I love how uncluttered and tidy this is. You’re a boss!🙌🏻
Brilliant - so useful to see a small car conversion - occasional car camper in a Corsa, would like to do it in a more organised way. Now I know how - thanks for sharing.
Love the discreet storage bin areas! And how lucky to have someone who sews!
I have been watching your video's for a while now, and decided to go back and join you from the beginning of your journey, and want to thank you for been so honest and real, and sharing your life's ups and downs with us. Your car camper is really authentic, no "BS" just simple with everything you need, and absolutely stealth. Being solo will assist you in finding your higher self, and it's a journey we all have to take at some time. Blessings in light and love. from South Africa
very impressed with your calm way of doing things. I think we could all do with being a bit more minimalist but then I have 3 motorbikes and 2 cars and 7 televisions in my house. You are making me rethink what life is for.
John Smith: I should hope you may rethink all that duplication of effort and expense while ye may. After all, we can't take any of it w/ us.
Started watching this the 2nd time round now. Come Mr M get back out there.
Just watched this again. I can't get over how much room you have in this tiny car. Your minimalism really makes it work.
Nicely Done!
One of my subscribers sent me here.
Came across your most recent video by accident and im so glad i did! Ive gone right back to the beginning of your journey and will ride along with you(well in me mind lol) Stuck up in a flat in the middle of a concrete jungle can be challenging at times but adventures like yours makes life a little more exciting..thankyou x
Just found this and a) really impressed by the minimalist approach - especially sleeping on just a roll-up 1cm yoga mat!! b) I also love the fact it's a UK right hand drive car as the majority of car campers seem to be Americans with much, much bigger vehicles. Inspirational. Liked and subbed. Cheers
Like the set up, but my back hurt just by imagining sleeping on a yoga mat!
I am very impressed! That car looks tiny when you stand next to it, but you have everything you need inside, and it's so well organized, tidy, and clean.
LOVE your set up - great use of space and the tidiest/neatest build I've seen. Great job, well done.☺👍
You are so organized. You have it perfect and makes it easier for you by far. So impressed. Be safe. 😊 thanks
Watching this let's me know I have a tad too much stuff and way more room to work with in my 1st Gen Toyota Sienna - Thanks for sharing...
Looks like you got everything very well organized and efficient. Good job and good on your mom for helping you!
Brilliant micro set up.
you would laugh at all the mistakes we made in building out my Versa (The Minnow) but it is almost ready to head out on adventures, ..still learning..your build is a lovely home
Absolutely fantastic...I think it's incredible how people utilize these small cars in such a great way.
Big respect...
your organisation and use of space is something else... quite dig your channel and am enjoying looking through your vids... still cannot believe you can do all you do in a citigo
One of the best I have ever seen! Would have liked more info on bedding, pillows, also how you cook, but simply so impressed 👍
Very efficient use of space. You have everything covered: eat sleep and bathroom. I really love your water dispenser solution. I assume you take a cooler or small travel refrigerator, for long trips, to keep fresh food in.
Well done!
Very creative use of space. Enjoy your time on the road.
All very well planned set up you have there Mort's..
The only thing id struggle with would be the bed ..I have a Vauxhall Astra van I use for stealth camping, and I have to have my memory foam single household mattress for comfort lol .
How you manage on just that yoga mat is beyond me ... possibly because your a lot younger than me ,and maybe at your age I may well have managed ,but I'm late 50s now ,old Bones 😂
Anyway ,how are you enjoying the van dweller life full time is it suiting you ,any regrets ?
Cheers Mort's ,keep the videos coming 😁👍
same here i had to build in nice matterass to sleep well, this is so much important to me as well../
Thanks Compost. I'm very fortunate that the bed doesn't bother me... although I'm not good in cold weather...
Thanks for watching!
Same. I brought a berlingo to stealth camp and luckily had a spare memory foam mattress I could cut and use. I’m 42 and no way could I do without the memory foam mattress.
