- While camping at Beartree National Forest, we visit Grayson Highland State park and Whitetop Mountain. Both are worth the trip. Amazing Baby Ponies are so cute, and pretty patient with the morons.

Looked like a beautiful park. Those flame azaleas were really pretty. When I read the sign about the folk festival I saw "morris dancing". Had to look that up. I was familiar with the dancing but not the name of it. Akela was very well behaved with regard to the ponies. Thanks for taking us along!
I'm glad you enjoyed it, Thank you for the comment !
Love seeing the ponies and the flowering bushes. Not sure what some of those parents are teaching the children about animals in the wild. Just when I think you can’t find a prettier place to show us.......
Those flowers were out of control !! And its too bad there is no smell a vision! It was truely sweet smelling on the walk up the hill !! Always good to hear from you !
Beautiful place! Loved the wild ponies! Reminds me of the Outer Banks! Thanks beautiful break in the mountains!
Glad you enjoyed it. Outer banks is on the hit list, just not sure when !?
hello from the sunny ozarks rick!! another informative and interesting adventure!! we have black bears and hogs here in the ozarks but they are wild!! tight lines and cheers!!
Yes, we have a few Hogs here, and many black bears. Both can be hunted with dogs. Thanks for the comment, Be Safe !
Beautiful place I see enough bears in my yard . Already saw 3 this summer. 👍👍👍👍👍💓☕
Cool, Where are you located? When my kids were little, I used to see bare butts in my yard!!
@@GoingNoWhereFast Fort Mountain Murray County, Ga. See more now then I ever have in the last few years.
I have an app that identifies birds by their songs. Birdnet from Google play. At 7.03 minutes it says that was an Eastern Towhee. Thanks for the tours. I can't wait to get out again.
I have that app !! Its a great app ! Yes, I know the Towhee. I know many many bird "Songs". But birds also have calls they use that are distinctive for most species. Those are my weak points! In spring when they sing, I do much better ! Love the morning Chorus !
What kind of gum are you chewing- sounds good -lol
I work very hard to remember to get rid of the gum, I chew a lot of gum, a lot of the time. This time it got away from me for a part of the video and I could not re-shoot that section.. Believe me, I hate it too during the edit! Its a bad habit to try to control, but I usually do !! 💕🐕 LOL..
Hi there, I really enjoyed seeing the flowers there. We don't have them here in Wisconsin. The ponies are awesome! Such amazing views too. Yes, gotta love the mountains! Thanks for sharing!
Kat
Thank you so much! I nearly took a job in Nebraska a while back, Decided it was too sunny and too far from mountains..LOL. I am spoiled !!
Nice video. That's a beautiful park. Neat seeing the horses roaming free. 😊👍
I'm going to have to get there when it isn't so crowded though. I'm always there on a major holiday or festival. Maybe December or January it will be quiet !
Like your videos, I’m from Concord, NC and enjoy camping. Keep it up
Awesome! Thank you! We will try to keep it going !
Rick I can tell a rooster crow and a kookaburra from another birds call but thats about it.
Akela was very interested in the ponies but is well trained.
Thanks for showing us that beautiful countryside! Stay safe.
Thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment. Each and Everyone is important to me and matters! Have a great Week !
A pulling GSD is always handy on the uphill hikes! (in so many ways) Thanks for sharing.
And he actually pulls when I want him to, and not when I don't want him to. He's a very good boy !
Hey Rick, another great video - I have finally posted a video about my Aliner, have a look, I also have a few more planned.
I will check it out! The Hard part is keeping them coming! That requires yu to go camping a lot, thats the part I like!! LOL
@@GoingNoWhereFast You might be interested in my next video, it is about how the awning goes up!
I love to sit right there.
It is pretty magical, if you can ignore all the other people! Thanks for the comment !
I must have missed something. I thought you had two German Shepherds.
I did, I lost them both in 2018. I picked up Akela shortly after loosing the first one. I did a couple video on loosing them and getting him...
@@GoingNoWhereFast I'm sorry to hear that. I'm glad you got another dog though. Dogs are a great joy to have around. I'll look out for those videos.
My husband and I enjoy watching you. We just started watching you today. Did Caesar and Dakota pass away? We’re glad you moved to North Carolina. We live just south of Raleigh. The ponies are beautiful!
Yes, I lost the boys in 2018. Caesar had a Fibrocartilagenous Embolism and Dakota was just 13yrs old and and couldn't get around well or wait to go outside for potty time. I miss them terribly, as does Akela. I think I will stay one dag for a while now. NC is great! And I picked the best location. 1-2 hours to the mountains, Great cost of living, and lots of things to do. Thanks for the comment ! Glad to have you as a viewer!
Going NoWhereFast Thank you for responding. The was very nice. We really enjoy your informative videos and love you your new Akila German Shepherd. We will continue to watch your channel. We just bought a 26 foot Flagstaff couples RV and we are going to start soon on our North Carolina adventures.
@@kimberlyrichardson8980 If you want to save gas, you could just stay in NC for a year and still not see all the really neat stuff or experience all the different environments. I'm finding it very fulfilling. Just wish I wasn't working full time plus! Those Lottery Tickets aren't coming through the way I hoped !!
Going NoWhereFast We don’t buy them. We plan on visiting just North Carolina this year, especially due to COVID. We will look forward to your videos. Thank you
I grew up in the Konnarock community at the foot of Whitetop Mountain. The Appalachian Trail goes across it and goes by Buzzard Rock which was the rock in the bald area where you saw the folks walking .
I had no problem driving to the top and enjoying myself. I was wondering if I could drag the trailer up there and camp out over night. It would make for some epic sunrises I bet?!?
