Bought one, new. Extremely excellent build quality. Sony service was unprecedented when I had to send it in. Problem was as parts started to become scarce I sold it on the used market for a good return. SACD was fantastic, too bad it never became more mainstream. Amp and preamp in the series were also as epic, though I never owned them. As a memento I kept the impressive gold cd spindle weight was used to clamp down discs as they played. $50 for anyone interested.
I have been looking to get one. Instead i've gotten the Shanling C200T. Once done servicing it I shall finally be able to play a few of those SACD's i own. I do love the Sony and more of a vintage stuff. Only thing I find a bit annoying is the time it takes to load up TOC and start to play, especially for the SACD part. Nevertheless, i want it :)
Thanks. 'used to have the 777 model.
Great players both 🥂
