Agreed. These "land acknowledgments" should also acknowledge that (A) the tribe being mentioned also engaged in violence, and (B) the people offering the acknowledgement are not prepared to evacuate... After all, where would they go to, since virtually every land has been gained thru warfare at some point.
Unfortunately, that doesn't follow the narrative. When you get involved with studying native history, you learn that they were as bad and possibly worse than the white man. When people say they want native history taught in school, they mean native culture. When you explain how deadly the interaction between tribes was, people say you are lying.
Yeah, part Comanche on my grandfathers side. If his ancestors had won they would not have provided reservations or tax breaks or reperations for settlers' descendents. The Camanche would have killed every man and boy and taken the women for wives, and many other tribes had the same policy for warfare.
"They're living the life that was given to them...." with no intention of having their own lives or wallets being affected by the apologies or reparations that they demand.
?!?! Are you actually saying that virtue signaling ALONE does not make one into a terrestrial Saint of secularism?! One that others must bow down to in respect & awe? OMG! 😱
Nobody can afford teepees anymore! Luxury! We can only dreeeeam of the glorious indolence of inhabiting the majestic teepee! We cardboard citizens can't even afford the box your teepee came in, rich man! Avaunt ye! Teepee taunting tentist!
Isn't this the downfall of our nation? Lies are not the friends of wisdom or righteousness. I think everyone needs an apology from everyone who sinned against them, and we, in turn, owe apologies to whoever was victimized by our own personal sins. I don't think you've got it quite right, but I don't worship this country..
Yes, but does might make right and do the ends justify the means? Or, is it only in certain cases but not in other cases? Because we have this great nation today, does that justify the 350+ broken treaties with Native American tribes, that paved the way to acquire this land? Then, out of the other side of our mouth, we claim to be a nation based on laws and the Bible. So which is it? Can’t have it both ways.

If they were to teach true history throughout, then the blue mop tops wouldn't have anything to argue about because the facts are the facts !

Damnit now I have that damned song stuck in my head! 🫤

You leap from ‘legends’ to ‘lies’ as though they’re synonymous, when they are anything but.
What movie is this?
Man who shot Liberty Wallace
Birdemic: Shock and Terror
