In this video I fit the Bluetti Charger 1 to run for the campervan main battery and also the leisure system and battery.
I upgrade to the B300K backup battery too.
This is my second video about this set up that may answer your questions and give you more information too

I agree. I've just got the C1 and then AC200L with 2 batteries and put them in my Motorhome. Now I don't need to worry about hookups and whilst i can only have 1200W of solar max that's more than enough with the C1 as well. Loving all this Bluettit stuff and with the panels best £4500 I have ever spent!

Great video, the Charger 1 has been a very popular product from Bluetti, mine unfortunately is still in the box at the moment as waiting for some good weather to install it in the van.

Great review and the only one that mentions smart Alternators , I plan to fit one of these , I have an old van with a diesel heater , but would like to go full electric in the new van. I want to avoid any permanent lithium batteries so this would be the perfect solution👍🏻

Absolutely awesome!!! So if I bought the charger no1 ac200 max and an extra battery I can charge if from my van battery with mc4 connectors when I’m driving? And when I’m parked up I can swop over to solar by swapping the mc4 connectors. I think.

An interesting setup you have there Dave. Ive recently got myself a AC180 so have still got to see how it works in my little T6 along side my 230ah EcoTree, all I am going to use the AC180 for is some mains. It will be interesting to see how it performs especially this winter. For now my only means of charging the Bluetti is via Mains Hookup when we have it and also the 12v lead which probably won’t put much charge into it but it will be plugged into the leisure battery.
How have your Bluetti systems performed in the colder temperatures of winter as you have been using Bluetti for a while now haven’t you.

My Charger 1 is shipping at the moment, hope for it's arrival in the coming days. As an interim solution, I was hoping to attach the cable ends to the car battery, go out under the bonnet/hood on the passenger side, in through the door seals at the front of the passenger door, to the charger 1 on the passenger seat (cable tied to the passenger seat headrest). Would this pose any problem to the cable itself, squeezed in the door, or any potential for shorts if it melts anywhere in the engine bay. I think most of the moving parts are centrally located and on drivers side, passenger side is mainly battery/fuse boxes etc.
thanks! My car is a VW Golf Mk7 2015 with 140A smart alternator.

What ever you fit as I say in the video you need a fuse as near to the battery as possible therefore if you do have a problem the fuse will blow and stop the potential for causing a fire 🔥

Actually able to follow that, well if I’ve understood correctly your ecotree is all the vans 12v and Bluetti is all the 240v? Right now I use my vans NDS1500W inverter to charge my Anker Solix whilst underway but I’ve no way of linking the Solix to my 300W solar att. I’m sure Anker will be bringing out a similar unit Idc. can i ask why you have two type of power setup both portable bluetti and then the standard van style leisure battery setup, im looking at doing a van build but and was thinking of using just bluetti is it not possible ? just asking because i dont understand it all but is it not possible to plug all sockets and van devices into the bluetti without the victron stuff ?

    • @onemanandhiswhippet
      @onemanandhiswhippet  3 місяці тому +2

      Hi there
I have the standard sort of 12v solar B2B and mains charger from Victron
This give me lots of 12v power that never runs out
I can also charge the Bluetti with the 12 volt system too now using Bluetti’s Charger 1 unit
But you can run everything of just a Bluetti unit something like a AC200 max as it gives out 12v at 30amps just use a lead from the 30amp outlet to a fuse box and link all your 12v kit to that
Then run an extension lead from the AC side to run all your 240 V set up
You can link the Bluetti to your car battery using the new Bluetti charger 1 unit to charge when the engine is running
You can plug to the mains when on a campsite using the Bluetti mains charge
Also you can unplug or use a two way switch to change from solar and the charger 1 unit
Hope that helps if you are in the Yorkshire moors at some point let me know and I can show you my set up and explain way 👍 thanks for watching 😍

If the charger 1 gets connected to the bluetti through the solar input then you can’t use it at the same time as your solar panels then, correct? And you would have to switch between plugins when driving vs when solar charging.

If you get a D050S charging enhancer you can run MC4's from your PV panels to XT60 into the D050S, and then wire the D050S into the DC input so you can have both.

      Van Bluetti Charger 1set up
From the van starter battery there’s two positive leads that are fused and run to the back of the van 1 goes into the Victron B2B unit
The power from the Victron chargers my leisure battery.
The second lead from the van battery goes into the 3 way switch on number 2 input.
Another lead with a fuse comes from my leisure battery to the 3 way switch on number 1 input.
This enables me to use the 3 way switch to switch power off to the charger 1 unit or switch between the van battery and the leisure batteries as the input feed to go into the Charger 1 unit.
The output from the charger 1 unit goes into the solar input of the Bluetti AC200Max
Hope that all makes sense 😀

      Love you setup - brilliant
I’ve a AC200L and hoping to link it to a large lithium battery - would a single B2B (dc dc) charger work either victron or bluetti charger 1 feeding the first battery which then chargers the 2nd?
      Thereby negating 2 chargers
If not then your solution is there 😊
I’ve been looking for someone who has linked a house battery to a all in one power unit (bluetti) in a van setup- appears you’re the first I’ve found 👍

      Hi there
No I don’t think that will work due to the AC200 input would have to be the solar connection and the B2B would struggle at the solar input is to a MPPT solar controller and this would cause problems for B2B understanding how much power to give out 👍

Inverters are what change DC to AC - so you can use home appliances that run on AC; but because we're going DC from the battery, to a DC converter (the Charger 1) to a DC input (power station batteries) we can use DC all the way and not change the type of electricity. Basically if you max out the Charger 1 you're going from 12v 45-50Amps through Charger 1 to become 26-56v 10Amps.