Enjoyed your amazing micro car tour thanks for sharing it with us gave you a thumbs up for the great car tour
NICE! Thanks for the handy explanations :) I am just trying to figure out how to turn my VW Up! into a camper without removing the passenger seats, as I'm just lacking about 20cm in length to fully lay down. Your videos gave me the idea to loosen the passenger seat in the front, but NOT detach the cables - then I can move it further to the front and things might work out! Excited to try tomorrow. Good trips to you!
Super nice! Thanks for sharing
man i have never seen so many hacks. even the wiring is done perfectly.
Wow, it's lovely. What do you use for covering the windows?
Hi, Well , looks like i have a lot of videos to watch, thanks for taking us along with you Sir!
Good ideas, nicely done. I like it. I winced as bit as you drilled into the headliner: I'd prefer a non-invasive solution. I'm off to look at more of your videos now. I am thinking of doing something similar for our 'new to us, 'Honda Jazz. All the best. Subbed for more.
Hi Morts, you sure are an ace with the use of limited space. One thing I was wondering about is that if you go of the beaten track pretty far away from towns and villages and you get a serious puncture, like a plit tire due to a sharp stone, you don't seem to have a sparewheel by the looks of it, which could leave you in the middle of nowhere, or even further away from civility.
Do you have something planned for such a situation ?
Really inspiring! Well done on such a neat and compact design. Does the black out curtain cover your legs and feet please? TIA
Thank you for the tour of your solo camping vehicle. Amazing
In my opinion you need a wool blanket. Extra warmth and comfort. A small cooler. A good flashlight. Emergency radio.
Great set up. Where do you keep the spare wheel?
Bravo! Neat and tidy. Organised.
I like that! BTW, sleeping firm and flat best for the spine. Ask any bone cruncher or chiropractor.
Nice streamline setup. I have no intention of living in a car or van but the water bladder is something I want to put in my minivan anyway. I'll never have to buy another single water bottle when my own water container runs empty while out.
Very cool setup :)
Very nice! I've just came back from a road trip where I had to spend a night with my gf in an stock, 3-door Citigo (not for the first time), and being 6ft 7in it wasn't the comfiest of sleeps. So I went on googling how to remove the rear seat just to see what would be possible and really didn't expect to find Citigo camper conversion :D
When you remove the back seat, do the backs of the front bend all the way down (flat)?
How long is the space between the glovebox and trunk ledge?
Have you tried tapping into the Garmin console connection on the top of the front panel? There's a lid right under the vent grill with 9-pin connector in my car. The newer ones have USB port there apparently and I wondered what it would take to be able to at least charge the phone from it (so the cables didn't run across the whole dash) or better yet, charge the phone and connect to audio system. I feel like the pins are there and it's a matter of connecting to the right ones but I wasn't able to find the pinout.
@sirClogg hey 👋
I haven't used the connector for the gps terminal.
I use an Bluetooth receiver into the AUX terminal to connect my phone to the speakers.
The seats don't fold down flat unfortunately.
As for the measurement from front to back I'm sure you can find that yourself.
Really good job...nice and solid and all perfectly colour coordinated...(essential) 👍
man this looks clean, and spacious. do you really need all that space on both sides ? some people would just put additional storage or tabletop behing driver seat, for cooking, or whatever work or entertainment.
Another great video Mort's! What's the leasure battery you use? does it charge through the cigarette lighter and last for your longer trips without mains charging?
Hi Geoff. I use the "Allpowers Portable Generator" 320wh... It doesn't charge from the car, but my portable batteries and devices do from my 4-way 12v USB converter, which is enough even for longer trips.
@@GeoffBeattie definitely good value. I'd think about getting a few portable power packs first and see how you get on. You can get 100wh ones for around £30 on Amazon + they charge off the car.
Very cleverly designed! However, my delicate frame would struggle with the woefully thin mat 😖
Nice video, is that storage compartment where the spare wheel should be?
Hi, Great set up! Can you tell me the width of the velcro you used in mm (was it self adhesive?) and if the width was the same for the curtains and the roof? Also, a detailed video on how the led lights are set up would be useful for us folk less technically minded, thank you.
