Same here! I miss the love triangle! Pelly liked Pete but Pete seemed go fancy Phyllis. Meanwhile Phyllis just hated everyone.
The more characters they take away, the more safe, sanitized and boring the game becomes. These characters do add to the lore, and they add to the game.
I miss Pelly! I never got to see Phyllis and Pete. I slept early because I was young. Man, Let's Go To The City (City Folk for most of the world) makes me smile every time!

I have an idea on how Harriet might return- she doesn't deserve to be replaced by a stupid mirror. So, maybe in an update, you can unlock Shampoodle (could be it's own shop or above Able Sisters like in New Leaf) and in there, you can get hairstyles that only Harriet can give you- and I don't want to see a feature where you can "learn/unlock" the Hairstyles, because after you'd unlock all the hairstyles, it would make Shampoodle useless. I want to be able to HAVE to go to Shampoodle for the hair. Get it from Shampoodle and ONLY Shampoodle.
Edit: Also, because Porter isn't in the game, Champ could come back. (Unless Porter gets a job at Dodo Airlines)

The latest update for Nature Day is adding Redd, Cyrus, Reese, and Leif so I'd be very surprised it Harriet doesn't eventually make a return. Although I'm not sure her salon will return as a building, I could definitely see her coming back as a traveling salesman to give new haircuts and colors

Just because a villagers is ugly That doesn't mean they're bad.
Frillard is my all time favorite character, but when I started NL and heard Shrunk talking about his 'mentor,' it hit me hard because it pretty much implies that he's either retired or dead.
It should be mentioned that much of Dr. Shrunk's New Leaf dialogue speaks about Frillard in the past tense, which implies that Frillard had actually passed away between games. You even showed an example in this video.
"But... I'm worried I won't be able to pull it off as well as he *did*." The fact that Frillard isn't out there still telling that same old joke implies that he either retired or died. Plus, if you talk to Dr. Shrunk after learning a new joke in New Leaf, he'll occasionally mention Frillard and how much he misses him, again implying that he's passed away.
I don't know if the original Japanese text implies anything, but it's definitely an interesting interpretation of some flavor text.
One of my favorites from GC was Nosegay the anteater, she was always the best when talking with her and outfits looked great on her. im guessing she was cut for her name, but i miss her.

Reet Skeet Reet Skeet ah i know the problem. I‘m german and „Avery“ is named „Quetzal“ in the german version. You can look it up 😅 he‘s also the eagle in the Video at 6:33 on the left. So I don‘t know what‘s the deal behind it, if he‘s supposed to be the Quetzal from the first generation, but they definitely reused the name for the eagle „Avery“
Felyne is an adorable kitty... I've been playing a lot of Monster Hunter World and they cross over with so many other games, it'd be great if they could do one with New Horizons and bring him back.

That comment didn't age well hahaha, but before the game was released I found some sellers on eBay selling 1 pack (6 cards) for $3.80 USD of series 1-4. The prices have, of course, now skyrocketed due to the popularity of the game and Nintendo still not doing a western re-release of the cards. Even Sanrio which was already ridiculously priced $200 for the 6 English cards are now $500 last I checked

Maybe the prices will be lower again once they’re restocked in the us? That seems to be the case in japan right now because nintendo doesn’t want to see the card packs selling for so much online.
@@sweetumami1338 I think so too! They might feel hesitant because series 1-4 sat on shelves for years and wouldn't sell. But there wasn't much demand for them since they were only used for Happy Home Designer and then Welcome Amiibo update for New Leaf a bit later, which by that point a lot of Animal Crossing hype had died down by then. But considering the successful sale of the switch, massive quarantine and lockdowns trapping many people indoors, and many new players being introduced to the series, now would be the perfect time to have as many amiibo cards on the shelves as they first did when Happy Home Designer came out. I really don't know what they're thinking because every day they don't restock in the west is another day people are putting the game down. They've definitely lost a lot of money and given a lot of that to the scalpers who control the 3rd party market. But what do I know? I'm no business major haha
me when i bought 15 packs of cards and 5 welcome amiibo update cards in 2017: "well, i have over 200+ cards that i can only use with new leaf but thats alright cause i love the pictures" :)

Poppy is my own my personal favorite. I was going crazy trying to find her in NH until someone who had her amiibo gave her to me in exchange for Diana. I was so happy to receive her and have her home again.

The only villager i really care a lot about nintendo bringing back is Tarou. Please, for the love of god, give us a male wolf that isn't cranky! Yes, we have Kyle, but Dobie is now cranky so we dont have a lazy or jock wolf villager in new horizons!
I really want Tarou back, too. He would fit so well with my island and he'd add some desperately-needed variety to the cast of wolves.
In City Folk, my favorite villager was Bunnie. She never wanted to move out, she wasn't snooty, always nice,.and right next door to my house. She was my animal best friend, and I won't stop spending bells on tickets to find her.

the welcome amiibo were like so mysterious...i bought 3 packs the day they were released (before christmas) then i came back after christmas to buy more and they were sold out. never saw them back in stores again after that. and they now go for $100+ on amazon. thank god i got the one charecter i REALLY wanted in the first pack i opened up. They should make it so Harriet aka Shampoodle could come on your island a few times every week and could dye your hair colors that aren’t on the mirror’s/vanity’s like she could do navy blue hair or violet hair and she could style your hair super crazy like if you wanted to tho, and after a week the hair dye would come out or you could wash it in a sink maybe :D

Well one villager I can say for certain that will NEVER be cut is Bob is the first villager to ever be created and he has been in every game so removing him would be a very bad idea.

I feel really lucky. Indonesian online markets have sold the sanrio cards for suprisingly cheap, about 200k-400k rupiah (about 15-35$). For a long time until now, it was more difficult to find amiibo cards of normal villagers instead

Cornimer did appear after wild world, in tortimer island you can go on a tour in which you hit a machine with his face on it, plus he appears in a minigame added in welcome amiibo.

Villager interaction is so watered down in New Horizons to the point that villagers feel like virtual amiibos in the sense that you just have them. I miss having tons of unique dialog. Now they mostly talk about what you did the previous day, ping you to give you something or sell you something, or just use one of the very few unique lines they have. Also, they cut a lot of special characters :(
i think it's weird that even though there's no train station in NH, they still decided not to bring Champ back. also, i REALLY want woolio, megumi, meow, and bow to come back, though those last two may never return due to licencing issues (maybe)
It’s horrifying to imagine your favorite villager being removed from a future game, especially for people who gained favorites by relationships in previous games. I feel like new horizons took away a bit of the charm by letting you just hunt for your villagers, I don’t feel the same connection with my hunted villagers as my only 2 villagers that moved in randomly.

honestly, a lot of my favorite villagers aren't really talked about. for New Leaf: Tucker, Nan, Amelia, and Bud are among them, and for New Horizons I've grown to love Frita and Piper...Also Monty and I have quite a history, so he's a favorite just for that...
Tip: For your character, instead of making its mouth open and close like that, try just keeping it open while you're talking. It'll look much better and you won't have to do lip syncing. Or, you could use sprites, for an animal crossing character this could be easy as you can just make them from emotes. Hope this helped!
