I'm from the Houston area and have been a fan of Westlake since Drew Brees was there. Personally I gave them little chance of winning against Northshore High School who has been absolutely dominant this season. I expected Northshore to win by at least two touchdowns. Obviously Northshore anticipated that Westlake was just in the way of a rematch with Duncanville the following week. After all Westlake fell to Atascocita High Scool by 18 points fairly early in the year, but Northshore defeated Atascocita twice by relatively big margins (In District Play and the playoffs.) Westlake entered the game very focused, and now we know the rest of the story.
Actually Northshore barely beat atascocita in district play due to a botched punt at the end of the game(not a large margin). Northshore trailed the entire game. And atascocita was without key defensive players in the playoff game and the rest were banged up. Northshore was the healthier team at the end of the season. But Westlake improved this season after the loss early in the season. They definitely did their homework. And found their stride
Westlake had a solid game plan and executed on both sides of the ball. North Shore couldn’t win with just having more speed and better athletes this time. It’s not a knock on the team or the coaches, they are still a great program. Just played a little sloppy during the playoffs imo, and it finally caught up.

I've watched a few of these high school playoffs and the college and pro players could take tackling lessons from these high school players
North shore only has two plays in they playbook
Westlake wasn't playing with them and Northshore took them to lighty
Westlake is a good team when they want it they will get it no matter if your 1 2 3 ranked they will get you
North shore got dominated
