One thing I really appreciate is how you allow your guests to talk. Some youtubers feel like they have to steal the show and answer their own questions but you allow the guests to share their knowledge. Thank you.
I couldn't agree more!🥰 ....I think I know who you're talking about. I've had to stop watching certain channels because of the constant talking over guests and the "ohhh myyy gooddnesss!" 😄
Thanks for sharing the before and after pictures! It really helps to envision what an 8' deep bed in front of a house can look like! That truly is an incredible garden!
The homeowner has done a great job maintaining the beauty of this garden, as Jay Sifford commented, that doesn’t always happen, which must be heartbreaking for him. Nice to see the before and after shots, Jay has such good vision.
A lot of people don't put the thought into creating a maintainable garden and yard. I'm renovating my yard so it will be less weedy and less difficult to mow and clip.
That weeping Japanese maple! Omg I’m in love with it! Absolutely amazing tree. I love how Jay opened it up to see inside. It looks like a fairy house. If I wrote/ illustrated a children’s book I’d add that tree because it truly looks magical. Those before and after are insane!! It doesn’t look like the same place at all.
I usually like at least some turf, because I like the contrast of nice turf and plants, but this property is absolutely beautiful. That is how you do a no turf yard. Clearly everything has been well thought out, and not to mention the homeowner has taken care of it. Anything looks good the first couple years, but things need ongoing maintenance. Amazing house and garden.
This has got to be one of the best videos you've made. These shrubs and trees are stunning and unbelievable! I will try to replicate these looks using mostly native varieties.
The deodar cedar in that prostrate form is so cool! I think of the massive ones I grew up seeing in central California & it’s amazing they can also have this small form. I may have to look for one. Amazing garden!
I'm so jealous of the beautiful conifers in this garden that I can't grow in my 9a Gulf Coast area. I'm trying to find one that is narrow and small to add a little height and winter interest to my front garden. I'm thinking that a juniper is my best choice to survive our extreme heat and humidity and have been waiting for an Aquavita Juniper to become available. I could use some blue foliage in my garden.
Have you heard anything about when those Aquavitas might be available? I noticed that Proven Winners took it off of their website. A widely available blue Juniperus virginiana would be great!
@@alanerpington5698 I haven't heard any news for a couple of years now that I've been waiting to find some. It's not looking good as a couple of online nurseries have discontinued them. I've just emailed Proven Winners Direct to inquire about the status as they still list them on their website.
One of the most amazing gardens. Glad to return for the greatest hits version. Loved seeing the before. How old is this garden? How did they construct the pool without disturbing the garden? Thanks again!🏡
The garden is 10 years old. The pool construction crew took down the fence and went through the neighbor's yard. My clients were generous with the clients afterwards.
Wow! What a beautiful composition of beautiful plants. Try pairing “Everillo” with “Forever Red” Heuchera. I lined a bed with them alternating and it works.
Do you think the picea Abies will regularly struggle? And do either of you guys know if it’s grafted onto firma? Do the Ruby Falls Redbuds or Golden Falls do well in the sun over here in East, NC? Or do they need shade? I know the Eastern Redbud Species are everywhere. Don’t see cultivars very often, though.
My next door neighbor planted one of those contorted filberts, she moved and I guess the new owners thought the plant was dead because they cut it to the ground early this spring. It has started sending shoots up from the trunk. If they knew what she paid for it I don't think they would have been so quick to chop it down lol.
@@jaysifford9419 I think it is where I'm from a unique area called the Ozarks plateau . Everillo dies out during the winter for me here so much it doesn't recover and the Bowles seems to handle our winter better . It's just an observation I've made over the years after having both plants and trying them both in different places/conditions in my garden . That being said the white /green variegated everillo is hardier for me than the lime green .

Delighted to be able to spend more time in this amazing garden.
Thanks for sharing the before and after pictures! It really helps to envision what an 8' deep bed in front of a house can look like! That truly is an incredible garden!
Amazing garden! Would love to see what it looks like in the winter
That first before and after was something else!
It looked so sterile before. Now there's wildlife and really interesting things to see!
I could watch a million videos of this garden. 😍
A Dream Garden. Gorgeous. Thank you both for sharing.
As someone with arthritis, I like to see it as an art form.
Taking some serious notes here for my 7b and 8a gardens. Jim, thanks so much for pairing your knowledge with other industry experts. ❤

These people have spent a down payment for a house on this landscaping, I would hope that would be enough motivation to maintain it.

