- In today's video, I review the Kiwi Ears Quintet - a quadbrid IEM with 1x DD, 2x BA, 2x Planar, 1x PZT. This set is absolutely outstanding and a ridiculously good deal right now.

I was going to snag some Heydays but since these dropped I've changed my mind lol
In my opinion just my opinion the Heyday still sound better
Ordered both, can’t wait to see which one suits me more.
@@Jemmartin owe it go? I’m interested
@@Wenkebach I enjoyed the Heyday more for everyday listening. But short focused listening sessions with the Quintet
thanks for sharing your thoughts, i guess from earlier quintet is going to be " the next hype train " coz it amaze many who tried them.
Bro you got me interested in these 🙌❤️
I don't get much sibilance unless you crank the volume up too much with sibilant tracks.
Comfort is my only issue with the Quintet. After wearing it for over an hour, they start to make my ears sore. The shell is a somewhat odd shape and doesn't conform to my ears well.
I can't think of a better IEM for this price though. It punches way above its cost. This is a 500+ dollars IEM in my opinion.
Would you say the heyday is better in resolution?
What is the best in you're choice for gaming?
Ordered.
What is the Nozzle size? can't find it anywhere
Will they be sold in the uk
In terms of details, do you think this is better than the timeless?
Is it better than aful performer 5 ?
Does it come in other colours
Does it get sibilant or just bright leaning?
How are they for gaming ??
Have you tried the orchestra lite? Wondering how these compare in detail and resolution?
I have the Orchestra Lite and the Quintet are a step up in resolution and detail retrieval. If I were you I would go straight for the Quintet but it is your choice
@@Sonic_Storm awesome. Thanks for the reply. I was trying to choose between the 2!
@@shaunbrady15 to me, the Orchestra Lite is about good in sound stage performance; the Quintet is about a sharp and crispy in detail, sometime maybe too sharp to me, but not too over. i can listen Orchestra Lite for whole day; Quintet maybe 2hours then I have take a rest, maybe 15mins. after that I will keep listening music with Quintet, that sound just kind of addictive.
I have the Orchestra Lite and they are my reference IEMs. They have fantastic detail and are highly resolving but they have zero sibilence. It has a smooth and coherent sound without losing any clarity at all. The Quintet looks interesting but I'm not giving up my Lite. Kudos to Kiwi Ears for making consistently high quality products.
what iems would you recommend for gaming (fps) and music? Budget $250
Rinko from SeeAudio is not bad.
Tangzu Heyday and Kiwiears Quintet for music only. What’s your pick?
Quintet for me personally. HeyDay would be up there but the super close soundstage isn't to my taste.
@@rythomasyt thanks for the take!
Alright so what's your pick for IEM for gaming?
My Kiwi Ears Quartet is very good when gaming so balanced
Currently running SeeAudio Rinko. Not bad for MW2
I love this set! I EQ’d some bass and they are beasts!
yeah they just need some bass eq but a bass boost switch would have been great like they did in the Quartet
Great review - thanks!
How does it compare to S12 Pro, Tea2 and Kato? Audiophile aspirations aside, and considering you said this is a bright set, would you say S12 Pro is more fun with better slam/punch/PRAT for actual music listening, as a daily driver, if you don't have access to EQ (I'm using HD800 and speakers for critical listening)?
Did you not notice any unnatural or metallic timbre in the treble that quite a few others have pointed out, including these reviewers:
(1) Jay had an issue with the metallic timbre on cymbals and electric guitars being too harsh, too hard and brittle, particular at higher volumes. He recommends modding them with a 300 mesh filter to reduce the metallic timbre: ua-cam.com/video/Wzqs1E6E274/v-deo.html
(2) Jordan Oki commented that the timbre is unnatural, possibly due to the piezo tweeter and/or the fact that the various driver types have different "speed": ua-cam.com/video/qkMQXLKvvng/v-deo.html
(3) Vortex said the treble can be a bit hot, fake and fatiguing: ua-cam.com/video/P82o0qbEXXY/v-deo.html
(4) Ian Fann said that they need to be matched with a source that is a bit warmer, otherwise it can get too dry and thin: ua-cam.com/video/ecgk3ESNcSE/v-deo.html
How does this compare to the timeless ae?
Quintet is better value for sure. I own both.
@@LorenzoFraustowhich has better details and better soundstage & imaging?
@@s1nonnn589Quin edges it out. Timeless is the warmer more bass heavy set.
@@LorenzoFrausto ahh thanks
@@s1nonnn589 you’re welcome bro
yup kinda plain looking but performance is mega for the price
