Thank you for the video! It's always interesting hearing people's opinions about Wix and Shopify. I had first built my website with Shopify and I spent so much time on trying to make it look good. Unfortunately Shopify seems to have a lot of limitations when it comes to the design of a website. I found myself constantly having to access the code itself for minor custom layouts which was very time consuming. Eventually I figured I should give Wix a go, and I couldn't be happier I did. Everything is so customizable. You can place text and buttons exactly where you want, you can have as many font colors and styles as you wish, etc... I think while Shopify is very quick, especially if you quickly want to set up a website it's nice and all, but if you want to put a lot of love into the design I think Wix is by far better. I think it makes sense to want a website that loads quickly, but I find that it's often underestimated how important the layout and look of a website is as well. Just my thoughts of course. I think I would recommend people to try both and see which one works best for them :)

Shopify has got a lot better in terms of customization with the 2021 update, prior to this it was very limited and would often require a lot of code snippets.
I get what you are saying but you can have the best looking site in the world but if it is slow, then it can have a negative effect on your site in terms of sales as people don't wait but I agree that you should try both before making a decision.

Thank you for another great video. I've watched a few of the reviews and I'm so much more undecided to which platform to use. Here's where I need your guidance; I'm new to building a platform for my jewelry business and I need one and I'm not sure which one to get. Since I'm new to selling online I need something that is quick to learn and easy to set up and also affordable. Your recommendation would be greatly appreciated.

No problem and hope it was helpful. It does get to the point where you don't know which option to go for. I would definitely take a look at Squarespace (www.ecommerce-gold.com/squarespace) as they fall somewhere in between Shopify and Wix

Hi, if you don't have money to invest in your site then how are you going to market it?

I like ShopFunnels. It supports 100% customizable shopping cart feature and also provides abandoned cart reminders. It's an amazing tool to use it requires no coding skills and is affordable too.

Thanks for posting this informative video. One of your biggest gripes with Wix was the website loading time. Out of curiosity I did a search on Google for wix ecommerce websites and found a site that listed some of their top sites (from an independent reviewer) I tried loading up the first 10 listed and all of them loaded up for me within 3 seconds... most took 2 seconds or less! This leads me to think that the problem may be on your end? (I live in Canada). You also mentioned the hassle between switching ecommerce templates, but how many people are really going to do that, and even if they do how often would they do it? once a year..maybe. Not really a negative for me, but to each their own. Oh, and the extra templates that are offered on the themeforest site you mentioned cost extra. I had a look and they seem to range for $17 to $99.

No problem and hope it was helpful. As mentioned in the video, we used Uptrends for our performance testing and we just record the results we get from the 30 tests we ran on Wix. As for changing the theme, you may want to check out a couple of options when setting up your store to make sure you are using the right one and if you decide on a redesign, you might want to preview and play around with different themes before committing and this should be an easy process like it is on every other ecommerce platform. I don’t mention the themeforset prices due to it being a marketplace and the number of options and prices continuously change.

I’ve also experienced that wix is somewhat slower in loading speed , shopify loads faster . But if you optimise very piece of content and keep the wix site lite then you may not feel the difference.