Does the removal of your seat trigger an airbag fault lamp? If yes, how do you defeat it? Or do you just live with it?
@@mortdog - Funny thing: I watched that video and clicked away just a few seconds before you addressed the airbags. Somehow, I must've thought I had reached the end of the meat of the info. HAHA! Thanks for sending me back! Take Care! -Scott
I'm really enjoying this series of videos and its so good to see how you set up the car with great inovative ideas. Could you do a simple tutorial on your cameras/phone and how you record the videos? I'm particularly interested in the picture in picture videos etc. Is that an app or just something that you can do on your phone?
What sort of fabric do you buy to line the compartments you made, I'd like to do something similar. Love the videos.
It’s actually kind of nice you can actually have a camper in such a small car . But how much does it costed you for everything in total ?
Very economical and ergonomic set up 👍
Great job!
👍👊😎
hi great video, and an amazing job, where did you get the material for the black out windows
I've seen hundreds of car camper videos and this one is the closest to mine in terms of organization, simplicity and aesthetics. Love it. Some clever ideas - water bag, trash bag. One question: Do you blackout the front windows too? If not, when you're sleeping, people could see the bottoms of your legs and feet, correct? I do a lot of urban camping so need to be as stealth as possible. Thanks.
No front window covers. It was a concern for me so I do have a black sleeping bag liner from Mountain Warehouse that I use as a sheet in the summer... but it's not a concern any more, even in urban settings I'd rarely park next to a pavement, and even then it would be drivers side with seat put forward. In any case I think front covers attract more attention than they subvert.
Some great ideas. Well done 👏🏾
Out of interest...how tall are you? Everytime I see a citygo I ask myself the same question as I Initially struggled to sleep in my yeti but did a proper conversion myself for dirt cheap (which I'll post up soon) and tested it out with a stealth camp and Wow! Though have issues with condensation with two of us sleeping in it...how do you overcome that (though probably easier in the hotter countries you are in now)?
Amazing job!
This is awesome, I’m just wondering if you’re concerned about no longer having a spare tire? And also how do you keep things ventilated at night with the black out curtains? Do you sleep with the front windows down?
Hi David, yes I always have the front windows cracked open - and gaps in the blackout curtain.
So neat with a place for everything.
Cool vid!! What you use 4 window covers
Impressive camper car.
Excellent. Set up x
I want to try the polypropylene sheets but am struggling to find any large enough. Could I ask where you sourced yours? Thanks!
Respect-really cool 👍
For the size of the car .. it is fantastic
Any issues with passing MOT? Did you leave all the seatbelts in place?
How does this all work in regards to insurance, like don't you have to list all the mods and won't that sky rocket your payments?
I updated my VC5 to show there was only one seat remaining and told my insurance company the same thing and confirmed it was still being used as a car and is therefore the same category of insurance. I paid a £20 admin fee for the update but it does vary between insurers.
How did you make your floor?
How thick are the polypropylene sheets? Where can I find them? I have a VW up and also want to cut such window coverings…
If it was a 1000cc motorbike you would have to pitch a tent and carry a helmet every day. And it would also eat more fuel.
Did you pick the car then have ideas for camping or camping then picked that car ?
How tall you are?
All good! ✌🏼
Did you have to report the chair removal to the DVLA/insurance?
Yes - quite straightforward. I wasn't required to tell my insurers the exact nature of the modifications though...
Cool😊
Are you not carrying a spare tyre?
No it's not possible - I carry Holts Tyreweld that would repair any puncture long enough to source a replacement.
Thanks
Where did you get your G.P bag from please???
www.medscope.co.uk/eb06-006gp-s-lightweight-medical-bag but seems they are out of stock.
Bragin about the bottle
less is more
I drive a fabia hatchback which is by no means a big car, but to achieve the space economy like you have here with a Citigo is something else. And I like the way you have kept it plain and simple - no BS "look at my epic van life - I'm special on insta", it is simple, honest and unassuming - that's what makes these camping videos so exciting.
thanks mate I really appreciate that 👍
