    Test drove one on Saturday, after lengthy research. It was superb, we have gone for the Iconic grey and black roof. Cannot wait to get it. Amazing car and spec for the money. Great review, ive watched it a few times and it certainly helped our decision in finding the right car for us. Subscribed.

    A great review, really well presented and very informative, we learned stuff even though we already have our Scenic V! The best safety feature is the ability of the car to read the speed signs and adjust the set cruising speed automatically to what the sign says, so clever! • @bilgyno1
    @bilgyno1 6 днів тому

    Good and informative walkthrough. IMO there's bit of a weakness in DC charging: 15-80% in 37 minutes is a bit slow. Even if the battery is huge, the somewhat bad aerodynamics is going to shorten the range at highway speeds*. Is there any chance that Renault can/will upgrade the charging speed through an update?
    * I mean: 15-85% of 87 kWh is around 56 kWh. At 130 km/h (French Autoroute) and in winter, the consumption is likely around 280 Wh/km or even worse, so that means only 37 minutes charging for only 200 km on the next leg.

      Other than the italians (who have to fit massive paddles as a result) everyone else from road car brands to supercars and race cars have the paddles on the wheel so you don't have to remove your hands from the wheel to grab a gear or in this case regen.

      I can add to this: the Y is more efficient, bigger range in LR version, safest car ever tested by Euro ncap, is faster, better standard equipment, benefits of the fantastic, cheap Supercharger network, gets very regular software updates, is cheaper when comparing same equipped versions, ..... Shall i go on? 😅

    • @smcmotorgroup

      No the range of the LR is 331. The Scenic is 380... Both cars have 5 star euro ncap ratings but outside of that test Renault offers more such as the rescue sheet. What better standard equipment do you get over the Scenic? Baring in mind its £12,000 more money and even £7,500 more that a top of the range Iconic. In order to use Google Maps, and many other elements of the Infotainment system, you clearly need to access the internet. I personally think Renault is doing amazing, and I also like the design of this car. But I honestly don't think it does its name justice. Scenic to me was always that more rounded car with biiig windows on every side letting as much light as possible. This however looks a regular small SUV. I honestly can't differentiate between all the newer renault cars anymore, this looks like the megane to me. Most new cars have that very similar aesthetic (Mokka, Scenic, Megane, Peugeot 2008, Cupra Formentor, VW T-Roc etc.). They all look the same to me. I like the designs but I feel like I'm gonna get bored of it soon.

This is crazy. I've been caravanning for decades and whenever (every 3-4 years) i've got next car i've always checked the next car's towing limit (braked) and NEVER EVER been given anything other than 'towing limit is xxxx kg. I understand that towing limit is always on v5 document - and doesn't reference 'driver only',,,,, so can anyone please clarify this. pros vs cons - first pros its quick so fast and comfortable the entertainment system is fast no lag, the drive is far superior to a petrol or diesel its has nearly no outside sound, the stereo is perfect plenty of options for base treble and it has very load speakers, seats are very comfortable, the electric back door is a gift, the suspension is so good even with 20 inch wheels cant feel hardly no bumps there so much this car gives but now the - cons first the person who made the front safety belts must be a moron there back so far and so close to you're body that you have to squeeze them in to lock and that stupid automatic shifter why couldn't they just put a button on the dash it so easy to make a mistake that i can see many people having a crash the rang is shit it tells you have 360 miles or so but you would have to be driving at 20 miles an hour or less to achieve this, and the i haven't even tried the local charging points as im charging from home dont even start with home charging, it tuck 3 apps and 20 a temps at plugging it in and out and in again plus about 3 or 4 hours to get the car to communicate with the apps and for the charging box on the wall to cut out and didn't even warn me it takes about £15 or £20 to get from 20% to 80% they say that you shouldn't charge over 80% and under 20% so really all the talk about rang is crap, there plenty more things that are good and bad this car so its all about what you can put up with, oh and those door handles brainless just stupid.

      Well spec for spec the Scenic is cheaper (the Scenic range goes even lower if you wanted a smaller battery). 220hp for a family car is plenty. Were talking 66hp difference, not exactly night and day. FWD again family car, safety is more important to customers for the Scenic rather than driving dynamics. This is obviously different for CUPRA customers. Interior? Apart from the Google infotainment which has been regarded as the class leader, the solarbay roof than no one else has this side of £100k, ingenious armrest and the class leading space inside that helped win it Car of the Year for 2024?
      Its a good thing were getting the Tavascan later in the year to be able to offer choice against two products focused at very different markets.
