaptation in manhua, tho it is fairly new and not completed yet, and it can get confusing sometimes bc they shorten the plot sometimes, but the art is so well made. And it is going to get a donghua adaptation in 2020 and it looks SICK

I am actually so happy for the censorship in shows like this, Untamed and Word of Honor. Hear me out, in most romance shows they just default to "I love you" and kiss/smex and physically show love but it feels so empty. Here, they can't physically show it or say it but it comes out in everything they do for each other, the looks, the deeds, the everyday moments that prove their feelings. I love the soulmates bond so much more than the outwardly romantic ones. Only in the not telling do we really come to bond with them all the more. No better hetero love story than those three shows pulled off with censorship riding them all the way. They are my heart and obsession.
I hope the creator of this knows how much he contributes to our culture
