$140 is for 2 persons, including memberships international fees $10, DJ, music, renting Venue, decorations, lighting, city permits, security, police force, dancers, street cleaner, ect ... you named it. People can enjoy the event for engagement, birthday, anniversary...We celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary in 2019 with Dîner En Blanc. Until now, I and my Wife we attended 14th DEB in 5 cities since 2013. What a wonderful occasion to celebrate LIFE and LOVE and FRIENDSHIPS. All are welcome, no politic, no color, no rich nor poor, no social class... all together for magical fun in pure White. If you want to be served, it's not the place for you. Place for community, friendship with anyone in White, at least for one beautiful evening under stars and beautiful cities landmarks. Bonne Soirée Les Ami(e)s.
I mean it’s definitely not a poor persons event. I don’t see any homeless people being asked to join. Or people struggling to pay their bills. It’s a place of privilege. A bit classist, but who am I to judge. I mean people go to the Gucci store and spend hundreds/thousands and no ones outside of the store grilling them on their purchases. 🤷🏾♀️ but that’s just my opinion
A couple of corrections: It's Diner (dee-nay) en Blanc, not "Dinner en Blanc." And it's not about wealth or conspicuous consumption. It's just a fun occasion, where everyone contributes to the general atmosphere.
Houston Tx was Saturday! We were 4K strong! Ppl flew in from Vegas, California, NYC, PA & drove from Dallas, Louisiana etc. It was an awesome time! To be honest I believe they have U jump thru some many hoops is because you'll lose a lot of riff raffs in the process. By the time it's all over the people who are there is Goodazz Company! No foolishness! I can't wait til next year! I spent about $500 by the end of it all. 💕. Pack your patience & njoi urself.
