@@rofufoja Well running is the key phrase there. If you are a BRM fan, have you read the book" Into the Red" by Nick Mason (Pink Floyd). It comes with an audio cd and one of the cars profiled on the cd is the BRM V16
It looks cool and sounds incredible, but the best thing about it is the Tour de France Auto entry (hence the registration and fog lights). Imagine taking a WEC LMH car to a tarmac rally event, winning, and being able to drive home in it afterwards. The idea of that seems impossibly outlandish today. Nice race number, by the way.
What an absolute beast that engine is. I can't imagine how hard it would be to tiptoe that car around a fully wet track like that. Matra seemed to always make fantastic-sounding engines, the ones they used in F1 sounded excellent as well.
lol I love how my sleep scheduled is timed to wake up to bozzy's uploads. Waking up to the sound of racecars irl is the best alarm clock tho. If you've never camped out at a racetrack, put in on your bucket list. Life is short!
Absolutely agree with you, it's been almost ten years since my first time at the 24h of Le Mans and I couldn't agree more, the racecars sounds are the best way to fall asleep and wake up. My best memory would be the Corvette C7s that would shake the car passing nearby at full speed in the Hunaudières. A feeling deeply miss...
@@kaspeer Yeah, the C7 was physical. You could feel them pound the ground on the way by. Loved watching them race at Lime Rock. I can't even imagine what it felt like seeing them at Le Mans where they had much more space to open up.
@@spamcan9208 Yeah this was a great car, same for the Aston Martin of this era, you could literally feel them coming by, as you said it perfectly ! But, the best cars I've ever seen during the 24h of Le Mans were the 458 GTE and the 911 RSR GTE. Very different sounds but very distinctive !
You make such good quality videos that I am disappointed when I watch any else's racing videos and they are shot mostly through chain link fences. You only seem to shoot through a fence or barrier to get a certain interesting corner/engine sound and then it is back to 180 degree pans following a great sounding car banging through the gears at high rpm. I enjoy the behind the scenes in the pits and when the car gets the go ahead from the race worker to enter the racetrack and puts it to the floor to get up to race speed. You also seem to take great care with the sound in your videos. I like the sound of a high revving engine but I especially like the sound when they are below their power band say coming out of a tight corner in too high a gear. The engine almost sounds angry and it is a prelude to when it finally gets into its power band and starts screaming again. I also appreciate when you continue to record the sound of the car and driver after they are out of the frame but we can still hear them standing on the gas down the back straight bending the tach needle in 5th and 6th gear. Great job, appreciated!
Thanks a lot for the very kind comment, Paul! Yeah generally when someone asks me what my channel is about I answer something like 'Motorsport and race cars'. Then after a couple of seconds I always correct myself and specify ''actually it's about car's sounds'' 😅 Since I started this adventure I've always given more importance to audio than to the actual video footage. I don't have a very professional recording equipment so quality could be even better, but little by little I noticed it has improved in the last 10 years 😏
I love the sounds the downshifts make coming into tight corners. Real raspy and angry - and the banshee scream during the rev-matching for the next lower gear. Oh... and that note only a V12 can make higher up in the revs just before they start wailing like a cut cat. 😊
I’m sorry, but I’d place this engine’s sound even above the latest Pagani Huayra R. I know that’s an apples-to-footballs comparison, but this thing is so raw compared to practically all else. Sure a 917 or GT-40 are right there with it, but this one sings and screams all at once. Bravo!
Grazie, ciao! 🔊🎼🎵🎶
The Matra V12 makes one of the best sounds in racing history, but it's somewhat of an unknown manufacturer (for those who are not car savvy). The tone of it is piercing and thumping at the same time, really unique compared to a Ferrari or even Lamborghini. I wonder what's it like to drive one of those. It looks like the meanest go-kart with XXL wide tires, and with a V12 behind, it must be crazy!
really interesting. It looks like the air intake faces rearward as far as I can tell, and the relatively quiet induction noise as the car is driving toward the camera suggests that might be true. All the fun sounds are after it passes by the camera.
Fantastic, thanks for the little history lesson. Interesting that this is called a barchetta or little boat, I always thought this type of car was called a speedster but barchetta certainly works😁
A Matra V12 at full chat is possibly the greatest sound in racing history.
Agreed!
Definitely one of the best.
No hear Ferrari and you will change mind fast but its sounds great anyway.
Definitely one of the best. A well running BRM V16 is probably my all time favourite

Exactly
One of the best-sounding V12s of all time! Magnificent video Bozzy! Keep up the good work!
Thanks a lot for your comment!
very superb, the very best of french motorsport ever !!! I love MATRA V12 !!!
This is a type of music for my ears
Aaaah! The sound of twelve beautiful cylinders 😍😍😍😍😍

Support Vintage Racing! Keep these awesome machines alive!
FANTASTIC Matra 650, absolut roaring beast from a vanished era.

Thanks for the great history in the description.
No worries! Thank you for reading it 🙏

OMG!!! The sound !!!!!
this is what a racing car should sound like
can't get enough of this beast!! Awesome !!!!
What a magnificent piece of artwork.
Beautiful iconic car!! Great video again Bozzy!!
Thanks a lot!
Holy mother of goose bumps
Beautiful music
Damn, i think that's the best sounding V12 i've ever heard
Il n y a rien a dire .....juste a écouter le bruit magnifique du V12 MATRA
El sonido mas lindo de su epoca !!
That,,, is a work of art. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
.. heck yes.. our very Souls are attuned to these high revving Motors..
I love that roaring french V12.

Le mans winner not a go cart.
those downshifts got me feelin some type a way
Le feulement du V12 Matra...😮😊

Great V12 sound, F1 tops all

it's beautifull😍
That's quite an ENDEAVOR to keep a dang near one off 60 year old racing v12 going.
Le v 12 matra a le plus beau son de tous . Il y a d autre vidéo sur UA-cam où on peut l écouter
First time I see it going so fast
Great
A sound that makes the hairs on your arms stand on end
Wonderfull Car.......
Wish Francois was alive to drive this Matra.
Just a slight bit of lag on the rev-counter during the warm up.
What was the little red car that was absolutely on top of the Matra? That little thing was fast.
It should be a 1971 Chevron B19 with a 2.0L Cosworth YBM 4-cylinder
All we need now is Stewart and Cevert.
Proper race car sound. F1 has become a parody of itself.
Is it just me or does this Engine sound similar to the M88/1 out of the M1 Procar?
El sonido del Match 5 ???😧😧😧
Whereas a Ferrari V-12 sounds like a grand symphony, the Matra V-12 sounds like a punk-rock band; brash, untamed, something your mum wouldn't like!
😍😍👍👍👍💪💪🙏🙋♂
Les MATRA 1 tour. Au Mans en pleine charge dans la montée du DUNLOP ,imagine FRANÇOIS si tu nous regarde ;le papy Le Mans un jour❤⚙️🔧🎶
Was the driver's colleague at2:55saying to him "You've got your turn signal on" 🚨? 🥴
😁😁 I believe he was only telling him the session was under Full Course Yellow
.. while we still have gasoline..
Not the best sounding car abut still cool one.
1:00 That rpm thing seems not very accurate:)
