    Winamp rocks!! You just convinced me mate, I am surely installing this on my Pi 😁

    That's pretty cool that the Pi will do that. I wonder how it would run Railroad Tycoon II?

    Would you mind making a video install tutorial for windows 95 on Dosbian?

    linux also has "midnight commander" the nc clone, very useful, also has an editor to use with F4, or stand-alone : mcedit

    • @leepspvideo
      @leepspvideo  4 роки тому +1

      I tried Midnight commander. I couldn’t access the image of Win 95.

      @@leepspvideo was a general recommendation, i did not notice on what the "win95 image" was stored
      and how/when you copied using nc, i have no use for ancient systems.

    It would be cool of long filenames were supported, also how do USBs work?

    Trying to run some win95 compatible games that are on cd-roms. Any thoughts on making that a possibility with a pi setup?

      Windows 10 on Raspberry Pi 4 0.2.8. DVD’s and CD’s WOR episode 20.

      Use compatibility mode some older games work.

    Is it possible to use this to install windows 95 on TwisterOS through dosbox? I'm not a fan of Dosbian.

    • @pilabs3206
      @pilabs3206 4 роки тому +1

      You may try it. But i don't know how to launch an x11 session just for dosbox (to not run the all environment on the background)

    • @phoenixbyrd79
      @phoenixbyrd79 4 роки тому +1

      @@pilabs3206 Oh no, I mean run it right from TwisterOS desktop not launch dosbox on it's own without desktop. Just curious if performance would be better under dosbox vs qemu seeing that it looks fairly snappy in this video.

      @@phoenixbyrd79 i don't know, probably. If not we can try to launch it from terminal with xfce off

    I ALMOST get to the end of the installation, but it craps out after the 2nd reboot 'finalizing windows 95', you can hear a sound but before the sound gets finished, the installation freezes. Any more tips, or which version of Win95 to use? The dosbian guy says don't use a later version like osr2 but isn't specific.

      I used Win95_OSR25.iso. I think It was recommended in one of the Daniel Repka tutorials

    I remember Acorn computers that had ARM processors running Windows 95. You could switch between Windows 95 and RISC OS. Unless Windows released a version of Window 95 that supported the ARM processor I think maybe a compatible processor was added to to the Acorn to run Windows 95. Was there an ARM version of Windows 95?

    • @leepspvideo

      Not that I know of.

    • @honkhonkler7732

      No, because many components of its MS-DOS core are written in x86 Assembly and are not portable to other CPU platforms. That's one major reason Windows NT was created other than multi-user capability. I think there was a 486 add in board available for Acorn Risc PCs and that may have been what you saw.

      I don’t think so. It took several tries. I was following the tutorials on the Dosbian Facebook group.
      I think it was Daniel Repka

    if 95 works in theory we should be able to run up to windows 2000/me
    i dont know if its possible but ill give it a shot :P

      Windows 2000 is NT-based, not DOS-based, so I doubt that will work in DOSbox. Windows Me is DOS-based, so that might work.

      I did mine a while ago now. It wasn’t simple at the time and took several attempts. I got the information from the Dosbian forums and I think Daniel Repka had some very useful guides.
