- NFS UNBOUND. Need for Speed Unbound has FINALLY arrived after the 3 years worth of waiting the whole nfs community endured (longest break between nfs games to date). EA Criterion has definitely decided to go out of the box in the NFS franchise with this instalment in our beloved racing game series but if you ask me... that's what Need for Speed is about in the first place. Being unruly and radical is in its very essence & that has always been a key element of NFS during the series' highest highs, does NFS Unbound deliver the Need for Speed experience that you look for? Unbound is here! Only select few knew that I was keeping my expectations relatively low till launch and even though we're only fresh into the honeymoon phase, I feel like Unbound has exceeded my expectations in a lot of aspects. If Criterion can pump out solid updates without huge delays I think we're in for a good ride.. Have you tried Unbound yet? Thoughts?
I didn't play it but i love this game so much!
I haven't seen too much of the game, so I can't say exactly what they got it right or wrong. However, from what I've seen on your video, it looks like they kept some Heat features. Which is a plus mind you. Heard some things were missing out at launch, specially in the multiplayer. So I'm waiting it out for a few patches, and also to get this one on sale. No way in hell I'm going to pay full price. Too expensive for my wallet ^^

the pursuit music in this game is something else
Definitely loving it so far. In comparison to Heat, it feels like a much more well polished game. The pedestrians, cop detection function, fleshed out AI racers, delivery races, and more along those lines, were really nice, unexpected and not entirely necessary additions that really allows the world to come to life. The handling feels great too. It's nice to have full grip setups come back. I've run into a few bugs so hopefully they can keep up with patches and new features. I also kept expectations low which made the experience way better. I'm only at week 3 and using S tier, but I'm surprised to see the AI still remain competitive as well, even on medium. Really looking forward to the future of this game, with the caveat that EA doesn't kill it less than a year again.

To evade every single major pursuit when I’m in a B grade vehicle I take the to the canyon tunnel 🤣
For me (starting on the 29th and going to the 3rd) I was surprised by how short the game was (at least the direction I went, it could take longer depending if you’re willing to risk it all with like 200K at heat level 5) but still, the game was so good, my only issue was with the crashing (tbf this is Criterion (and while yes part of Criterion is former Ghost employees, hence why the game still has that Ghost flavor) the crashing gives away that some of that old criterion flavor is still there. At least the crash cam is very very short unlike Most Wanted 2012)

Bro on the one where you're pc crashed, something similar happened to me. I was chased by cops and didn't want to lose money, so I restarted the game because I was about to get busted and then I had my money saved and didn't get busted!
Careful with some of these songs in the game. A couple will block Russian viewers, others will outright block your video everywhere.
Especially "Autobahn." That one is a full-block.

So already the first episode, noice.
I must say that overall, especially after how Battlefield turned out and all the silence surrounding the game, based on what I've seen so far, Unbound is a big step in the right direction from Heat. Cops are great, the physics are better (suspension even works now, wow) and they seem to have improved the Grip quite a bit, no more "cars on rails" feel, and the graphics are awesome (the NOS trails do give me mid-2000s vibes, nice). We even got pedestrians somehow, zamn. Never thought I'd see the day in NFS lol. It's cool for immersion.
Can't tell about the story yet as I've seen next to nothing about it, but it's a bit of a letdown that it doesn't follow in Heat's footsteps and give us something darker again. We almost got a great villain there, too.
My issues so far with it are generally minor, such as:
- Some bizarre bugs, like touching the traffic cars at the end.
- Cop chatter is not tactical enough again (it was more tactical during daytime in Heat though). Why? Cops sounding like thugs or plain immature adds nothing and is also unrealistic.
- The damage bar has remained. I understand that the goal behind it is to encourage a risk vs reward system or gameplay style, but I can't shrug off the feeling that it can just as easily be used as an excuse to avoid improving the game in other areas.
- Cartoony effects are jarring for the most part, the otherwise photorealistic graphics just don't mix well with them, and come off as a cheap way or attracting a much younger audience. Perhaps the worst part is that they cannot be disabled entirely (heard only the wings can).
- Drifting is still kinda required for certain corners and tracks, so the pure Grip experience still isn't *quite* where it should be, but again, a noticeable improvement over the predecessors, so better than nothing at all. I also kinda wish B2D would only be used in Drift events a la UG/Carbon/Prostreet, but let that be an option and just make them the best they could be instead.
All around, I am largely pleased with the way the game turned out, especially since most of us probably had no expectations left following the acute silence surrounding the game, then the brief gameplay clips. NFS' future might actually look bright again if it only gets better from here, so let's hope EA doesn't pull a stunt again. In fact, I wonder how long Unbound will even be supported (let that not be 6 months again...).

love the game but the thing that i hate in this game is crash cam. in 50 mph speed. running into wall or some random civilian car. in that low speed you will crashed violently and make your car rooled few time in air.
