They may be Japanese designed. However, they are American manufactured by American employees. That's why I like Toyota so much. Any foreign car manufacturer who brings their cars into the United States to be manufactured by Americans because they know Americans will buy reliable cars that are manufactured locally deserve some recognition.

Toyota Kentucky is SO versatile (stamping facility, plastics shop, engine components shop, testing area) and so environmentally friendly.

Toyota employing thousands of Americans and making cars proudly built in America , while on the other hand GM closing plants and laying off thousands of workers while keeping Mexican and chinese plants open! I’d buy a Toyota any day to support the American jobs. Anyways Toyota makes a way better product that’s known for legendary reliability!!

The best built cars are from Toyota by a wide margin. I’ve driven them exclusively since 1988, well over 1.2 million miles, and would never drive anything else.

Oh no... toyota will not have the quality due to its American workers. They will build them like Ford, chevys.

This exact plant has been operating for soo long. They build the Camry which are legendary for Reliability from the 90s to early 2000s. You fail at basic history.

It DOES NOT have the quality you get out of japanese assembly! USA is more used to Ford, chevvys that 1% betterment is 1000% for them.

Americans are a lot better at manufacturing than they are at designing.

Ford and Chevy and Dodge build the best trucks and full-size SUVs and The Japanese build the best smaller cars. Of course my Ford Fusion has been very good. I have a 2009 with 321k on it and the first major thing I changed was the water pump at 311k. Not too shabby.

I'm never buying a toyota again. I have a 2009 Camry with severe oil consumption problems because it's built in the country who can't build cars (the USA). If I wanted an american built POS that would break down i'd buy any other american car.

Goncalo Marques You got the AZ engine. The 2010s and up got the AR engines. You can always try to find a good running 1999 model.

I bet million bucks you put in 5w-30 that oil consumption wouldn't happened again. Perfect example of this theory: 2006 Scion tC uses 5w-30 THEN Toyota switch to 5w-20 /0w-20 on 2007-2009s. Yet 2006 AZ-FEs were never part of the engine recall.
I had 2007 tC that was 236k miles within five years of ownership. I had witness the oil consumption problem WAY BEFORE Toyota knew there was issue. I was so impressed with the durability with that motor that I went back to the dealer and picked up 2012 Scion xB for replacement. Again Toyota didn't know the oil consumption problem even back then. Driven that to 32k miles within 6 months that I was doing long commuting that was forcing me to spend 170 bucks on gas each check. I traded the xB for 2012 2AR-FE Camry. 7 years of ownership with this Camry. I passed 300k miles and have been witnessing oil consumption problem for least the last 150k. I watch the oil level everytime I fill up on fuel and it does show low oil level personalities. I think next oil change I'm going to make decision to use 5w-20 and see if there's difference. This Camry is the BEST Toyota product I've own since there's STILL 80%+ original factory parts from Georgetown. It's going to be interesting what will occur within next few months with this car and myself. Since my very own hands will be building my next Camry and future Camrys when I will be on the factory floor in Georgetown. My Camry is going to keep on rolling miles to/from. I'm even talking about keeping this 2012 after buying 2021-2022 Camry for my everyday car still.
