- The 17.5 billion shillings represents 10% of the 180 billion shillings needed for the construction of the highway under the public private partnership model.
It will be the second modern and major highway to be constructed under such a deal after the Nairobi Expressway that was constructed by the China Road and Bridge Corporation.
and as Enock Sikolia reports, the upgrade will be done by a consortium led by a French infrastructure company, Vinci.
Very good to hear this. With all the roads being built around the country, I was wondering when they were going to get to this Nai - Nakuru road, and even on to western Kenya. I'm especially interested in the technical aspects of how they're going to handle the widening Rift Valley fault cracks. Please keep us updated on this aspect, and others of course. Keep the good work up, brother.
Nakuru is my county I only been to Kenya 🇰🇪 once but that is where we bought our apartment Kenya is on top of the world AFRICA TO THE WORLD 🌎
To all Kenyans I love you💕
They've not done a good job on the waiyaki way rironi road...no foot bridges, no street lights, no underpasses... it's a mess
Roads will depopulose Nairobi. Amazing projects!!! Go Kenya
Sounds intresting, generally major road projects in Africa sound intresting because they fulfil a basic yest essential need
It will not be bad for a similar project to be aptoved from miritini to machakos junction.
great analysis ,i have noted that the level seven Hospital at Kabete Barracks opposite ABC place is taking shape kindly comment on it .Thank or do a video about it
Hii ndio maendeleo sasa sio zile IMF Za kutajirisha wazungu sisi tukipambana kwa jua kali na campuni za wahindi huku
What happened to sgr next phase? They've given up and settled for a road?
It might be awhile before that can even be considered.. Give it 5 more years, maybe even 10...
This is a great project, I hope it won't have tolls
Will have
Is it true they are expanding Garissa rd from the Thika rd Junction?
Wangekua washaanza kujenga...itatake how long kuisha?
4 years I think .
The road was to Start last year September, I don't know what happened
@@danielkaruga7770 Getting that loan took a while, one of the companies who'd placed bid to build the road took KENHA to court for not winning tender, there was also something about parliament having to streamline a few road toll laws.
I thought Uhuru borrowed Ksh.160Billion from France to Construct The 173KM from Rironi to Mau Summit
Hey ndugu. You first need to understand the type of model being used and those involved.
It's a public private partnership and 10 financing institutions will be involved. The project will be undertaken by a consortium called the Right Valley connect led by French firm Vinci. Now the 17.5 Billion is just 10% of the 180 billion needed. The remaining 160 billion will be funded by other financiers including the French firm and that's is the deal Uhuru signed.
Imagine paying for such a road. so sad. there is no political goodwill. if the government can finance 100B for fuel subsidy in 5 months why not raise 175 billon for the project
Why does it have to be a 4 lane highway? If Kenya doesn't have the money let it be a dual carriageway without tolls. I hope the next government will say no to tolling major highways.
@@harunmwaniki8791 Nairobi -Nakuru is a very major transit road so 4 lanes is a must
@@ichooseviolence2532 A saloon car will have to pay 7,000 to get to Nakuru. Traveling to anywhere west of Limuru will be crazy expensive, produce from Nyandarua, Rift Valley and Western itafika Nairobi ikiwa kwa bei ya juu. In these tough economic times do we really need to subject ourselves to such torture? The road can be dualled from Malaba to Mombasa, a superhighway can be built later when the country is economically stable.
