We're livin' in a water slide: It's wet, it's wild, and at the end of the day, we just hope we make it to the end of the ride with our shorts still on.
I live in one of the driest parts of Central Washington. We average 6.9 inches of precipitation a year. At the first of November we were at 3.43 inches. We are now at 8.73 inches. Two years in a row of above average precipitation.
I always find your videos useful and helpful. The video layout on the screen was shifted heavily to the left, not your usual oversight. I still got what I was looking for nonetheless. Have a good time in Hawaii and have a safe flight back to Seattle. Best wishes.
@ Michael - I really appreciate the daily briefings! Also had a hardy big laugh at the "Hello Kitty Express" the other day! You are providing an incredible service to the community AND for all us WX nerds. Great job with the channel sir! 😉
I have heard that Hawaii is having some big waves . Don't know what Island you're on but big wave riders are having a good season this year. EDDIE at Waimea was good, and Jaws was going on, too. Thanks for your update. You're greatly appreciated.
The cheerleading FOR arctic air is okay if you live in a condo. But for those of us in agriculture it can be devastating! Even last years one or two nights at 6F in the San Juans wiped out over 50% of our protected crops. Eastern Washington growers lost apricots, peaches, nectarines and so on. We can't all be so blessed as to consider weather reporting as entertainment only.
With climate change, we need the snowpack and snow more than ever. Arctic air intrusions are fairly normal in winter, what isn't normal is the frequency, severity, and location of forest fires. Sorry but I can't be bothered to fuss over a few rich retirees in the San Juans losing their crops when we are so desperate to hang on to our glaciers and old growth forest.
@@jeremywilliams2535 I for one am not a rich retiree living in the San Juans. We were here before the rich came. My comment included the impact on large Eastern Washington Orchards as well.
@awen777 again, the overall impact is still far worse with forest fires and shrinking glaciers. Arctic air intrusions have been a feature of PNW for eons so if a few crops can't manage in relatively normal conditions, I really can't be bothered to care that much.
@@PacificNorthwestWeather Always liked watching the models beginning back in the 60's with Bob Fortune and the Weather out of Seattle. The visual models you provide is what brought me here since the beginning.
Mildest December I can ever remember. Went back home to Walla Walla area for the holidays…..only got below 40 degrees once. Feels like October/November….not good…
I was looking at accuweather forecast all they way out through March, very little chances of snow a couple of days and that is it.. If anything it looks like a early spring temperature in the mid upper 50's the last week of February, March upper 50's and 60's. So much for snow.
Accuweather is always way off though. If you looked at it in oct and nov it showed tons of snow starting end of nov and into xmas. They are very off for the long range. Polar vortex looks like it gets a chance end of jan to slip dow .
@@3krickett Crappoweather aka accuweather is wrong 90% of the time! No one can accurately predict the temperature and precip for any area 30 days from now.
It's not looking good for snowfall in the lowlands. Fact is we haven't had many temperatures below freezing this fall and winter, obviously things can change, but this weather has been anything but normal.
Need these weather reports for continental shooting season from Bremerton to Renton as South sound area. We shoot Sunday mornings for the next 3 months!
Also farmers at least on the east side. Arctic air is critical to creating a solid snowpack, otherwise it quickly melts off in the spring and doesn’t contribute as much as it should during the early summer for irrigation.
Michael, I have some issues with your forecast style that I would like to mention. You probably don't read all the comments since you are getting such a big following but I'm going say my piece and hope maybe you'll read this, because it is a bit long. I appreciate your dedication and that you will even do forecasts and reports on your vacation, but I feel that you need to add more thoroughness to your reports. What I mean by this statement is that you claim to be a Pacific Northwest forecaster or a California weather forecaster. Nothing is wrong with those titles but in my view, if you are choosing to cover the weather of the Pacific Northwest, you really need to focus on the entire Pacific Northwest - not just Seattle. I know that is where you live but there seems to be a bit too much time spent on Seattle and the surrounding area. The Pacific Northwest is a very vast and if you want to be fair to all PNW residents, it might be a good idea to expand out a bit more. As for California, similar issue. I would suggest taking more care in fine tuning the tracks that storms take. When you do your California weather update, taking into account that California is a very large state, it would be really helpful to zero in on the areas that will get storms and those that won't get storms. That will be focusing on the entire state. When you title your forecast "California Storms Incoming" it's really false advertising and not fair because rest of the state is not being covered. You say that storms are incoming but vast areas are not getting any weather at all. It's very important to make that distinction. The California Weather Update needs to be a weather update for everyone. Thank you for your time.
Love the big island! Every environment you could imagine, big winds on the east sides, great food and farms to stop by, and the observatories to get an absolutely stunning view of the Milky Way.
Never ending storms? More like a correlation existing between solar activity and excitement of influences that affect both storms, earthquakes, and potentially volcanic activity.
This new weatherpattern will continue to increase until Ayotte hurricane are a regular event. Warm surface water is causing the cyclonic development is from radiation decay heat from Fukushima. It's not from ford's Chevys or cow farts I thought you should know. Just ask your ai bot where this heat is constantly coming from and why the old models do not apply...

My friend in Missoula said it’s been the warmest December he can remember. I know it’s going to change after the new year due to trough changes.
