- ➡️ Barcelona are said to be “very advanced” in their plans to sign Guido Rodriguez from Real Betis this summer on a free transfer. Diario Sport are reporting the midfielder is seen as a “good, nice and cheap” option for the Blaugrana and claims a very positive meeting has been held between both parties.

Kimmich isn’t even a proper CDM. Bayern are literally looking for a DM themselves because he cant defend himself and Goretzka has to cover for him. Even Bayern fans say Kimmich is not a six. That should be enough of a red flag to not sign him.
Also, stats aren’t everything. If we go by data, then Dani Ceballos from RM is better than Pedri lmao. Look at Datamb Football.

Imo Id take kimmich if frenkie were to leave. But looking at the team all of are midfield are small physically. Gavi is our smallest but the most aggressive and I think someone like amadou Onana would balance it more.

Gavi is a pivot.. his trait and attributes all say that.. he isn't good in the attacking third.. not a goal threat, nor does he have the ability to pick killer passes, but he has everything to be a destroyer and keep ball possession. Young, strong, energetic, and tenacious.

I think if Barca can sell Frenkie for around 100m Euros or more and then take that 100m Euro Nike deal injection, it would be amazing since then we could sign Nico Williams, Bernardo Silva, Zubimendi or Kimmich, and then a LB like Davies (which would be genius because then not only r we denying Real Madrid one of the best LB's in the world but we would also be gaining him as a player.) we would easily be able to compete for all the trophies next year.
I can’t think of any top team in Europe that plays with a single pivot. Not Man City, not Madrid, not us, not Arsenal, not Bayern, not PSG, not Leverkusen… the list goes on. All of them have a CDM paired up with another player right beside them. The smartest thing for us to do is pair up De Jong with one of these CDM’s.

Kimmich doesn’t play DM for Germany, playing him with Gundogan as a 6 was a disaster for Germany, and he’s never been a single pivot. Why are we making the same mistake as we did with Frenkie?

De Jong is better than Kimmich. Offensive and Defensive. One big weakness of Kimmich is to hold His Position!! Why tf is Kimmich number 1 on the list. Zubimendi wanted to play UCL with Sociedad and he did. Now is our chance to take him. He would cost the same as a 30 year old Kimmich and has a better profile for Barcelona DNA.

There is no shame in focusing on the youth for 2/3yrs whilst the club works on its finances. Our academy saves the club so much money. No big spending, their wages will be extremely low, and they have the pride and passion for their club.

3:40 not true at all. All of our midfielders need to be comfortable holding the ball and need to be press resistant. Busquets, Xavi and Iniesta were such great midfielders not because the moved the ball fast but because it was almost impossible to pick the ball out of their feet. Guido can’t do that. And that’s one of the many reasons we NEED to keep FDJ. No midfielder is currently as comfortable as FDJ when it comes to holding onto the ball and being press resistant like FDJ. Not even Rodri. And btw the reason Busquets, Xavi and Iniesta all touched the ball quickly was due to their chemistry with each other and positional play. No matter who we get, we won’t get that anymore. They used to pass the ball and quickly move into a position where they could receive it again. There are no midfielders anymore that have that type of off the ball movement like they did. Now midfielders pass the ball and they think their job is done.
Kimmich is turning 30 this year. Unless he’s like for 10 mill, I wouldn’t want him.

If Frenkie stays, which is a big IF, I wouldn't mind a midfield with Kimmich, FDJ, Gavi and maybe Bernardo Silva if he signs. Yamal can be a Right Wing or a second striker and Balde or Cancelo can take the left side. Gundogan and Pedri can rotate in the interior positions with Gavi and Bernardo. Again IF Frenkie stays, IF Kimmich signs and IF Bernardo signs. I'm not completely sure any of those will happen and I'm more inclined to think they won't and Raphinha, Oriol Romeu , Ansu Fati, Guido and some other random player will have to do. Until it's confirmed we're on the 1:1 FFP rule, until it's confirmed there are negotiatons for important sales, until the deal with Nike is confirmed and until the payment from Barça Studios is officially received, I won't believe a thing.

Tuchel doesn’t play the same way as Xavi wants to play tho his teams are far more defensive while Xavi wants to control the ball. The only reason we haven’t played possession is cuz we lack a CDM capable of doing the kind of work that Kimmich would bring that would allow us to keep control of the ball better.
