- Inspired by the classic guitars that emerged from the Midwest early in the last century, the Bourgeois L-DBO brings that distinctive sound that old-time and county-blues enthusiasts love into a new era. This guitar combines vintage small-body character and bark with Dana's signature articulation and response, in a warm, woody all-mahogany package. The result is a versatile instrument with tons of personality, perfect for fingerstyle blues, old-time accompaniment, and comfortable couch-playing. The unusual ziricote fretboard and bridge really pop against the stellar black finish of the body, which is further offset by the ivoroid binding and pickguard. Another knock-out guitar from Dana and his team, with undeniable vintage appeal!

One of the best acoustic sound I've ever heard
My absolute FAVORITE small-body guitar by any builder! Power and clarity without the BOXY tone too many small guitars exhibit! Carl Miner + Bourgeois guitars = PERFECTION!!
Which should I get? The 12, 13 or the 14 fret model?
Little guitar with a huge sound, wow
Gorgeous little guitar!
Bourgeois was the first one I heard of doing this; using Ziricote for the fingerboard and bridge. I love it! At the very least, the way they do it, you can distinctly hear the difference. It’s an idea that has lent extra attack and an extra quality of power to their “banjo killer” model, and clearly is a design feature that compliments snappy blues tones and small bodied guitars phenomenally.
I haven’t really noticed anybody else doing this except for on one particular guitar, Wilborn guitars I believe it was, and it was just as successfully executed in my view.
Carl here has just done an awesome job confirming that the use of Ziricote for the fingerboard and bridge does not at all limit you to the above mentioned styles or qualities, given that you have some classic combinations of tonewoods working for you (spruces, mahogany, rosewoods, or acacias as far as where I’ve observed its successes).
I AM IMPRESSED ... that is a very handsome guitar. Not only does it sound great, but it would look incredible on stage! The black and white is obviously attractive, but I must also say the Ziricote fretboard and bridge is fantastic. Dana created an instruments that looks & sounds like the guitars the Everly Brothers used to play.
Thanks, John

I had one of these with an Adi top and Koa back/sides. Very cool.
Beautiful sounding guitar thank you.
Beautiful playing (as always)!
So good!
Beautiful guitar. Beautiful playing. I would like to hear some actual blues on it if that's possible at some point (in the unlikely event the guitar has not already sold)!
How’s the neck profile?
Which should I get? The 12, 13 or the 14 fret model?
One of each?
Same, need a vid on dif between the 3... what changes tonally.