I love the corner with fence and gate, shaded and inviting to linger.
This is one of the most beautiful gardens I’ve ever seen!
I can picture a Ruby Falls Redbud trained over an archway for my garden.
I’m so glad to have been back in this garden again!! I find it just breathtaking. ❤️

Boxwood, everillo carex, and orbs…such a stunning combo!
He design a beautifully unique garden

I could watch this garden all day! Just so spectacular...
I’m so glad you showed the ruby falls red bed. The shiny new leaves look so cool. I love this garden.
Still magical and thank you for the second view and seeing your favorites.
A spectacular garden! It's amazing what was done with mostly non-blooming plants!
Really interesting garden, thanks for showing it. There's so many varied shapes and textures in there.
You should be proud of this garden Jay.....thank you Jim for sharing this garden......for me it is the perfect garden.
It's a garden to be proud of! What a beautiful oasis you've created.
Beautiful peaceful garden! Love all the colors of green and textures! Great tour!
Love this format! Amazing plants, beautifully presented. The before and after shots are mind-blowing!

Such a GREAT video! Love the before and after pictures!....What a dream!🤩

So Beautiful, thanks for sharing this video Jim, alot of information and inspiration 👏😊
Great information Jim, loved this episode and design!
How in the world did he make those orbs? Brilliant and adds so much to the garden.
They are fiberglass, and came from Restoration Hardware. I think they recently discontinued them.
"I love the trees that turn arthritis into an art form..." 👍👍👍
One of the most interesting presentations I have seen.
Absolutely beautiful!
The before and after pictures are impressive!

Love these garden tours!! I mean, I really love them!!❤
Beautiful garden, I had to look at several views over and over again. Thank you for sharing!
Jim,
Just stunning! Thank you, Jim, for sharing this garden w/ us again! 😊
This landscape is just amazing! Thanks for another peek into this lovely property!
Love, love, love this garden! 😊
Amazing garden along with the before & after pics. Wow!!!
What a gorgeous property❤
Love that garden! Plus the focus on these plants really helps open my eyes to the value of planting more evergreens and small trees. Thank you.
Absolutely beautiful and amazing ❤
OUTSTANF videography; wowie! Thx!! What a collection, what a luscious, fascinating tapestry of "garden"!

Same here! I keep falling in love with trees and other plants that our area is too hot and humid for. 😢

Wow what an Awesome Garden!!! Thanks so much for sharing!
Great job Jay and thanks, Jim for sharing this with us!
Such a fun an educational tour! Loved it!
Such a beautiful space!
Loved the before and after 🌼🐝
Spectacular!
🌲M🌳ZING‼️
WOW! Beautiful! Such cool plants 💚 Thank you for sharing 🌳🌳🌳🐕
Love the design so much
Thanks Jim. Beautiful garden. 💐💚🙃
Beautiful!
One of my most favorite gardens
Great collaboration.Thanks.
Jim, with your love of chartreuse, I'm surprised that I haven't seen you use Nandina Lemon and Lime in your new garden. I love mine!

Amazing garden. Thank you!
What that beautiful tree in the first minutes of this video
Podocarpus grow great in Los Angeles, zone 10. They get to be tall trees like 30 feet tall.
What was the tree or conifer before the kousa dogwood?? I loved it!! Anyone know?? Wish there was more detailed plant list!!
"I used to be tall and narrow, now I'm just tall." 🤣
I want to know what the layered tree is on the left during the first minute or two while you were discussing the grasses
What is the conifer that is evergreen weeping next to the house by the door?
Please don't stop with the tours, please..❤❤❤pretty please...😅
It looks amazing and so tranquil.
From what year is the BEFORE footage?
It was around 2015.
TY...
QUESTION: Would the same be true of weeping Japanese Maples as to how tall they are when you buy them?
Beautiful garden. I can't even fathom what all of that cost, but I am sure it was an arm and a leg.
Hey I dig up a Japanese maple today do you think it will make it
Where are the orbs from?? Thank you.
Does anyone know what plant that is in the container on the left on top of that potting bench? It's in 10:17
looks like it could be Illicium parviflorum perhaps

I've grown picea abies in Charlotte, zone 8a, for 15 years. They do quite well. They wouldn't be grafted onto abies firma.
My next door neighbor planted one of those contorted filberts, she moved and I guess the new owners thought the plant was dead because they cut it to the ground early this spring. It has started sending shoots up from the trunk. If they knew what she paid for it I don't think they would have been so quick to chop it down lol.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Jim, do you know how big the lot is?
It's roughly half an acre.
@@jaysifford9419 Thank you!
Xin chào bạn 🎉❤😂
For me a plant similar to everillo carex does better it’s Bowles golden grass
Everillo does better than Bowles here for us. It's great that there are different yet similar grasses that can be substituted based on climate zone.
