I love the fact that you included a little demonstration of the game. I very much dislike people just sitting at a table, talking about the game and not really showing what it’s about. Great video!
Nice reviews! Here are some small box games you can play solo that I think you'll LOVE based on what you already like: - Tiny Epic Dungeons is another Tiny Epic game where you move your characters around cards, getting equipment and fighting goblins, except instead of trying to score points you're searching for a powerful boss monster and trying to defeat him before time runs out. - R.O.V.E. is a spatial puzzle like Food Chain Island where you move cards around, except instead of removing cards from play you're reorganizing them into specific patterns. Lots of fun especially with the expansions. - One Deck Galaxy is by the same designer as One Deck Dungeon, but you're playing a space federation trying to overcome a dastardly space nemesis that threatens galactic peace. It has some really neat innovations, like being able to assign less useful dice to build up ships and science you can spend later.
Great shout with food chain island - one of my fave buttonshy games. Not sure if it doesn’t get the love it deserves as earlier on in the simply solo series and before BS got more recognition or for another reason but it’s sooooo good!
Thank you for this list! I’ve loved board games for years, but my cousins have all grown up and we’ve all moved so it’s hard to get my gaming group together. I found solo gaming recently, and it has been so awesome to be able to play consistently again! I’ve added 4 of the ones from your list to my shopping list. Thanks again!
Have you ever played For Northwood? It’s a solo trick taking game and comes in a box about the size of Orchard. I don’t normally go in for trick taking games, but I really like that one.
Hi. Nice list. A couple I want to check out. Thanks. One of my first games was the small box Age of Civilization. I still enjoy it two plus years later.
The Reasons I Watch These: 5% - new game ideas, 95% pass judgement on others views. You have good taste and there were a few I had not heard of. Well done!
Good job squeezing key details about 10 games into 5 minutes, without rushing. And a good game selection too. Star Realms ... gotta love it, I went completionist on it and bought everything except the kickstarter stuff which I missed out on. Don't play it solo though. Minor tip; your content and production value is quite good and deserves better audio, I imagine there is a bit of reverb in the room you are recording, in combination with a microphone which is a placed a bit away from the source (you). Can probably play with microphone setup and/or room acoustics for cleaner sound. Not an expert on this stuff though. And maybe it's just my ears being weird. So what solo games do your viewers play solo? Yesterday I did a couple rounds of Under Falling Skies, and I also checked out the Voyager print & play for the first time.
hi!thanks for your videos!can you please give me some information about the first game "card adventure" I can't find it anywhere, full name or author? Thank you
The name of the game is Cartaventura: Lhasa, published by KOSMOS. There are a whole bunch of different modules that can be purchased: Lhasa, Vinland, Oklahoma, Caravans, etc.

Food Chain Island is a great game - quick, but gives a challenging FUN time.... to bring out whenever you have a few minutes (or more!)...

Tiny Epic Quest is my favorite - along with Tiny Epic Dungeons. A big game in a really tiny box!
