Hey Kipling :) Great video! Just found your videos, looking forward to seeing more. I'm very interested in power dynamics and hierarchy, and I've noticed many of the things you're talking about here too. Best wishes to you, Valentino xo

Good video, Kipling . . . important topics and comments. I still appreciate your willingness to share with me; your candor which is most helpful. The only way people will get over their 'transphobia' is by meeting, daring to listen without pre-judgment or defensive moralisms that have nothing to do with true ethical discussions. Thanks for your participation in the continuing education this elderly gay still seeks earnestly.

I hear you man. That was one of my biggest concerns when I was still considering transitioning. I was fortunate to have their support even if they don't completely understand. In the beginning there was a lot of confusion; my older brother thought it was his fault for teasing me and fighting with me when we were little (we used to fight like dogs), my aunt thought it was my mother's fault for not forcing me to wear dresses. :D They try to understand in their own way. Maybe she will come around.

Don't let your mother get you down brother. She is saying that to you because she is having a tough time understanding what you are going through and she is trying to force you to conform to her understanding of nature. Go strong man, stand firm. My mom still calls me she on occasion and it has been over 12 years since I started transitioning.

It's not about being a p**** or being a d***, it's about recognizing your right to be who you are and to express yourself as you wish and not allowing other to convince you that your feelings are secondary to their feelings. No one has a moral obligation to accept abuse or live in a degraded state in order to preserve another person's, or persons', notion of what is right or natural in the universe.

B4 I had trans friends I saw those videos and they honestly made me very intimidated- which is terrible because I am transgender too. I was really scared I might not understand other people's experiences- esp. the ftm experience because i dont identify that way- and would say something wrong, as there seem to be so many rules about whats PC. If another trans person feels scared, then I can only imagine how a cis person must feel. Doesn't make them seem very friendly or understanding.

@Vebbon I have been doing much reading on and about divides within the trans community, I should make an accessible video about it soon!
Cheers! Thanks for this point of view, eh!

You know, I really appreciate that you are discussing these matters. yet, I don't think of myself as "less" or even "different" from biological men. I really never thought of myself as someone who will never be a "biological man." I do understand your point, but I am not sure I agree with it.

@Vebbon I struggle a lot with this vernacular to be honest. I use the term 'biology' to describe the starting organization of my body in particular, I suppose. I never really picked up the 'cis' term. They are all labels in the end and a label is always written on the outside of a box. Perhaps you are too aware of being outside the confines of any social or cultural box, which is why the language doesn't do well by you?

@alexhaney100 Oh geez! Exactly! I understand that a certain amount of firmness is needed to get the general public to learn how to... interact... for lack of a better word, with trans people. When you start chastising the people who are trying to understand it you're going to alienate yourself and other trans folk.
In my defence, I only harass the ignorant people who will never change their opinions about anything. Ahaa

Thanks man. I just wish I didn't have to lose her to be who I am. She's my mother. :/

Dude my mom tells me I will never be a biological man ever all the time. She says I need to come to "reality". And yes, I know that, and I have come to terms with that, but I know its still harsh when someone says it to you.
