Glad Wanyonyi got to run in the finals. Excited to see his olympic performance.
For those who didn't know, they pushed him through to the finals the next day where he ran 1:41.71, the fastest time in years.

Very unfortunate but he passed and cut in causing his own trip. He didn’t need to do that as he had the momentum for 2nd.

He could not have won this race...he is a great runner though

AK will pick 1-2 in the finals, and the discretionary 3rd place will be decided by selections board and I strongly believe Wanyonyi will be the unanimous choice! That is the way I see

He strategized this race poorly and saw that he wasn't going to catch up. So he caused himself to fall. Good job in the final though Wanyonyi!

That said, he cost the guy who he cut . He might complain too that he needs to be in the final.
That said, it was all Wanyonyi's fault. He should not even be considered. He caused it.

Wanyonyi should NOT have been in the finals in my opinion and I love the guy. I think he could even win gold.
The other guy deserved to be. He was wronged by Wanyonyi who cut in too soon and brought him down.
All in all, this race will be interesting. The guy who won Wanyonyi's semi (I don't even know his name) is one guy I want to see run the final. Ng'eno is very good too.

No I am not. I admire Wanyonyi. I don't understand why he was rewarded. It was his actions that messed tis up.
NOw we'll have 10 guys in the finals instead of 8. That's a little crowded.
AS I said, Wanyonyi could even win the whole thing. He is very talented and is our medal hopeful (whatever colour).
The guy that fell was not even going to win the race so no issue and he caused his own downfall

That’s not fair he was literally about to make a run for it and was tripped, how is this fair the man saw him making a run for it and never respected his space🥲🥲🥲
It is on the one making the run for it to create a proper passing lane. He should have gone a little wider to assure passing anyone, period.
He actually went wide and as soon as he passed he went in and got tripped. Most probably his own fault !!!
