I’ve watched quite a few of these videos, from other content creators as well, and I have to think that the cursory rinse he’s giving the rug at the beginning is not sufficient. He then adds soap and goes over the rug with the rotating brushes. Surely all the gritty mud still present will be damaging the fibers in the rug when the brushes rub the dirt in? Wouldn’t it be better for actually preserving the longevity of the rug to place it over a grating and rinse it as thoroughly as possible, allowing the muddy, gritty water to pass through and be rinsed away, before going over it with the brush machine?
@ actually, I have watched several channels by professional carpet cleaners who very much do thoroughly rinse the carpets, even full room sized ones, before using any kind of brush agitation on them. Some involve very large and no doubt expensive specialized machinery for just that purpose. Just because you haven’t seen them ( particularly on a platform that rewards views and clicks over professional best practices), doesn’t mean they don’t exist.

Do you ever get to clean average rugs that just have plain household dirt on them, & that the owners want back?
He’s done a few of those that I have seen

No.....if that was the case ALL of the carpet cleaners would do it that way! None do!!
